  1. Dude, I know IFS can be done well, but the GM full size trucks got smaller front end parts than my freinds wifes Jeep liberty. The HD 3500's should be available with SFA just like Ford and Dodge. I have never had a problem with IFS it works fine on 1/2 tons. I would'nt have anything else in a Z71 off road package.
  2. Don't see a SFA (Dana 60 or 70) in front so I guess we'll have to put up with those car front ends (Junk). It boggles me to see GM build such stellar trucks and put that cheasy IFS in the front end. Its like a 69 Z28 with a straight six.
  3. Brandon, Farm Dudes do work there trucks hard, my best friends family has a farm in North Dakota and GM trucks are all they buy. Here in Colorado I know Ford HD's out sell GM trucks becuase of the front ends. I have had dudes ask me If I bought my HD with a DANA 60 front end in it. When I say we did it they say that if GM did a 3500HD with a SFA they would trade there Dodge or Ford for it. IFS is for 1/2 tons
  4. BTW, If someone cares enough to show me how to post a picture I would show you pics of our HD's. We have installed Dana 60's in some of them. Now the front end don't break. Thanks again.
  5. [quote name='Camino LS6' date='Jan 25 2006, 10:13 AM'] I have been working(not just driving) IFS Chevy trucks since '88 when they came out. Trust me, the IFS doesn't break. The only issue I have with it is that the Factory ride height is too low for snowplowing ( easily fixed by having the torsion bars adjusted a few turns to raise the ride height). Camino LS6 I mean no disrespect but you must not work your GM trucks to hard. My grandfather started buying Chevrolet trucks in the late 40's because they were cheap and easy to fix. He built houses and Barns. I am the 3 gen of our family to build houses and beat the sh*t out of the best Damn Pick-ups in the world. However IFS is junk, We have broke 2 of our 2500HD's the tulip joint will just snap off and the CV's also break. Mind you, this is usually under a hard beating pulling very heavy lumber trailers to remote building sites here in Colorado. I hope GM will build us a 3500HD with an indestructable dana 70 or 60 in the front. They should still build the chic trucks with the IFS you know for all the people that want the truck to ride like a car. I asked my dad once when I was a kid why he didn't buy those really cool 1/2 ton girl chasers. He said to me "boy if I wanted a nice ride I would buy a Cadilac". Both dad and grandpa retired and bought Cadilacs.... Thanks for lettin me vent fella's
  6. Lets remember this guys. They are repeating what we have heard for quite a while. There is at least 1 volume sedan on this same platform, a Chevy. There may also exist a Buick and Pontiac sedan. Also there could EASILY be different wheelbases, STS vs CTS ring a bell. A LWB GTO coupe is not out of the question. Lets remember GM doesn't have the money rolling around to just make expensive concepts with no intention of producing them! There is a reason for this concept and that reason is to see how the public reacts to a cartoon version of the exterior, like the Torana did for the VE cars. Public is reacting well and that bodes VERY well for the business case! To Lutz, GM I will buy one maybe two. Lets roll Dudes I am waiting. Untill then I will keep beating my 96. B)
  7. Well said Buickman, I was wondering how much of Dudes attitude you would take.
  8. I have been saving up for the new Camaro, so now if it dos'nt come I will buy the challenger. The GM ship is listing bad and I will push women and children out of the way to jump ship. The challenger rocks "Build It"
  9. [quote name='avant1963' date='Nov 21 2005, 05:05 AM'] Just wanted to throw a little tid bit on the 2005 Nextel Cup winner Tony Stewart. While yesterday’s race was not a stellar one for Smoke, he did what he had to do to win it all, and with a much better attitude than 2002. Chevy also won the NASCAR manufacturers title in 2005. The “boo” of the day goes to Dodge. Some Dodge teams actually brought the 2004 Intrepid bodies with them for the Homestead race since the flying brick-suckerfish of a Charger just wasn’t getting it done. And imagine if it was real stock car racing and you had to use the Charger’s actual silhouette? http://www.nascar.com/2005/news/headlines/...d.ap/index.html (And yes, if it was real "stock" car racing I'd rather have a RWD to go around the track other than a FWD MCSS or Fusion. I'm just making a note that the 2006 Dodge Charger is, from a 200MPH wind tunnel perspective, not the slickest piece of metal.) Man, Nascar was way better when the bodies were not silhouettes.
