Or was it that the 4-speed that use to back it up crap? Transmissions don't make or create power.
-
I thought the same thing as empowah, it will have the 3.5 with the 4 speed. Then I looked at the press release and it wasn't in there. I know I saw it somewhere. Then I looked at the press release of the 2008 Powertrains. That's where I saw it. Look at it there and it says:

I know it has been on there for a while now, but they have changed it a lot. The site looks better and makes the Malibu look better. Maybe its the detailed pictures that make it look better. All New 2008 Malibu

I found what you were talking about, less hp. That's something that they aren't going to brag about, that's for sure. Even though they aren't, from what I've seen, that big of a difference. Some will notice the change and ask questions.

GM expects 40% mileage boost on big SUV hybrids
Derek77 replied to regfootball's topic in General Motors
IT'S STILL A 4-SPEED!! Not 6 as someone said earlier. And saying it has 4-speeds doesn't mean its a 4L60 either. It's also not a straight out CVT. All the links and articles prove that. -
GM expects 40% mileage boost on big SUV hybrids

Didn't that just prove MY point? It's not a CVT and it's not a 6-speed. It has 2 electrically continuously variable transmission modes combined, or 2 modes, or 2 electric motors, with 4 fixed gears. And what electric motor isn't variable. My RC cars as a kid were variable. If it sounds like I'm fixed on the 4 fixed gears part, I am! Why does GM keep saying in all their releases that it has 4 fixed gears or uses a conventional four-speed automatic transmission combined with two electrically variable transmission modes of operation if its not a 4-speed. Its a 4 speed with, yes, 2 electrically continuously variable modes. -

Man, you've got to post a link or something to prove it's not a 4-speed automatic. Everything GM puts out says it a 4-speed combined with 2 electric motors. You just can't say "from what I understand.." I need proof. -

The USA Today article was very informative. I'm glad GM is thinking of changing the regular Tahoe and Yukon with the weight saving parts of the hybrids. That's a smart move and a good way to increase legroom in the second row. -

And about the Saturn 2-mode model. Isn't it the VUE? I recall GM saying it would be the first with the FWD 2-mode transmission. -

What is a weapon later on down the road? Is the 2-mode a 4 speed? That's what I want to know. Someone said its a 6speed. I thought my link proved they were 4 speeds. What am I missing? -

You mean 4 fixed gears plus the 2 modes? GM to Introduce Two-Mode Hybrid Suvs for 2008 Model Year -

I'm not sure these are 6-speeds. I'm almost positive they are 4s. -

Senators reach agreement on fuel economy

I'm just going to reply on the tax deal. By them saying oil tax it sounds like they are taxing the oil companies. WHEN WILL PEOPLE LEARN THAT COOPERATIONS AND BUSINESSES DON'T PAY TAXES!!!! NONE!! WE PAY THEM!!!!!!!! ALL THEY DO IS PUSH IT OFF TO THE CONSUMER!!!!! -
DAMN!! What track do you go to? I know you exagerated at little, okay, a lot, on your list, but a few things on your list could be taken care of just by bringing a safe vehicle. That's one of the good things about organized racing. I have a problem with #1 though. It shouldn't be drive an hour. It should be drive for several hours. That's the problem in California. NO PLACE TO RACE!!!!!!!
-
Give them a place to race. They've gotten rid of street legal drag racing at local tracks because of the pollution and the noise. What did people think would happen when they moved near a drag strip. I thought I remember reading years ago where the state limited the amount of pollution that can be emitted from a drag strip in one season. I don't know if they passed or an idea.
-
And why do they want "Everyday low prices"? It because of the consumer. The consumer wants low prices, that's what they give them. It's like the chicken and the egg. It goes full circle. You can't point your finger at one thing.

THe article didn't say it was funded, so I don't know. But it did cost us for them to sit around a table and say, "I've got it. A gay bomb." What's a neo-con? I think I know what it is. How come its okay for you to have a political signature and talk about politics when the rule clearly states "2) No political talk. There are plenty of forums on the 'net for that. Lets keep C&G free of political talk." I know your the admin, but things like this and other things make we want to get my auto info from other places. What can we get from the bios of the founding fathers on this? Or what were you trying to say with that statement? I think Mr. Jefferson would say, "Well I told you so." He warned the people of Democracy. The founding fathers warned us of "majority rules". We were never suppose to be a Democracy. Did you know the majority of the people did not want to seperate from the kings rule? Well, most people wouldn't know. On a side note, I heard about this before a couple years ago. Its still funny as hell.
-
Actually, it has to do with the windshield. So far I've heard of leaking and maybe them falling or flying off. The investigation is ongoing.
-
No, that the back-up light. Rear fogs are red, not white. White would blind the hell out of people in the fog, or scare the $h! out of them.
-
But NYC has been talking about this for years now. It's not like it came out of left field. That's why Ford gave them or just made a big deal about them getting Escape Hybrids years ago. It was all apart of Clean Air Taxis Act that they passed in 05 and talked about years before that.
-
As of right now, none of the ones mentioned in the article make any sense. The Lexus RX 400h? Escape? Prius? Where's the Camry? That's the only hybrid out there right now that makes sense. Ford is dumb if they think they can take this with the Escape.
-
That was a good come back.
