  1. @oldshurst442. @David. I see your points.. and agree on many. I get the slowed production for the sake of quality control, but don't like it. I ened up going back in time and buying a 2016 Checy Impala LTZ used, as a getaround-everyday car because I didn't want to put miles on my "Special" cars.. and the Escalade, being humongous, and taking 93.. isn't exactly my most effcient. Would U believe I considered a f@#kin Tesla.. and even a Mustang MachE? A Lyriq would just be treated as another special car in my stable.. as would the Hummer.. if they were readily avail. But a BLAZER SS EV😍.. or even better.. a Malibu or Regal would truly fit the bill. None avail.. some never will be since GM and Ford have sworn off cars in favor of nothing but CUVs, while the transplant makers continue full on car production. @oldshurst442 and yes.. HELL YEAH the VRod is still awesome.. not to mention full on customizable due to European companies holding it tight to their chest. VRods are extremly loved in Europe. Still.. despite being outta production since 2017. I Loved it so much that after I sold my Night Rod Special in the Spring of '21.. I felt instant regret and tried to buy it back but to no avail.. then forced to seek out another in as great condition.. and alas.. did.. literally that Sept aquired a Vrod Muscle. Luv it to death... and while its no Hayabusa in terms of 200mph.. it can still hit 145 lol.. if I so dare
  2. This is so true.. and despite the fact that the legacy companies are supposed to go fully ev by 2030.. the pace at which they are pushing out product is bewildering. My fav of course is GM.. but I'm let down over their pace the most.. considering the Ultium battery and EV platform is avail. U gave the Lyric a headstart for Cadillac.. and the Hummer for GMC.. there shold be nothing stopping them from having a Tahoe, Yukon, and obviously, Escalade EV on the roads.. not to mention the Blazer should already be out or on its way for Spring delivery.. APRIL. But here the issue.. IMO.. the Legacy companies, GM and Ford.. are still to beholden to old school thinkers. They are like Harley Davidson. They make beautiful, and finally, reliable bikes.. but they fail at addressing the younger generation alternatives from Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Honda by not having incorporated Buell into the ranks before Buell restarted on its own with Roland Sands. Case in point.. my Vrod.. AWESOME bike.. but because "Harley Guys" hated it in America.. they killed it. GM needs to get on the ball.. like Hyun/Kia.. just push out products that would sell under the EV heading. CAn U tell me why the CT4and CT5 aren't being continued with an EV powertrain like the 3series/5Series coming up.. or at the very least.. the hybrid system avail in the Corvette Eray?
  3. @oldshurst442... No doubt Bro... I'll be the Skipper lol. Say hello to the SeaMicasa.. She's out in front with my brother's in the rear (blue) and my first boat in middle (smallest) that I bought in `20 and sold to the new owners this past summer VID_20220910_070039.mp4 Bet! Sounds doable.. When the weather gets better I will be able to to make that trip
  4. @Drew DowdellLooks Fun Bro.. I remember U saying U were looking at getting that model a few years back. Glad U did.. Here's my Ladies
  5. What's up Old friend... Just been working, expanding business and endeavoring in new ventures. Tryin to prepare for early retirement.. My car enthusiasm has turned to Harleys and Boating/Yachting as well. And Boating is Life in the Chesapeake. Riding is Life on these roads. Running my Softail, a V-Rod Muscle and a new Road King Special.. All modded and cammed up if course.. And sailing a 38 Ft Rinker.. But U know I can't give up my Z06 and Caddy Luv
  6. Greetings .. From the Land of Cmicasa Mioso Bossa😎
  7. Can't hate on any of that.. and truthfully I've always said that if American Domestics didn't make a vehicle in a particular segment.. the U gotta go to their competition to get it. Personally I'm still a Harley Guy.. altho my Night Rod Special did have the engine partially designed by Porsche Damn Bro. Sorry to hear that.. and hope he recovers fully soon. Stay Safe your self
  8. Ummm @oldshurst442... what did I do to get drawn into this fight lol? Long time my friend.. but after sifting thru some of this.. I am still lost as to why @ocnblu is so in love with ICES that he still finds the need to talk $h! about the EV movement. INSANITY.. Propulsion that moves us around faster and more efficiently and if I rev the engine/motor/ up with a kid standing behind it... he won't get carbon monoxide poisoning and die? U'd think NO BRAINER. OCNBLU.. U must work for an oil company up there in PA. Rest assured.. I'm trying to hold out for either that Hummer EV or the Escalade EV as my next. Completely ready to exchange everyone of my gas burner V8s for a plug-in.
  9. I instantly turn it off. Its cool on certain vehicles.. but weirdly unnecessary in a luxo or sports car
  10. Hey Thanks Dfelt.. much appreciated. I already made an appointment for Fri to have the new Recall done LOL Thanks Bro Wow.. Thanks.. I too had a White Diamond CTS-V Coupe.. '12 tho.. and yeah I did the smoked markers on this as I did on my Z06.
  11. Thanks Bro.. and Well Drew might know a little more.. but Its a known fact that the VSSR platform is coming in 2022 and the next slew of Cadillacs are to be EV. From a costs perspective it makes sense for them to start to make the change over now.. just hurts seeing the moving on from the ICE
  12. Been a while fellas.. hope is well.. Just wanted pop in and post up my new ride. Sold my CTS-V and Impala and went larger I just took delivery of 2020 CT6V, bought, because I may just keep this one considering the BW's possible iconic status. But it occurred to me that it doesn't matter that its no longer in production when a replacement car.. powered by electric is on the way. This would have been no different than any other car that changed its name or platform the next generation. 2019 CTS buyers for instance.. being upset when the name was changed to Ct5.. and let me tell U.. the CT5 is a GORGEOUS car in person.. and there is nothing cheap or non-lux about it. They made the right move there.. altho a name change was not necessary. People forget that the CT6 was technically, for 2020.. 5 model years old. That's a normal life-cycle give or take. The only thing that makes anyone pause is the fact that there has been no replacement announced officially.. but GM went on record as saying that the brand was going EV.. if that truly is the case.. then the death of the CT6 model.. the model.. is no big deal as long as something from it is retained and learned.. because after now a 300 miles road trip.. (yup already) and back to NY.. I have to say they built a helluva car, with my only complaint remaining being the steering wheel hub not being leather like the Platinum. After experiencing this car... I have to say.. The CT6 is a waste. Omega is a waste. Blackwing is a waste. 3.0LTT is a waste. Basically to produce this car with any limits in production at all. The CT6 from V6 to V8 plus the Hybrid are exemplary cars.. and GM should be as proud of it as it is any Corvette.. and I am a lover of both. In the past I have driven and absolutely enjoyed the CT6 3.6L, CT6 3.0LTT, as well recently test driving the Platinum v8 and the VSeries (which I bought) and let me be another one to say.. Cadillac finally has.. had.. a car that could have reclaimed its top tier status. The Platinum in particular, and outside of the performance upgrades really is the true example of this. Right on down to the upgraded interior materials shown immediately with the steering wheel hub.. which is leather like in my departed CTS-V (or the Escalade and ELR) versus the standard rubber material all luxo manufacturers like to use these days for some reason. (My hope is that I can buy the hub (the middle of the steering wheel that covers the airbag) separately and switch it out. Of course the ability to get Super-Cruise in the Platinum is another example of its superior luxury over the VSeries.. but that is pretty much where their differences end in terms of luxifcation. The Performance.. More performance is why I went V instead of P. more HP.. more torque.. suspension settings that are more in line.. the ability to have a more visceral exhaust note… blacked out trim.. and more aggressive ground effects. I have to say that I really gave up nothing that I wanted going V except the aforementioned steering when hub. Inside I’m back in carbon-fiber as Rose had (my CTS-V)before.. the backseat amenities are a threat for passengers with pop-up screens and (2)USB or (1)HDMI posts allowing for USB stored movies or the ability to plug in a Roku or Firestick connected to the Wifi and watch their content from Netflix or Hulu.. or Prime etc. The new CUE is sensational.. fast.. intuitive, and the dual knobs on the front console due aid dramatically over the previous mouse pad in the older cars. Sounds from the 34 Speaker Panaray system are awesome.. USB 3.1 and USB-C come in two (2) in the center console and two (2) in the rear… (not including the additional two USB and HDMI ports specifically for the Screens. I haven’t tested if the two infotainment USBs will charge a phone, but the other four do.. along with wireless charging. All of that is even more perfect when putting the car in Touring mode.. when the interior becomes even more vault-like versus the Sport and Track exhaust notes, which as an enthusiasts.. are SWEET. I actually switched the note in the vehicle setting to have the SPORT exhaust sound even in Touring.. I love that sound so much. Needless to say that I could right another page’s worth of amenities that are included with this car. Still loving the rear view camera and the night-vision.. or all around cameras, for both safety and security.. Engine performance and handling of the car is absolutely FANTASTIC. Seriously I can’t stress that enough. How the hell did they create a car that hands down is 8 inches longer in length and wheelbase.. and 2 inches wider.. and 300lbs heavier yet still handles as well and ACTUALLY MORE CONFIDENT than my departed race bred ’16 CTS-V.. not to mention because of AWD.. is as fast. From C&D: Zero to 60 mph: 3.8 sec Zero to 100 mph: 9.1 sec Zero to 130 mph: 15.4 sec Rolling start 5–60 mph: 4.7 sec Top gear, 30–50 mph: 2.5 sec Top Gear, 50–70 mph: 2.9 sec Standing ¼-mile: 12.2 sec @ 116 mph Top speed (governor limited): 149 mph Braking, 70–0 mph: 155 ft Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.90 g Some of those results I know will improve as vehicle break-in happens. Fact is.. my only gripe is that they should have been an option even in the VSeries.. even if it meant the car would go over the $110K price threshold that GM seems so cautious to cross. Perhaps its the years of hearing from its own country that its not worth of that price and the Germans are that has led them to be so afraid to simply go for it.. cause they have not only the capability to match the Germans (as evidenced by this car..) but the capability to actually surpass them on all fronts. I cannot stress enough that this car, along with my CTS-V and the current Escalade (the upcoming one is gonna blow U away) truly truly already match the supposed craftsmanship of the Europeans. Americans, ironically, since I've seen both Europeans and Chinese say they have too, simply do not wish to admit it. Point blank the CT6 is as good as the S-Class, let alone the 7Series and A8, which after driving those two recently as well.. I say it is better than. Where they and the S-Class actually win.. is the simple fact that the Germans allow more options.. for more money to be added.. again.. for MORE MONEY Cadillac.. when the customer wants to spend it. Its as if I were selling widgets and my $100 widget A-T6 was a good as your $100 A-550 on all fronts, but U allowed your customers to pay U an additional $10 to add extra stuff to your widget, which would only cost U $1.. but I wouldn't allow my customers to pay me an additional $10 for stuff that, due to amortized costs because I also sell Buicks, Chevys, and GMCs (cause I'm tired of creating new names lol), only costs me $.75. Its INSANE As mentioned before( last week) The dealership mentioned to me that the press has it wrong and that the CT6 is not actually dead and will possibly return after a one year absence and have to for a limited time to accommodate the changeover.. which could be.. and the CT6 returns in 2022 as a new car altogether called the Escala or something.. going in-line with Cadillac saying they are going back to names. The OMEGA and BlackWING tech simply is too great to be a one-off. If they are.. it completely contradicts GM's supposed bean-counter ways… Either way.. I have one and it is spectacular.. while its still available.. and when its not.. I will still have had one:yup:. Performance and luxury wise, outside of my one gripe) Cadillac has everything to be proud of 🥰 Here is my only issue.. The HUB
  13. They are putting the money in their pockets.. that's it.. And who is suddenly saying that the Cadillacs don;t have build quality? Regardless.. GM, Toyota, VW can build cars for less and sell them for less because of total scale. Many of their cars share parts.. That Q7 and A5.. shares parts with the Tour.. or CC... that ES and LS.. shares some parts with a Camry or Avalon.. CT6 and XT5.. certainly share parts.. its the most documented thing in automotive history
  14. First.. I think U are putting too much emphasis in 0-60 times.. second.. the TORQUE and TORQUE presentation from 1500 UP.. might surprise the hell out of U. Third I really don't think the difference in price is so steep that if one wanted a lil more power for bragging rights they couldn't pay the extra coin
  15. Also.. its quite obvious what they did was create a baby CT6 in the CT4. It looks like a scaled down versions and carries its size change very well. Would be nice if the CT8 were coming it be a larger version of the CT5.. which in essence is a scaled down version of the Escala concept I'm cool with the engine base too. They did a more balanced and proper take on the 2.0L Turbo where the HP may be down as much as 35HP (from a 2014 ATS), but the torque comes in way earlier and continues well into the upper RPMs.. all while giving the model a more fuel efficient option that was once filled by the weak 2.5L. I'm good with this.. because ONCE AGAIN.. if one doesn't like the bottom engine.. they can opt for a more powerful one. CHOICES! LOL.. If Cadillac asked some.. they would only be offering the LT2 in their cars.
  16. Exactly. What Cadillac needs to do is realize a huge thing that they missed since Wagoner and Co left RenCen... that they could offer Bentley levels of luxury.. but because they are AMERICAN.. in this age.. they will always be considered not as worth of higher costs over the Germans in base packages. In other words.. U can price a CT6 as high as a 7Series... but U must do so strategically and via options and packages. That base price tho.. that must come off like a value. AMERICANS are self loathing. I challenge even the German's staunchest defender to show me where a based on the CT4's specs thus far.. what makes a comparable 2020 3Series (the leader) a better car to justify a price jump.. other than marketing and longevity in the market place. Ironically.. as I've said many times.. in 2016 I spent $100K on my CTS-V and a friend spent $110K on their M5.. he was disturbed when we both pulled up at spots.. and people wanted to converse about my Cadillac.. take pics standing next to my Cadillac.. and paid no attention to his BMW. Often commenting.. "must be nice." "Is that the V?" "Very classy.. probably cost U a mint.." BMW M5.. nothin. Cadillac can pull this is off.. if only they stick to the place.. be consistent.. stop **cking changing names and strategy.. and continue to build. AND 4GODSAKE!!! Don't kill any cars.. add at least 4 more.. one above the 6, coupes for the 4 and 5, and a variant of the C8.
  17. Height matters in riding. Believe me. When I was originally looking for a bike (I'm 6'3) I was gonna get a Sportster 1200.. Sat on it.. all hunched over even with 10 inch bars.. went for a test.. came back with an aching back. At 5'10,.. U still might want to look at a larger bike so as U don;t have to go thru as much adjusting and changing stuff to accommodate your height.. just sayin. If U already know this.. my bad.. That BMW may have U needing to up the handle bars and change the seat.. no to mention get forward controls. TRUTHFULLY.. U can find a lotta nice deals on older bikes with low miles that are larger.. from Harley.. Triumph.. Indian.. hell even Yamaha. I admittedly was considering getting a Yamaha Raider S
  18. BMW ninet Scrambler? How tall are U?
  19. Yeah.. saw that a few days ago. Oh well.. Its reason one why I have zero issue with waiting til the 2020s go into production.. maybe even a lightly used one to kill me taking a hit on depreciation. Luxury cars are the worst when it comes to that. Friend of mine literally went into trade his S63AMG in with less than 20K on the odo.. I think it was a '17.. they offered him $60K if I remember correct.
  20. Didn't know U rode. Naaah. If I were U I'd get one now or in the coming months. Prices will be down. 2019 Harleys, if that's what U are going for are on sale. Went on Labor Day just to peruse and man they have hella deals. One day.. when I'm ready to do that cross-country ride.. I'll go back to pick-up a Road Glide or Road King
  21. BUt the thing is.. AMERICAN MEDIA.. won't cover it except for a blurb. GM or Ford.. or even Chry.. they would be running the stories back to back daily for 5 years. I mean really. I just thought about what I typed and almost threw up in my mouth at the bulls#!t. Especially if it were GM they would be obsessed over it.. demanding Trump ram Mary Barra's residence door down to get at her
  22. Been away for a while.. summer stuff.. figured I'd get out an live while the weather was warm. Decided to get back into riding bikes.. had given it up back in '05 after my then wife (now ex) had issue with me riding with two small children, one of which had just arrived a year earlier. This time.. decided to do it legal and get an actual license.. no more sport bikes tho.. went with Harley, a Softail Cruiser in June.. and by August wanted a sportier Harley to sit next to her.. a NightRod Special (VRod). Meet Browyn (Softail) and Ronda (NRS). The Softail is an '03 Softail Standard FXST with Rhinehart exhaust. The NRS has Vance and Hines 2-in-1 exhaust and commander tune. Two different looks of the Softail are because I just change my handlebars to Ape Hangers this Saturday. The 2016 NightRod I have been customizing myself as U can see The original look is the grey bike. NRS before I started customizing (Stock Form) Softail before Ape Hanger Handlebars (below). Windshield is detachable
  23. The best selling premium crossovers sold are all FWD/AWD products from Lexus, Acura, Volvo, and.... Cadillac. Do we expect any crossover utilizing the status quo to actually do anything to raise a brands perception? The truth of the matter is that even with Mercedes, the current leader in luxury, the only SUV/CUV that they currently have that truly offers a glimpse of raising any bar is he G-Wagon. And that vehicle is still basically the same as it was 1000 years ago. The GLS, GLE, GLC, and GLA really do nothing so extraordinary that they make one believe that outside the emblem that they are truly special. I have experience in both the GLS and GLE one on one, and I could not for the life of me figure out why, in this case, the GLS was considered anything superior to an Escalade with a similar drive train. These vehicle are fluff. They are profit makers. GM has clearly stated, and I believe them, that they are going EV. This vehicle, like the XT5, and XT4 are to pay for that mission. Truthfully I believe that this XT6 is gonna be a hot seller. I think it will bring about 45-50K new sales into Cadillac. AND.. Its a rebadge.. or better yet a platform engineered entry to a segment where Cadillac desperately needed a contender. I think that is phenomenal for GM considering that this is a platform mate to 5 other vehicles. (Cxx) Lambda's Acadia, Enclave, Outlook, and Traverse reborn. That is six vehicles off one platform and as yet, I have not seen anyone outside of the car rags, and forum readers commenting anything about "rebadging." So much so I have a friend who recently bought a Traverse for himself, his wife has an XT5, and they are looking out for a decent blip of inventory of the Blazer for their daughter who is about to graduate Grad school in the Spring. In conversations with him and his wife, they not once seem to realize that they are driving platform mates. His wife didn't even know that the XT5 and Traverse were apart of the same corporation until they got their statements the same day from GM Finance Why is that so hard to grapple? The market demanded that Cadillac put out a small and larger CUV that sandwiched the XT5/SRX. They responded pretty quickly considering the fact that outside of the Trailblazer overseas is the only model they have that could have served the purpose and answered a question that no one really asked outside of a group of so-called enthusiasts that probably won't buy anyway. Do I think that the Cadillac brand.. no.. GM as a whole needs a small RWD based architecture for CUVs? Yes.. and NO. If the Cadillac brand is delving into the EV market as they say they are in a few years.. no. Performance in a straight, which is really where the line should be drawn for tall wagons, considering the real driving capabilities of most Americans, is just too evident and too apparent with electric motors doing the pushing. What I think Cadillac should do is offer a secondary take on upcoming Escalade which goes the same route as the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. Two vehicles.. one blatantly luxo.. the other luxo sport.. but really appealing to the Male demo as the CUVs in their portfolio are really aimed at women. I believe that the target segment for the XT6, intentionally, is to cater to more females than the heavy skewed male target market of the Escalade garners. I bet good money that U will see more men, by percentage, in the Aviator than U will see in the XT6. Similar in the way the old QX56 and Infiniti FX35-45 pulled in more males, while the EX35 pulled in women. But, for the sake of argument I will wait and see. I truly believe that CAdillac specifically designed the XT4,5, and 6 as vehicles to bring more women into the CUV portion of the brand. The Escalade and ESV will continue to be pushed to men, with the XT7, possibly going RWD to attract men looking for a smaller SUV.
  24. Not convinced of that. In truth I think it is very plausible. altho the necxt CUV could be an EV.. which is shown on this chart as a LOW ROOF Lux
  25. They really don't need to go that deep into it. I really wish some would go drive a current Escalade. It truly is a vehicle that, despite its size, is a marvel of handling. My Yukon SLT is basically the same vehicle and it has been leveled out in the rear (lowered) to no longer be hopped up. The handling is phenomenal.. and I can come around corners that even when driving my nieces Challenger RT I get a bit scared taking... despite its lower center of gravity and RWD. I won;t compare it to my V or Z for obvious reasons.. the Alpha platform being what it is.. along with the YBody. Point being.. the Escalade with the 8 Speed was doing 0-60 in 5.8secs and a 1/4 in 14.4 sec @ 96.8 mph, pulling .77g. This is a 5900lb vehicle. Putting a 100-150 more HP, coupled to the faster shifting 10Speed, lowering it and inch or two.. and U have a pretty crazy performing large luxury SUV.. on the other end.. an XT7 could literally take the original SRX formula (which was essentially a tall STS) and raise a CT6 up a few inches, and add some metal to make it a style equivalent to the XT4
