  1. Hate to be blunt, but I won't miss 'em a bit. :AH-HA_wink:
  2. The winning candidate will likely already be mine before I get to posting about it. :AH-HA_wink:
  3. Nope! That car is in extremely original condition, I even believe the miles on it. Trust me, I've looked at a ton of them and this one is very right - if a little plain.
  4. The '69 is a very original, straight, unmolested car. But, it is a plain Jane. The other two are more complicated and if the SS is real and #s matching much more desireable/valuable when done. Those two cars have certainly been molested though, and I have doubts aplenty.
  5. I'm liking this one too: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/El-Camino-1...1QQcmdZViewItem
  6. There are some Issues for sure... mostly paperwork that could take 30 days or more to work out. But there are pluses too. The auction includes both cars.
  7. I think for the most part that "hip" happens on its own and can't be reliably created. I trhink GM's best hope for hip is creating more and more cars worthy of the description.

  9. ...and the naysayers club chimes in. Time to do a little recruiting,eh? Or just can't resist an opportunity to add a negative twist? 1. The e-mail is real and has been confirmed 2. The question of the Honda exec making the statement should be asked of Edmunds, as they are the source, not GM. 3. The members who posted/confirmed the e-mail should not be discredited by idle pessimism as they are known and credible sources. To suggest otherwise borders on offensive. 4. For a GM exec to forward the e-mail from edmunds to the troops as an "atta-boy" internally within GM is a natural and positive thing. 5. The Volt is not mere theory, to suggest that it is doesn't do the concept justice. It is based on a real architecture, presents a genuinely new approach to hybrid technology, is a do-able vehicle with the one limitation of the battery tech, and is obviously being considered as a production vehicle by GM. Witness the poll asking if it should be built on chevy.com . Even if it isn't bound for production ultimately, it's still a groundbreaking concept and is to be applauded.
  10. Rat Rods aren't really my thing, but that primer black pickup just oozes cool.
  11. No offense intended, but you should spend a little more time getting to know the folks on this board before indicting them. The e-mail in question exists and the circumstances have been explained to you. A great many folks on this board are employed directly or indirectly by GM, or have industry connections as well as an established credibility here. Once you get to know who they are you might not be so quick to judge. Know the sources and you will have a more complete perspective on the information. As for the Volt, to call it mere theory doesn't do it justice. If you've read enough about it, you should already know that. Take some time and get to know this site and its members a bit better and I think you will come to understand the situation a bit more clearly.
  12. '67-'69 Firebird Much cheaper to buy than a Camaro, but have many parts in common and have real value when done. Plus PHS can tell you exactly how irt came from the factory. I've considered this project many times over the last few years.
  13. Whew! Can I ever relate to that!
  14. Could be. :AH-HA_wink: At least I won't be afraid to try to view them anymore.
  15. Yes, the gasket is the one that goes between the block and the pump (oil). Did you scroll down on that one page and see where the guy was selling a complete engine for your car?
  16. check out this link http://www.classicoldsmobile.com/forums/pa...gine-trans.html
  17. If I'm reading the Kanter listing correctly, the Cutlass pump should be the same as yours.
  18. Found the pump http://www.kanter.com/p13-fp.html
  19. Found the right gasket. http://www.innerauto.com/store/buy.php?mak...mp;s=1&my=1
  20. Here's one for a '64 Cutlass. http://replacement.autopartswarehouse.com/...ump&dp=true
  21. Scared? No, most wild animals avoid humans. I've been in the woods with black bears and a host of other wild creatures without incident. Mountain Lions would be a bit more dicey to deal with though, and I never want to have a run-in with a grizzly or Polar bear. Grizzlies have a nasty disposition and Polar bears see humans as lunch. The Mountain Lion attack is unusual though, and I'd love to see one in the wild.
  22. How did I miss this thread? I can't believe you are going for a non-hardtop! The '59 does look good, though. Fix the #@$# fuel pump in the Olds, can't be too tough to get done. Shouldn't they be available somewhere still?
  23. Fiber-optic lines to carry voice, TV, and data. Way fast.
  24. Well I finally talked with the owner/builder today. I got a better idea of how it all came together and my firewall worries were unfounded. It seems that Holden just glues the right firewall into the front of the structure for each vehicle they build. Yup, they glue in. He has built at least 4 of these and plans a Crewman version for his wife! Very cool. My kingdom for an unlimited budget!
