Actually no. Holden already puts a Chevy emblem on the Commodores going to the Middle East, so the Chevy face is already available.

... after 20 years of waiting, I'm a bit disappointed to hear that I won't be getting an El Camino. That GM has given, or plans to give, the VE ute to another brand other than Chevy. I need some time to think this over. So please use this thread to make the case for the Ute as a Chevy,Pontiac, or GMC. I'll just sit back and read for a while. Let's not make it a debate though, just state your position and support it. Thanks.

In our market, it's just foolish to name it anything but El Camino. That's the bottom line for me on this.

What a waste of the El Camino name as everyone will still call the new one El Camino. Few remember the Caballero, fewer still the Sprint, and even fewer the Pontiac "experiments". Won't stop me though! And here I thought a new Chevy was in my future!

While this would be a bad idea, I doubt it would prevent a purchase on my part. I happen to like Pontiacs. And I loved the original Sprints from GMC. Others may not take it so well, however.

That I'll be able to order a new El Camino SS fairly soon. But, I'm thinking that I'll probably hold-off until the second production year. With all of the drivetrain advances happening so fast lately, I have a feeling that an engine upgrade will happen in the second or third year. Opinions? Other ideas/concerns? Another factor is that I'd like to be able to pay cash for it and I'll need some time to make that happen.

Well, I still have my doubts about the Aurora reaching classic status though it broke the mold when new. And I like Jensen Interceptors too. :AH-HA_wink:
