  1. I'm guessing Z. just meant the F-85, not the turboed version.
  2. So, after years of painfully slow dialup and broadcast TV I'm finally moving to high-speed internet and 200 channels of TV. I won't know how to act.
  3. Corvette parts hunt?
  4. I plan to make this show as well as the Spring Carlisle event this year.
  5. Lack of a rear bumper doesn't scare me given that about 50% of the Ute's steel structure would be between me and harm. Finding the parts to make repairs would be another story though. I wasn't really on the hunt when I saw this, but I had to consider it. :AH-HA_wink: I really need to take my time before I buy any more cars, selling-off a few more of the ones I have would be nice to do first. We shall see.
  6. So many vehicles, so little time. Thanks for the lead.
  7. BatmanVW will be joining us.
  8. I never met anyone so determined to be negative. You sure are something Evok.
  9. BuddyP, we all appreciate the info you bring to us and respect your position in this entirely. Please, don't let a noob's overzealous reaction prevent you from posting things like this in the future.
  10. No, there are quite a few small differences in the front beyond the fascia. But, the main change is the conversion from right hand drive to left hand drive. That's where my firewall concerns come from.
  11. No more compliments for you,NOS!
  12. The car is based on a next gen Cobalt platform, so I expect that we will be hearing more as time goes by. The attention focused on this car from all quarters amounts to a great deal of pressure for Chevy to throw us a bone in the form of information sooner rather than later. Look for more information to come from a variety of sources.
  13. As I understand it the HD light truck Allison trans is the same one used in the med. duty trucks.
  14. Go back and re-read the posts. The existence of the e-mail within GM is confirmed by members that work for GM. They cannot and should not reveal more than they have without risking their jobs. It would be pointless to do so anyway.
  15. The way I read it was that the first 250 to sign up get on the list and that they will check at the door.
  16. This is a relatively minor issue (now being resolved) and a far cry from failing suspension components. Shouldn't have happened, but not something that impacts the quality of the car.
  17. Relax everyone. This has all the earmarks of a casual e-mail communication with candor not meant for public consumption. The story, while purely anecdotal, seems plausible enough for casual conversation. I could see an exec venting frustration with a perceived unwillingness on the part of his company to do something he sees as important making comments like this. Remember, this was not part of a published article just a casual e-mail. Also remember that it was sent around GM as an internal e-mail not issued in a press release. GM is not stupid nor desperate, and Edmund's may have made an error in being so candid, but I see no grand conspiracy here.
  18. Fear is the likely reason for the lack of bids. As far as being a heavily modified vehicle goes, that would depend on how exactly it was built. It could be a near-production spec vehicle if no major structures had to be modfied with a torch and weld procedure (even then it could be just fine). My major question is the firewall and if it had to be cut out and replaced to effect the conversion or not (lots of room for error there). Otherwise, it would be a simple nut and bolt conversion using production parts. For repair, anything mechanical would be no problem. The only fear would be rear-end collision damage and the questions an insurance company might have.
  19. Mostly because I need to practise a little "fiscal restraint" right now. I am also still hopeful for a Zeta El Camino and would rather wait for that. Finally, I want to mess with older (and less expensive ) cars for a while. Might still call the guy.
  20. I think I'm going to let this one get away.
  21. You have a point, but I place a value on "as found" vehicles that haven't been puffed-up. All depends on what you are looking for.

  23. This idea is beyond stupid! Have we forgotten Delphi? NO!
  24. The two-tone is a bit strange, but the car looks straight, solid, and complete.
  25. Just let me know.
