  1. No problem. I was seriously surprised that U could get such amenities in this Chevy. It seriously makes the prospects of future Buick, GMC, and Cadillacs look to be very promising. I mean this thing has thing in it that some Lexus don't come with
  2. Beautiful car... and on a short list (but growing with every new release of GM) of rides that my wife is interested in for replacing her Saab 9-3Aero. This along with the Traverse, SRX, G8 GT, and Enclave make the grade for a full line test drive to make her decision. So far we have taken out the G8 GT, Enclave, and the Traverse. GM is wise to limit this stellar Lexus beater to numbers that will insure resale value is never a weapon of the Domestic haters to use in their diminishing bag of complaints
  3. Ford's situation was worse than GM's back in 2007... When Mullaly came in he sold off PAG (Jag, Land Rover, Aston) and took out immense loans while credit was flowing. GM said at the time that they would be fine, not knowing that the market and credit would go BUSTO a year later. Ford happened to have already taken the loans that they would ultimately need in Sept 2008, thus they did not have to get anything when he Congressional request came from the GM and Chrysler. So Ford is not outta the woods yet.
  4. Let me say that I had driven the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook before.. but I had never driven the new, more powerful version of the 3.6L in the Lambdas until now. My favorite before this run was the Enclave.. and because of it's styling.. still is. I just LOOOOOVE the smooth, sexy, sultry lines of the Buick more so than the more truck like look of the Acadia/Outlook. The Traverse uses a great deal of styling cues from the Buick. The Interior is, like all the Lambdas, magnificent. The Traverse is in my opinion, with exception to the Enclave, my favorite. Power was fluid and never needing to be pushed. I mean.. U won't and shouldn't be doing stoplight dragging for Pinks, but the 288HP 3.6LDi pulls U into the mix a sweet as one would expect a V8 to. And QUIET. WTF is GM doing these days? I for one think this has a great deal to do with the added weight we are consistently seeing. Tranny shifted precise and with authority in getting where I wanted go. Steering and handling were spot on.. and perhaps all of these things coupled with the smooth car-like ride brought me to compare it to my Tahoe. While the Tahoe boasts a 3200lb advantage over the Traverse's tow capacity.. WTF do I care??? I haven't towed anything in the last two years that I can remember. Fold down 3rd row, touch-screen navigation with rearview camera display, heated windshield washes, heated and cooled front seats, leather, 20-inch wheels and dual panel Sun-roof.. the bitch was simply making me envious of the less expensive vehicle that would serve my purposes even better than my BOF SUV.. all the while getting better gas mileage. Bottom line... there is talk of the Escalade going Lambda II in the next go 'round. I have to say... as long as the Escalade is luxified in a way that makes it far superior to the Enclave/Traverse/Acadia.. then I could easily see GM making a successful Escalade. Truth is... GM has possibly begged the question of why do the GMT900 SHORT-WHEEL BASE SUVS even exist??? My thought is IF cost becomes an issue.. if CAFE demands it... keep the Suburban/Yukon XL/Escalade ESV, on the Truck frames.. but the Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade all go to Lambda II with perhaps the Tahoe name either replacing the Traverse or becoming an upper trim level in the vane of the Denali for Chevy on the Traverse (The Traverse Tahoe similar to the Acadia Denali)
  5. And U shouldn't. It proves my point even more so. The XF is pretty much as close to looking like the MKs as the Cobalt coupe looks like the G5.
  6. Sorry but I haven't jumped on the Mulaly Bandwagon yet. The Fusion and Taurus are nice, as is the hybrid technology that they have in the Hybrid version.. but Ecoboost was done 4 years ago but called ECOTEC.. specifically in the Astra VXR/OPC, Solstice GXp/Sky RL. Truth is the Malibu is a better car than the Fusion and could easily beat it's fuel economy (Fusion 34MPG vs MAlibu's 33MPG) by putting the 2.4L Di in the car. EASILY. I am also perplexed by the "ONE Flavor" comment. Please explain
  7. Only if U are 21 year Brazilian girl who looks a lot like this :AH-HA_wink:
  8. LOL.. Check again Slick. Jag is not all rosies as U say. Specificallythe very model that the XFR is based on is the reason for what I'm saying. Click here To Get Truth The CTS is missing certain amenities that the XFR has but certainly not $20K worth. And anyone with a brain would realize that the existence of the STS is the reason for the pricing of the CTS-V. I guarantee the death of the STS will spawn a hike in pricing and amenities for the CTS... guaranteed. No one would pay $80K for a CAdillac but I actually have friends and clients who actually paid $86K-115K for the STS-V and XLR-V. My by just paid almost $90K for an Escalade Platinum. The STS-V was a dud because it was marketed against the M5... a car that is the exact same size as the CTS-V. AND WOOOW!!! Take a Cadillac that is the same size as the M5... give it a proper engine and viola.. Suddenly we have a new KING in the segment. Bottom line is the STS, the car that I traded in for my CTS-V, wold have been better had they elongated it in 2008, with its MCE, to the Chinese SLS size and given it the STS-V's S/C 469HP Nrthstar, we woud have actually had an S-Class competitor as they have in China.
  9. Some people here on NET are marred by stupidity and so much ignorance it isn't even funny. Since Lutz's arrival we have see GM go from a company that produced mediocre vehicles that were reliable, and often attractive but never exuded the norm in terms of quality and performance. We have, because of Lutz's product direction, Welburn's design direction, and Andrew Farah's engineering direction, a company that hasn't once yet, in the past 5 years put out vehicle that didn't win some sort of acclaim. Corvettes are considered Ferrari beaters, Cadillacs are comparable to BMWs and Benzes, Malibus are more efficient and better styled than CamCords, Cobalts are as efficient as Civics and Corollas and SS models outperform VWs and Mazda3s. Enclaves and Tahoes are more efficient and have better ergonomics than Highlanders, Pilots, and Sequoias. Silverado/Sierras continue to eat the Tundra, Titan, and Ridgeline's BREAKFAST, LUNCH, and DINNER. And that's just for starters. We have the new Camaro, which is not only coming out the gate swing for Mustangs, Challengers, 370Zs, and G37s in looks and build quality, but also much needed sales. Equinox, a stunner debuting, larger and more efficient than the smaller Rav4, CRV, and Rogue. We have the upcoming SRX which is being compared to the X5 in performance, the RX in comfort, the Q5 in quality, and the the OLD FX in looks. The Volt is coming after so many called it Vaporware. The Cruze is looking to be capable of finally doing what the durable Cavalier, and efficient, competent, but plain Cobalt failed to do: Bring respect to the Domestic Small Car effort. We have the Viva and Spark coming next year. The fantastic Lacrosse is ready to do for Buick what the CTS has done for Cadillac; make it cool again. I'm sorry to Pontiac fans but U were worshiping a brand that hadn't independently produced a REAL performance car in the vein of the GTO for quite a while. Pontiac has been nothing but a rebadged Chevy/Holden for the past years, but with a reputation that seems to be more associated with Trailer Park Easy Ass than Performance. I own a G6 and as much as I love it, when I saw the Aura and then Malibu debut.. with no improvements to the G6 I knu that the writing was in the wall. Pontiac was taking a dirt nap" soon. In regards DIRECTLY to concerns about another Oldsmobile type loss of customers to the competition: As long as GM doesn't screw up the conquest of Pontiac/Saturn customers.. by moving them properly over to Chevy/Buick I think U can rest assured that they will pull it off. The issue with Olds to Buick existed because GM never did anything to make the Buicks as attractive to Olds customers as the OLDSMOBILE cars had been. Buick had nothing as cool as the Alero, or Intrigue, or Aurora. Even the Rainier looked WEAK compared to the Bravada. But now... as long as Buick continues on this trend of giving us these attractive rides like the Lacrosse and Regal.. not to mention the Enclave and possible smaller CUV.. Buick can effectively take on Saturn customers. Chevy taking Pontiac customers should be a no brainer. I'm sorry but truth is as bad as 2009 was for GM, it may have just been the best year in it's 100+ year history. Despite Forum goers silly, trolling rants about it being "controlled" by the Government, I'm seeing a GM emergence that will dominate again. Siting the move by GM to shudder the damaged, redundant Pontiac brand and move to building more efficient cars as a tell-tale sign of President Obama's strong hand. I have news for those fools... cars like the Volt and 40+MPG Cruze were announced well before President Obama ever took the pen from Mr. Bush, and logic tells me that even the foreign made vehicles will have to augment their strategies to meet GLOBAL fuel /emission standards forthcoming. Some moron actually made an analogy between the Post Office and GM. Siting the Post Office as being Government owned and inefficient. I'd love to see GM operate as well. An entity capable of managing over 750K employees and billions of pieces of mail per day.
  10. I'd say Cadillac focused it's energies 5 fold in the CTS-V, easily giving me the best performing, best looking. most reliable, super quality, and easily modifiable super-luxo sedans on the planet. The XFR is a nice looking car no doubt.. but so is the MKS.. which I consistently liken to the XF. Not a good thing. The interior is hot tho and while I don't walk away from it thinking that it is vastly superior to my Sweetness, I will admit it's materials are probably slightly better. But one again I find myself easily and ultimately knowing why... IT COSTS ALMOST $20K more!!! That's about $20K more for about $500 more for an interior upgrade and similar performance to the M5, a car well known to give up it's lunch to the "KING V" I will agree with anyone that says that Cadillac could have charged 90% "STS-V Prices" on this car and it would have still sold. This would have STILL made it less expensive than the cars it's beating, and allowed for them to give it some of the STS-V's additional amenities and materials. And while the CTS-V's interior lay-out is superior over the XFR, M5, EAMG, STS-V, etc... it does, with the exception of the M5... which it simply kills in all ways, have materials that are only 95% there. With the impending death of the STS, a pretty as it still is, the CTS will be getting a nice MCE for MY 2011... that will move it up in material fit and finish to something that the Germans and Brits will have no choice but bow down before. But like I said... for the savings of $20K-25K over it's competitors... I could easily triumph them in an interior upgrade, but why bother??? It still outshines the old benchmark... from BMW. While I'm cruising trouble free in my 95% as good interior... the XFR owner will probably be sitting in his Jaguar Loaner car
