  2. Then there's the 442 that almost was.
  3. Might have a little knowledge here. '88 Cutlass Supreme International - digital dash - billion way power seats - rear buckets w/ console '94 Cutlass Supreme SL - 3.4 DOHC - almost every option As far as the DOHC, yes the timing belt needs to be maintained. I had a mechanic buddy do mine with my help. Changed it in the driveway for the cost of the belt ($30) and a 6 pack. Dealer quote: $800. Other than chewing up brakes, I didnt have any problems with either car. Seemed like they both wore out the brakes quickly, but I think that was common on the W cars. I liked the interior on my '94 better than the redo in '95. I waited to see the '95 before I made the decision to pick up the '94. But thats my opinion.
  4. Didn't want to throw this into the GM Merchandise forum, since these arent readily available. But, since I was cleaning up around here and found these I thought I'd snap a couple pics and throw 'em up. I mentioned these to Cort last week. Got these in fall of '84 when the '85s came out. These were the ones on the wall at the Chevy dealer. They are fairly thick cardboard. Wanted the Vette and Camaro ones, but a salesman snagged them. So I ended up with a bunch, but these are the only two I have left. I had Chevette, Citation X-11, Astro, and Silverado ones (those that I can remember anyway). Funny part was that in '89, I bought an '85 Eurosport like this one except all black.
  5. My pleasure. As I said, it made the trip a little less boring to spend some time chatting over lunch. And, Josh, yeah we've chatted a few times and I met you in person at your place of employment. Always fun. So far that's it for me. Josh & Cort. Maybe more at NAIAS this year.
  6. Available now at Toys R Us. Don't know about other stores. The set includes a 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS, 1965 Pontiac GTO, 1969 Chevy Camaro R/S SS convertible, 1972 Pontiac Trans Am, 1984 Hurst Olds, 1973 Pontiac Grand Am, 1971 Olds Cutlass 442, 1969 Chevy Impala convertible, 1967 Chevy Nova SS, 1959 Chevy Impala.
  7. Just passin' through this time.
  8. Should be rolling through on I-90 Friday late morning, or lunch time.
  9. Sounds like a C&G night at Milan for bracket racing would be cool next spring. BTW, I will be rolling through your area next week, knightfan. At least I think I am. Headed to Madison, WI.
  10. Kmart or a hobby store with die-cast. Some Walmarts now have them as well.
  11. As you may have guessed by the avatar - Van Halen. However, I am really liking the new Nickelback I bought last week.
  12. So did you ever consider that not every car at the Tech Center is a GM employee?? There are plenty of contract workers and supplier workers there who don't get the perks of a GM discount, nor support only GM in their job roles. That said, I have no problem with preferred parking for GM products. If they were smart, they would make the non-GM vehicles park in areas that can't be seen from around the perimeter.
  13. Chevy Greenbrier (Corvair van) Ford Deluxe, Del Rio (wagon) Pontiac - got nuttin' for ya man Dodge B200 (van) Toyota - nada
  14. This is a couple years old. It is an Anson models '98 STS. The hood, trunk and front doors open. The wheels turn also. My interior pic didnt come out, so if I can get a better one I will edit this post to add it.
  15. From your local Wal-Mart....
  16. This is out now. It is a repaint of the red first edition from earlier in the year.
  17. There should be a new batch of colors coming soon also. The 442 comes out in blue with white stripes and the Chevelle in yellow.
  18. I know one that got a ticket for 130 mph on 696. It was not a pretty ticket ($$$). He was in an Allante back in the early 90s.
  19. And the answers.... 1. Name the car that is heard revving its engine as part of the song Panama Eddie's Lamborghini Countach 2. Sammy & Mike took delivery here in Detroit of their newest cars back in May. What were they? and for bonus - who got what color? Ford GTs. Sammy's was white and Mike's was red. 3. Eddie got together with an automotive magazine years ago and put together a contest. The winner got a vehicle similar to one that was made for Eddie. What was that vehicle? and for bonus - what is the VH connection with this particular vehicle? A full-size Chevy pickup, painted red with VH stripes. Eddie father-in-law worked for GM's Truck Group at the time. 4. What was the fate of the hot rod in the Hot For Teacher video? It was put up for auction on www.davidleeroth.com 5. What car was instrumental in having Sammy become VH's second lead singer? "While at a Lamborghini repair shop called Claudio's, Ed mentions that he is looking for a new singer. Claudio, in turn, mentions Sammy Hagar, who was in the band Montrose and now a successful solo artist, who's Lamborghini is also in the shop. Ed calls him, and they set up a time for him to meet the band." 6. What car model had a commercial using VH's version of You Really Got Me? Nissan 300Z 7. What GM vehicle is mentioned in the title of a Sammy Hagar song, and what is the full title of the song? Trans Am (Highway Wonderland)

My gut reaction is its a Corvair, but thats probably not right.
  21. Check your local Kmart. I think that is the only place they are out at the moment.
  22. Well, I try not to do anything too seriously. But, yes, I buy two of models I want to open. You guys only get pics of the GM stuff, but I collect much more than that. In fact, it would probably frighten me if I sat down and figured out how many cars I have now (and $$ spent). Mostly all 1:64, but other sizes too as particular models strike my fancy. I have a couple dozen 1:18 (mostly GM) as well as assorted 1:24, 1:43, etc. I was thinking about posting some of my 1:18 cars in a photo essay, but I have yet to take those pics. If there is interest I will do so. Whaddaya think?
  23. Found these this week as well.
  24. C'mon they're not that tough. OK, maybe some of them are. I figured I wouldnt get much response on this one, but I'll let it run til Saturday and then post answers. Z28 has 2 right and a partial on the third answer.
