GM Plans Top-Range Cadillac, SRX Redesign for Next Year
Cmicasa the Great replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Cadillac
Hopefully. I'm expecting a DXX-based vehicle as Theta is about to die... But could be Lambda (or whatever is coming after Lambda). Should be on Alpha+ Naaaah. I think Cadillac would be best to leave the winning formula of SRX alone and keep it on FWD based architecture. I do however think that TWO Alpha based CUVs should be put on the streets. A smaller one than the SRX based on the ATS, coming in 3 door and 5 door config.. to compete directly with the X1 and LR Evoque, leave the SRX to compete with the X3 and GLK, and then a larger Alpha based on CTS to go up against the X5, X6, and ML. One thing I see, and I'm surprised isn't constantly mentioned in talks about Cadillac's 2% drop in (U.S.only as global sales are up 15%) sales is that the competition all have at least 4 CUVs in their line-up while Caddy essentially has 1 BRX= ATS based 3 and 5door SRX= DXX Based FWD 5door SLX= CTS based 3 and 5door Hell.. if the sizes are not differentiated enough make the SLX based on the OMEGA as an unibody alternative to the Escalade -
OK Quick clarification to anyone listening. Using BLUETOOTH and your existing DATA connection on your cell phone (Tested with ANDROID Samsung Galaxy III and IV and LG Viper) will allow you car to connect to (tested with my 2014 Impala LTZ, 2014 Corvette Stingray Z51, 2015 GMC Yukon SLT, ex's 2014 Buick Verano Turbo, and my assistant's 2014 Chevy Cruze LTZ) Apps: iHeartRadio Tune-in Milk Pandora and from what I speculate any other like those. I use iHeart, Pandora, and Milk all the time due to them allowing the "Create Your Own Station" features. I love listening to Prince, Doug Stanhope, Greg Gilrado, Robert Schimmel, Jim Gaffigan, Hendrix, Led Zep, Motown etc stations that I've created. When listening to them you: 1) turn on Bluetooth connection and connect to your paired car. 2) press app that you wish to use and select any of the stations in said app (eg. Press iHeart app, then Prince Station , yours or otherwise. 3) Wait for station to load for like 2 secs. 4) It will display on both your phone and the car's headset. The info will essentially be exactly what U see on the phone screen 5) BTW I have never used the PANDORA app on the actual headset in the car because the Bluetooth is sending the audio and info right to the Headset anyway. The Pandora App on the car's haedset, if used would allow U to rate music (thumbs up and thumbs down) but cold care less about that. This does obviously use your phone's data plan. Hotspot isn't necessary. As long as you have a data signal strong enough it will work. The broadcast by app default have a forward delay, which means that if you are listening to something and your data were to conk out... the app has about 15- 20 seconds of the broadcast stored and will continue to broadcast until hopefully your data connection buffers and reloads. I have unlimited Data thru a grandfather contract with Sprint that I will probably never change. The amount of Data is still minimal. Although 128 Kbps is the default rate of Wi-Fi, Pandora's iPhone and Android app allows you to choose between 64 Kbps and 128 Kbps when using a cellular connection. The default setting is 64 Kbps. If U listen 1 hour per day for 20 days per month example, data use would be just over 500MB. Since I have an unlimited amount of data and a Hotspot on that phone, I have also been able to hook my Roku into Yukon's rear entertainment and stream Netflix for kids while on the road. Grandfather clauses save some of us don't they? With my Sprint one we have 4 phones on one plan and we literally share unlimited data. Every one of these phones may or may not have a hotspot programed into them which allows for, on trips, my passengers to use their Laptops, or tablets willy nilly. It also allows for Netflix streaming to our Roku (or Apple TV, NeoTV and Chromecast).

Rumorpile: Cadillac LTS To Debut At New York: Comments
Cmicasa the Great replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
But this isn't uncharted. The Escalade has certainly sold well into the $80k range since 2008. Before that.. despite it being discontinued.. the XLR started at $80k+ and went up to $120k. My Vseries was well over $70k. If the styling and amenities are there, as they best be, in the LTS, it will sell fine. Again the ATS isn't suffering because of the backseat.. it's suffering because it only comes in one damn choice. If I love the ATS but want a vert... I'm SOL.- 68 replies

The 3 Series outsells the ATS really 3:1. As explained to death, look at the available number of 3 series variations. The Coupe alone is 35% of BMW 3series (well 4series) sales last I checked. That's not counting the convertible. Look at that number and it is clear why the ATS is the "1" to the 3series "3". Second.. how is the XTS a soft rider versus other cars in the segment of it's size. The 740i is not exactly a blvd cutter.. nor is the LS460- 68 replies

Commentary: Chevy vs Buick vs Cadillac vs GMC
Cmicasa the Great replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Reader Reviews
Possibly, but the extra power in the Regal or Impala would still make two stellar cars even more magnificent. After driving the '14 Regal GS recently, ballz out... that car handles with anything I can think of at Audi save the R8. More power, especially another 100, and U would have a car that easily runs down S4s One of the nice things about the Regal is its superb balance. I think putting the V6 up front would ruin that. We already know that the 2.0T can pump out 360hp... so why not let it? I can dig it. If they were to boost it (The LTG) to that degree then who would I be to argue. -

I agree with a great deal of what U said. The problem with the ELR though is that for some reason they, or the press tried to label it as a Halo car. It is not. The still running CTS-V Coupe is more so. After that the press constantly compared it to the Tesla S because of the EV portion of the Voltec inside it.. it was not and is not, no more than a Volt should be directly compared to a Leaf, when a Spark EV is more so the competitor. As for the benchmarking. The ATS not only benchemarked the 3series, but exceeded it in all metrics except.. well.. the back-seat room. For a DRIVER'S CAR.. read DRIVER.. should be a moot point.- 68 replies

GM Plans Top-Range Cadillac, SRX Redesign for Next Year
Cmicasa the Great posted a topic in Cadillac
Article Quotes: General Motors, aiming to reverse a sales slump for its Cadillac luxury brand, plans to introduce a top-range car and a redesigned SRX utility vehicle next year, an executive said. The car will have rear-wheel drive and arrive in late 2015, Dave Leone, Cadillac’s chief engineer, told reporters in California today ahead of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The Detroit-based automaker showed an Elmiraj concept that reflected its vision for such a car at the same event last year. The largest U.S. automaker is counting on an expanded stable of passenger cars and the new SRX, its top-selling model, to lure buyers away from German luxury marques and Toyota Motor Corp.’s Lexus. “This is going to be a fantastic year for Cadillac,” Leone said. Cadillac’s car lineup has paced the brand’s sales declines this year, with deliveries of the compact ATS and larger XTS each falling by more than 20 percent through July. The company also plans to introduce a high-performance V-version of the ATS next year, Leone said. Sales of the SRX, which GM last redesigned in 2009, have climbed 16 percent. The new models will be among the first to debut under new leadership for Cadillac. GM last month named Johan de Nysschen president of the brand, hiring him away from Nissan Motor Co.’s Infiniti. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-08-15/gm-plans-top-range-cadillac-srx-redesign-for-next-year.html -
This was written in June on another Forum but I decided it would be cool to bring it here as a new member owning a new GM K2XX Just got home after originally going to the dealership looking for Escalades and Denalis.. The Cadillac dealership I went on Thursday to had ONE Escalade that wasn't sold yet, and promised me a 1 month wait if I ordered one. Asking price for the Premium version I built was $87,000. Then I told my salesman that I'd get back to him on Monday if I decided. At the same time I thought.. let me mozy over to the GMC/Buick dealer across the street and look at Denalis. This is what happened: So I go into the GMC/Buick dealer and talked to a salesman and tell him I want to see a Yukon Denali. The only one they had left for sale was a Black XL, and it had someone on their way up to take a look see. So I said EFF It... "Do U have any Sierra Denalis?" By the end of the test drive and so negotiations.. I drove off the lot with one of these I $h! U not Yes.. Cmicasa the Great in a PICK-UP!!! I Drove it for the evening.. and then Friday Morning.. having nothing but Buyer's Remorse.. something I have never in my entire car buying life experienced. The Truck was awesome.. but I'm not a Pick-Up guy at all. Even with the Crew Cab and all that 420HP and BOMBASTIC torque.. there was still that 6 ft bed and it just wasn't me. So I called up the dealership and told them my situation.. and how I wasn't happy in the least. The Salesman.. then the Finance Manager, and then the General Manager, who I was already acquainted with from the old days when I used to close car deals, got on the horn.. talked to me, and told me to bring her back.. the slate would be clean and I would be responsible for nothing after that.. as long as a I didn't wreck it on the way back Anyway.. On the showroom floor they had a gorgeous crystal red SLT with Cocoa Dune interior and loaded. Yes.. the 5.3L engine with ONLY 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. That was the thing. I hadn't driven the 5.3L Engine yet but I had driven the Escalade's 6.2L. My '10 Denali had the 6.2L with 403HP, but this felt as fast, perhaps faster, and so many upgrades in terms of interior and ride I couldn't squawk. HD trailering package with 3.42 axle ratio, Trailer brake controller, 4WD models include 2-speed active transfer case, and Premium Smooth Ride Suspension Package with Air leveler So.. My Denali is still in Jersey with the Ex.. the '07 Tahoe, Anya, I've had since Oct 2006 is gone.. trade her in on a '15 Yukon SLT 4WD 98% fully loaded with Nav, Adaptive Cruise Control with Front Automatic Braking, Sunroof, Entertainment system by and by the styling is what caused me to write the check quick fast... I love the buttoned down look, and the evolution. I certainly loved GMT900 and 800s, but this one has upped the ante in quality and amenities. Anyone who can genuinely get into a Range Rover, barring the $200,000 Autobiography and say that the Escalade isn't 100% it's match.. the Denali isn't 95% it's match.. the Yukon SLT isn't 90% it's match.. the Tahoe LTZ isn't 88% it's match.. they are simply full of shi+ and that's a fact There is no guarantee that I still won't drive her for a year or two and then trade her in on an Escalade.. but I'm fully satisfied by this monster. Kids are happy... GF loves it.. and that's cool by me. After '12 buying the CTS-V, '13 buying the Impala LTZ, and now '14 buying the Verano Turbo, Stingray Z51, and this Yukon SLT. . GM has gotten a lot of my cash. I will say that I will still most likely be selling the VSeries at the end of summer because I really only want to have 3 vehicles, and it is a PIA trying to determine what to drive some days. Modifications: 1) This was a project: Measured grill totally, then each slot.. then bought a sheet of .50 gauge Stainless Steel mesh, some poster board to make a model and wire cut my new grew into existence. Then overlaid it onto the existing grill using black tie downs 2) A bug deflector for the front 3) Tinted front windows to match factory tint. Still going to a try and modify CAI.. from AirRaid one that was on my Tahoe. The Mass Air Sensor is positioned different on this, but I may be able to modify my old one to take the sensor... We'll see. Either way.. I actually prefer this Grill now over the Denali's because of the "Break-up" of the whole unit. for the sake of GRILLES Denali Yukon SLT stock Grille Mine after mod The mod btw is actually something I could have ordered from a vendor online. It somehow "Sticks on" using 3M Tape but costs $700. Theirs is a wee bit more "complete" because of the grey surround they use where as I chose to cut it large enough that it covered all the black as possible. I am considering redoing the middle around where it comes to the GMC letters

First and foremost I'm no writer. I put this together from random thoughts and it is simple, and limited to essentially the Epsilon vehicles with a little Alpha and Omega thrown in, but could be expanded to include all of GM concerning it's divisions Chevy vs Buick vs Cadillac vs the Industry Many people lambast Chevy for the Malibu and SS sharing some many design cues, but I maintain that both cars are variably handsome, and in the SS’s case, Chevy/Holden’s take on what a mature mainstream sedan should look like, not succumbing to the body-cladding of past Pontiacs, or racing stripes and trick painted surfaces of the Dodge brand, but presenting to the American buyer a look of maturity, handsome and sleeperish that pushes what is normally reserved for a BMW; Performance from such a toned down look. Yes I’m calling the Chevy SS, the real American BMW 5series. Nope, I didn’t forget about the magnificent CTS. That car is, IMO, a whole nother level. It easily usurps the BMW 5series as the performance king in Luxury sedans, and does it with more splendor than the E-Class. For Chevy, Buick and Cadillac cars, I think the true difference in the first two, leading up to the latter, should be about Styling, engines, and a pure adhesion to the a spectra that sets them each apart. GM has a conundrum on its hand every time it designs and releases a new vehicle from either division. That is how do you dumb down the Chevy to make the Buick or Cadillac seem more grandiose when even the cheapest iteration is literally on par with what other brands, such as BMW or Audi are putting out as premium. The Denali or even Tahoe LTZ, not Escalade, vs Range Rover is a great example, but I am going stick to cars. An objective person, looking at the performance credentials of the Chevy SS, the interior refinement of the SS, the NVH of the SS versus a BMW 5series, would actually come away from a blind folded ride possibly thinking the SS is the more expensive and better engineered vehicle of the two. Who am I kidding, they might actually do the same in a blind-folded ride of a CTS. The SS is really that good. So is the Impala versus an Benz E350. As is the Regal vs a Lexus IS250 or ES350 (sorry haters). It does remind me of Hyundai a bit, with their Genesis and Equus. While they are certainly down on some areas of fit and finish versus an S-Class (vs Equus) for the scaled difference in asking price, the worth of S-Class seriously comes into question. The challenge is differentiation at GM. I think it should be simplified. We know that Reuss wants GM platforms to dwindle in the next two years. The continuation of Zeta is ambiguous with the Alpha platform able to stretch to Commodore size, and Omega just around the corner, which should have been engineered to have a wheel base 125inchs to 151, just in case a Pullman competitor is in the works. Taken further though, the Omega should be able to start when the Alpha ends. Currently the CTS, being 114.60 inches is the longest available WB from Alpha. Can that be stretched to go to 118? Can the Omega be shrunk to 119? Back to the differentiation. How about just sticking to drive-trains and a meeting of “ends?” I believe that GM could take it’s current models and have a very in tune line-up without actually stepping on each division’s toes just by focusing on drive-trains, styling, and of course appropriate per dollar interior/exterior materials and such. While each division doesn’t necessarily need to have a version of each other’s vehicles, it does stand to reason that each division should be able to cover a rising hierarchy within a size category. Ford instance, the Regal vs the Malibu vs the CTS. All are considered Mid-Sizers. For the sake of argument I’d like to use a stair-step approach concerning Cadillac where as the ATS is the equivalent of the Regal. I propose that the Regal would move to Alpha. The Epsilon Platform remaining at Chevy for the Malibu and Buick for the Lacrosse, both being of similar size. This would mean more to the Malibu than the Lacrosse. The Malibu would go back to it’s 112 Wheel Base, but could still stay at 192 and the Lacrosse remains at 197 in exterior length. The Super-Epsilon goes to the Impala, Park Ave, and XTS covering all three brands. Here’s what spawned all of this nerd speak. Why is it that GM feels the need to completely hoard a given tech for a particular division, while another suffers? The ATS vs Regal situation even now, with Regal on Epsilon, GM could certainly put a V6 under the hood and give the car a little more power. I would take them both further, with very little investment as the technologies are existing already at GM, offering: ATS: 2.0L 270HP, 3.6L 320HP, TT3.6L 380HP, and 6.2L 460HP Regal: 2.5L 200hp, 2.0Lturbo 260hp, 3.6L 305HP (GS), TT3.6L 370HP (w AWD GNX) Impala vs Lacrosse vs XTS I’d keep these as they are now, but certainly ask why no AWD available in the Impala? How about making the TT3.6L available in all divisions but simply detune it based on the brand? I think that there is overlap between the TTV6 and the LT1 that simply doesn't have to be. I'd run the TTv6 all the way from 360HP to 450HP, then default to the LT1 in everything I need above that. That engine is known to be under-rated. Meaning it it certainly pumping out more than 460HP. AWD Impala SS 3.6LTT 370HP AWD Park Ave Super 3.6LTT 390HP AWD XTS-VSport 3.6LTT 410HP I believe that Omega should be the one limited platform at GM. I think that it should not be carried over to any other division and should be the basis of at least 4 Cadillac models such as the Sedan, a grand Coupe, a Crossover, and a possible large sports car. That being said, I do think that the Corvette Y-Body needs to be sent over to Cadillac for an immediate XLR redo. Alpha should be distributed for a replacement for the Saturn and Solstice, with one going to Buick as a 2+2 Sport Riviera and the other going to Cadillac as a viable Z4 competitor. Yes I’m suggesting that Cadillac would have 3 Sports cars, with one of them, based off Omega, being a Supercar. I think that is where all of the positive press of the VSport comes in, leading up to the VSeries. Vsport should be incorporated into every damn Cadillac. Vseries limited to the CTS, ATS, Omega, and an Alpha based SUV and sports car. The SRX could handle the 3.6LTT right now. I was set on cars and didn't want to touch on GMC, but I why exclude them? GMC should absolutely move up, but they should not leave where they are either. How do they accomplish this? Be the "Premium Jeep." The Acadia already does this versus the Grand Cherokee. Let's face it, even though the GC is better off-road, it sees equal time on black road as the Acadia (Escalade meet Range Rover). Get in either and you will be met with a damn nice cabin. GMC needs to expand that. Reintro Hummer. Tap the GM's Global box, and exclusively see the Trailblazer as the new Jimmy. Trims up to an "Alpha" model shared with the Sierra, and GMC H3. All get LT1s under the hood. All put a whoopin on Jeep SRT.

As an owner of 5 of the 7 generations of Corvettes I feel the need to give some input into where we have come from and where we may be going. C3. Codename: Lmas I loved this car. 1979 L82 T-Top. 225HP/270lbs of Torque. 0-60 in 6.6 secs, C&D Link fuel economy that came in at about 15mpg.. on the road.. and looks that were constantly and consistently getting me ass. Well.. it and my gorgeous smile, beautiful eye-lashes, and way with words… smooth as a butter, and tasty as sweet cream :badass: I was 22 years old (1995)… and was able to afford this because I knu how to hustle.. in more way than one. “sell me the pen?” No *** sell me the pen, the paper, and the mind that came up with the thought.” This car started off as a shell. A wreck. I went to Bethesda, MD to buy a 1971 Corvette LT1. Got there and the guy, who is most likely dead to the world, as he had to have been about 70 back then, with oxygen tubes and the tank rolling behind him, tells me to look over my shoulder.. I was 5 minutes to late.. the buyer of that car was literally loading it on the roll-back. He then pointed me towards a grey (oxidation, as the car was supposed to be black) 1979 Corvette, with the front fender, ripped above the wheel-well, interior a mess, seats torn, radio gone, carpet dirty, t-top panel interior headliner missing, wheels un-polished, engine blown… AAAARRGH!!! WTF? I had $5,000 in my hand and I hired a roll-back to drive 60 miles to get here from Baltimore. “LOAD HER UP!!!” I said. I had some work to do, because a Vette is a Vette, and I was gonna save her, make her sexy again, make her mine, make her do things for me, to me. Hard work, and my dad and I salvaged this bad boy. After Cam, and complete engine rebuild, I didn’t have access to a Dyno, but I’m pretty sure I was well over the 225HP mark that Chevy had originally shipped her with. Body fixed, repainted in the most pristine Black, new carper, Oyster colored interior, wheels polished, exhaust modded.. OOOOOH the Summer of 1995 was a helluva good time. In comes Spring 1996. My C4, Codename: Root. I was 23. I came across this darling 1995 Auto LT1. 300HP/335lbs of torque. 0-60 in 5.2secs, ¼ 13.7. R&T Review Corvette in damn near perfect condition. Owner was selling her because of a divorce. I had made a lot of money that year doing this. . doing that… so I figured I treat myself. The year before he had paid about $40,000 for her.. I got her for $33,000 Cash.. with about 6K on the ODO. In all honesty no work was necessary, but me being me, had to get into her and do a few mods. In the end, we yield a dyno tested 375HP, and she was the fastest thing I had driven in a long time. Handled like a champ. This vehicle was tight. The Z51 suspension/handling package. It’s competitors at the time were the Supra TT, the 3000GT, Mazda RX7, NSX, and even Porsche 911. This car went up against all of them and very seldom let me down. I will say this in remembering. The interior of this car, IMO, came off as superior to the one that would follow in my C5. They were called Sport Seats, and they were more adjustable, better side bolstering. My C5, Codename: Mary Jane. I had this one when I first posted here on Motor Trend Forum way back in 2005, as I had purchased here new in 2000 for a negotiated $45,000. The 1998 MTCOTY, the LS1 and new Body Style brought the Corvette into a new stratosphere of sexy. It had a few bits yanked from the Acura NSX and RX7… but it’s style was still unmistakably CORVETTE. Last of the hidden headlights, the car was a marvel. 345HP/350lbs of torque.. 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds, and it can deliver a 13.2-second quarter mile at 109.3 mph MOTOR TREND Forum. Of course I modded her so my times would be different. Awesome Awesom Awesome car. The interior was admittedly cheap.. and IMO, a low point in GM history. The term fisher-price was constantly used, but for the cost… easily forgotten considering the looks of the exterior and complete packaged performance. Handled 10x better than the C4.. even the C4 ZR1. Acceleration was spectacular, and something that I had never thought possible with the C3 and C4.. when U took the top out, a much easier feat considering the C4 U needed a supplied Torx Ratchet, using just three handles, the car’s structural rigidity remained in tact. What I’m saying is whether the tops were in or not, the car was just as solid. In the C3 and C4 (F-Bodies too) if you took the tops out, and hit a bump.. U literally would jitter and shake almost into the next lane if U were moving fast enough. In the C5.. that was gone. Chevy had engineered the vehicle as a convertible this time to be as rigid and stable as a hardtop. Putting the top in, or in the case of the ‘Vert.. up, only strengthened it even more. Hence the reason why the C5 Z06 and FRC were even better handlers. Outside of the cheaping out on the interior, which still was better than everything outside of Porsche and above territory, the C5 was a virtual luxury sports-car. The C6 would take it to the next level. In comes 2008 C6 Z51.. and the announcement of KATYA Motor Trend Forum Katya came in Feb 2008. We all kno the specs. Stock 436HP/428lbs of torque. 4.1 0-60, and a ¼ in 12.5 115mph. MT Link Mine, a 3LT Z51 NPP 6Speed Man.. went to the “Mustang Dyno” Reading out 394.2HP/382.7lbs at the Wheels... after some slight mods of a Breathless CAI and some TWEAKING to the Computer, came back at 414.6 HP/402LBS AT THE WHEELS. This put the LS3 at about 487 at the fly. AMAZING!!! The car did everything but fly.. and on one crazy night, me and a whole lotta Makers Mark.. she just may have done that  Do a search for my “Street Racing Chronicles” and U will read about some crazy throw downs, with Mustangs, 911 Turbos.. Vipers… The car was easily the best Corvette ever still considered a base model. Looks wise the, the C5 was smoother, more exotic looking IMO. It just had a certain “Space-Ship” look to it, especially because of the larger rear perception. The C6 went back to the rear of the original C4. It slimmed down in some respects because Chevy wanted to export it to Europe. Performance-wise they slammed damn near everything that came its way. Example: From a Motor Trend Post by Moi.. back in ’08 after a loss and then a re-match between myself and a now friend of mine’s 911 Turbo: I had him... I swear I had him...from the light him and I took off... I mean the smell of our rubber was a smell that uuuuuuuuuuh... OH LORD it was sweet... Coming out of the cut... in first... shift to 2nd "CHIRP!!!!" ... we are side by side... "CHIRP" into 3rd.... I got him.... Now this is the most humiliating thing I've ever done... I got the mofo... in his $115K BRAND NEW 911Turbo... Beautiful Black... Gorgeous 911.... and I and anxious... blood boiling.. I go to shift to 4th... and MISS MY GEAR!!!... < "ROOOOEEEERRR!!!!" My baby goes < I rev all the way up to 6300 RPM at least.... because I MISSED MY GEAR...and he PULLS the EFF AWAY. When we get to the corner... right before U get to the "Green Turtle" in Westminster... He says to me, "Daaaaam Son... Learn to shift that thing... then come back and see me..." Laughs at me and drives away... as I have my head down.... in SHAME Read more: Motor Trend Forum The Rematch: “When I got home I had to pull up reason for this... I mean despite the extra HP I have received from the RAM Air and the Tune... the guy was still rolling in a 911 Turbo... a car that is more on par with a Z06 than mine... I found what could be the explanation tho... FROM Car And Driver.... Back in Sept 2006's issue of C&D they tested a Z06 vs F430 vs 911Turbo... The Z06 kicked their asses in almost every performance test but was voted #3 because #1 it was American... #2.. the interior... and #3... the infamous "GOTTA HAVE IT" factor Anyway... looking at the performance numbers might show U the reason... 0-60 for the 911 was 3.4, Z06 3.5, F430 4.1.. BUT... 5-60 for the 911 was 4.6, while the Z06 pulled it in 4.0, and in the 1/4 the Z06 won the race 11/7@123 vs the 911's 11.7@121... the F430 which won the comparo overall came in DEAD last in almost every test... except GOTTA HAVE. OK... I don't have a Z06, but I am only kicking about 30HP less than it... and after taking a look at C&D's test of the 2008 Z51... The STOCK Z51 pulled the 5-60 mark in 4.8secs... .2 behind the Turbo... with my car not exactly being stock.. and us essentially negating his AWD advantage by rolling to 5mph... I think I came up with the explanation.... :badass: Ironically.. if my Z51 had of been STOCK... and the race had of been between myself an a F430 owner... I would have still cooked his ass, as the F430 and the Z51 have times that are more in favor of the STOCK Z51... even in the 1/4... with the Z51 puling the 1/4 in 12.4@116 while the F430 pulls it in 12.5@116 . Motor Trend Forum The Birth of SASHA.. C7 Z51, 7Speed Man, NPP, 3LT.. Ported Throttle Body, CAI.. and the mods stop there. Stock HP at 460/465lbs of torque.. 1.11 g cornering, 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds, ironically, when operating as a 3.1-liter V-4, the LT1 produces 126 hp and 221 lb-ft at 3000 rpm which is enough to maintain 90 mph on flat ground. That’s stock. This car has not been dynode.. but the idea is that with the throttle body mod and CAI I should be easily in the same relm as the C6 Z06 in terms of HP. This is definetly faster than Katya was.. seat of the pants.. maybe.. but it comes off the line and accelerated in a way that most AWD supercars wish they could. Put it to U like this.. I loved my Katya. She did everything U’d see in the raunchiest porno….. but Sasha takes it to the next level. She bring 3 girlfriends to the party… and U don’t need to convince any of them to take it up 9 notches. The Look is more exotic than most Ferraris. The Interior makes Jaguars look like Fords again. The Performance embarrasses fools who spent twice and thrice the price. Quite frankly GM could, and should repackage this, with a bump in base power to about 500.. 8 speed transmission and 7speed man.. even more upscale leather and lace.. ELR looks, and Hard or Soft-Top, no coupe.. They could legitimately charge $75K out the door, in the way they have with the ELR, but to much more success.

I agree with this. I don't understand why it isn't an option thru-out. ON a side note... I went out side yesterday just to see.. and plugged my Roku HD into the composites and turned on my Android Hotspot (Free) to connect and was able to view Netflix as if I were sitting in the living room

Rumorpile: Cadillac LTS To Debut At New York: Comments
Cmicasa the Great replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
Exactly what I've been saying. Before the ATS came along, I not once saw a review get into how important backseat room was. The ATS scored high in those reviews.. and then loss because of a dynamic that was always a non-issue. Not once do I remember the E90s being held up high because of their backseat room.. or penalized when compared to the, at the time, out of place oversized competitor CTS, which certainly had a larger back-seat. When it comes to the 3series, C&D, MT etc will go outta their way to make it #1- 68 replies

The bottom line is that the ELR, as sexy hot and luxo as it is should have been priced at no more than $60K. GM would have made mad profit on it still. It has NOTHING to do with Cadillac not being able to command $75K for a vehicle. It has to do with any car maker not being able to command $75K for a car that is a compact based on a lower brand and not a sports car. At $75K people expect either a TRADITIONAL luxurious experience, (meaning big and comfy) or a car with some serious speed capabilities. So... that in mind.. 1) If Cadillac had of tuned the ELR to do 0-60 in at least the 4-4.5 range, they could have marketed it as a Sport Coupe.. an exotic one at that, IMO better looking than the i8. 2) If Cadillac had of simply put the ELR's Voltec in a car the size of the CTS or XTS.. or just put it in either and changed the styling slightly, they'd most likely already have Tesla filing for BK. (ok that might be exaggerating) 3) Tesla did both of those things. They made a larger mid-size, slapped an IPAD in the dash and made it dash to 60 in times of 5.9, 5.4, and 4.2 secs based on which battery pack U bought with the car. Keep in mind that the MAJORITY of the Teslas U see on the road are the 5.9sec variety, as my Chevy Impala found out recently literally beating one down and then getting the thumps up from the driver

Precisely. Its one of the reason why I said in another thread that going back to names would fix this issue. I still am not convinced though that the CTS and ATS are failed vehicles despite the 3 week plant closure. I think Cadillac's biggest issue with all of its vehicles, no GM's biggest issue, is that they love to cram down our throats one damn variant of a particular vehicles while the competition goes out of its way to accommodate the individual tastes of its buyers. The Chevy Cruze is a great example of this. It has consistently been one of the top selling cars in the U.S. and Globally. In the U.S. it has had to do that with just a sedan though. It could have easily topped that wretched Corolla if it had of had a Coupe or a Hatch. Up until this model year even the Corolla got to include Matrix sales in it's numbers.. and the Civic still gets a coupe and Si model to help sales along. What would a Cruze SS, hatch, or Coupe do? Same thing goes for Cadillac trying to compete with a 3series Sedan, coupe, wagon, convertible, and M with just an ATS Sedan, and thinking it would win that race. Its preposterous

Dodge News: 2015 Dodge Charger Gets The Hellcat
Cmicasa the Great replied to William Maley's topic in Dodge
The only reason I would ever even THINK THAT.. would be if I had a disdain for 2 door vehicles. The Challenger, RT and above, behind the ANY Camaro, is gorgeous Assumptions are dangerous. Assumption? Re-Read what I typed. " The only reason I would ever even THINK THAT" The key word being " I ", meaning me, and myself knowing exactly the reason why I, as in ME, would consider a Charger over the Challenger.- 17 replies

The thing is that Akerson never actually said that the ELR was the competitor for the Tesla. Quite frankly I think that GM could easily build a competitor for the Tesla S using just the tech they have from the Spark EV. The Spark EV has the highest combined efficiency rating of any EV car for 2013 at 119 MPGe and has an EV range of 82 miles using a 21-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Compare that to the Tesla S which uses a 85 kWh lithium-ion battery pack for 265 miles. Again: 85 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is 265 miles 21 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is 82 miles That means the Spark has an EV pack that is 4X smaller but gets only 3X less range. Easier done. Multiply the Spark's 21kWh pack by 4 and you would have an EV range of 328 miles. Meaning we have another situation where if GM wanted to, they could devour the market. It could be more profitable to simply outshine Tesla with a larger EV with a larger capacity battery than to pay them right now what their inflated Market Cap suggests they are worth. Furthermore Even with an increase of battery capacity I believe ,or at least I've read, that capacity would not necessarily translate in to equal amounts of weight. In other words, a 21 kWh battery is not that much lighter than a 85 kWh battery. If the car that surrounds it is lighter using less weighty materials, which GM has access to, then the bump in weight could be nullified. The only real superior quality the Tesla's battery has is Quick/Super-charging

The Seat vibration alert and lane departure warning can be turned off. It is the first thing I think I did when I bought my new Yukon

Again this car should have been the STS and the ATS should have been the CTS. So many things would have fell better in place. What messed this up was despite the CTS (Gen 1 and 2) always being compared to the 3series because of price.. when the 2nd Gen VSeries debuted they benchmarked and improved on the M5, then all comparisons were towards the M5. That being said.. I LOVED my time in the VSport Short Review from my time at GMI as LovelyMoon back in January Test Drove the CTS-VSport Was actually out on Thursday in the CTS-V Coupe and decided to pay a visit to the Cadillac dealership after seeing that a colleague of mine had 2 days earlier purchased a black 2014 Cadillac CTS-VSport. He took me for a spin in her and constantly commented on how great the strides were that Cadillac had made since the ’95 Eldolrado he last owned in the early 2000s. He was coming from an Audi A6, which he had had for several years, and genuinely seemed to think that the Cadillac purchase was in his words “next level of luxury.” I agreed. The ride led me to embark on locating a V-Sport to test drive myself. A White Diamond on Black 2014 Cadillac CTS 3.6L Twin Turbo V-Sport Premium for $70,990. I did a check on Cadillac’s Website and found that this Premium Model is pretty much maxed out and the only thing that you could really do to push that price up more would be to add the Wood or Red interior for an additional $1650. This is essentially the MSRP of my CTS-V Coupe. Before we get in a hoopla over that, I have to say that getting out of my VSeries and getting into this V-Sport was not as much of a night and day experience in terms of power delivery as one would have thought considering the 126HP difference. My SigmaVseries is 200lbs heavier than the Alpha VSport. That could have accounted for a bit of the lack of shock. Power Delivery: This car moves. I mean moves. I’m not gonna say that it is as fast as my Vseries, but I will say that it has power delivery that seems to come in more instantaneously than the S/C V8. It will snap your neck just as quick as the VSeries too. Think of it as getting punched in the face by the Rock (V-Sport) versus getting punched in the face by John Cena (Vseries). Its kinda of a series of face reconstruction kinda year, if you get my drift. In the 30 minute test drive, not once did I think to myself I miss the power of the Vseries. Not once did I feel as though I wasn’t going to be capable of making a few pre C7 Vette or Porsche drivers feel ashamed if they tried to challenge. Not once did I think that this would not be a nice replacement for a Sigma CTS-V owner if he/she wanted to have something a wee bit less ferocious. With “wee bit” being really wee wee. Interior vs my Interior: OK. I hate situations like this. I bought a CTS-V that stickered in at around $75 large which still came in close to a nicely equipped VSport model . Saying all that, my VSeries was pretty premium with an interior that made Benz, Lexus, Audi, and BMW on lookers salivate and smile while doing it. THIS V-SPORT’S interior kind blows mine away. Suede inserts, much better quality leather, larger Nav screen, CUE!!! (must have been reworked, because I experience absolutely no lag and it worked flawlessly), Heads-Up display, Seat Vibration Alert, the list can go on and on. If my VSeries interior was a 10, this cracks the meter at a cool 13. The only interior I’ve seen that looks as nice is the VSport interior my colleague has due to the Wood accents and the ELR that was parked on the lot next to the tester I drove. Conclusion: If this is indicative of the year over year strides Cadillac has made since the debut of the XTS, then I am fully confident that the Omega Flagship is going to make Benz’s S-Class seem like a down grade from a Benz S-Class to a Hyundai Equus.

1) America exists in and of itself...and we are self destructive, allowing false perceptions and antiquated beliefs lead us killing our entire industrial capacity if it meant saving a foreign one. 2) The Toyota Camry outsells all other cars in it's class by a margin of 3:1. Being #1 only means that there are more POSs Camrys on the road in my effin way Well Stated, Lovely, Truly Lovely! +100 LovelyMoon it is- 68 replies
