  2. I liked the S-Series sedans, but that was back in 1996 when the 2nd generation arrived, and I had even considered buying one. By 2001, it was getting dated. The L-Series was a failure, as with many of the vehicles GM brought over from Europe. Though re-engineered and built in the U.S., the L-Series did not feel feel like a high-quality vehicle, and in the marketplace, it seemed to slot between the Civic/Corolla and Camry/Accord. I do like the VUE, but it also reeks of cheap. Still Saturn was more about the experience/community than the vehicles.

  4. It's a lot better-looking than the outgoing model, and better than the botched CR-V.
  5. The G35 is an incredible value for the performance offered, and Nissan did a significant mid-season upgrade, and a new one is right around the corner. The BMW 3-Series is one of the best cars out there. I've yet to drive the new version, but the last one was a very satisfying drive and worth the money. Of course, a lot of people buy them just for the name.

  12. The exterior is appropriately conservative. Most luxury car styling, and Lexus in particular, is understated. But the new car does look more athletic than the old LS, which had the same basic styling since 1990, and bordered on old-fogey.

  15. They ran on E85, and I think they were 3.1 liter V-6's. The model year may have been 1992. We ran them on ethanol at first, but then we were told not to use it anymore because it was causing mechanical problems.
  16. It's sad, R.I.P. Integra. The Prelude's already gone. These were some the best handling FWD cars ever.
  17. Wow, that Seville Opera Coupe is in sad shape . I hope someone restores it to its former glory. Who doesn't love the Opera Coupe? My love affair with the Opera Coupe started back in middle school. Occasionally I would catch a glimpse of one of the original RWD versions in the school parking lot, as someone's mom drove one. It's was the pinnacle of late '70's/early '80's American luxury racheted up a notch.
  18. I put a lot of miles on 1990 Luminas at work. They were surprisingly good drivers, particularly on the highway. But the interiors were horrible. My favorite W-bodies were the Cutlass Supreme sedan, the Intrigue, and the last generation Grand Prix.

  20. If I were in the market for a big luxury car, this would be it. This should bring down the age for LS buyers. Mercedes is a high-risk proposition these days.

  23. It's been about 7 years since I used one. I hate that loudspeaker thing, and they are not environmentally friendly. I could understand how these things are convenient with parents with young children, though.
