  1. They only cost about half that amount when I priced them shortly after getting the GTO.
  2. Actually, it was an available option on Monaro and Commodore and GM approved. I would put one in my GTO if it was in the current budget. The sunroof was part of a group of options called collectively "Holden by Design" or HBD.
  3. It would seem that GM had a case of temporary deafness when the concept version of this rolling mistake was shown last year. The reaction all over the web was a resounding "Are you out of your mind?!!" Yet, they are going to build this hideous design failure and put a premium badge on it to boot. Sorry Hyper, this is not a case of style vs,. style - it's bad design pure and simple. I can't wait for the end of the G6. Horrible, just horrible.
  4. I find it very significant that the Volt is badged as a Chevy. Think about it. :AH-HA_wink:
  5. "The kingdom has a snapper!"
  6. I wouldn't be so sure about all that if I were you.
  7. Thanks GMT. The buyer deals in collector cars so it will eventually be re-sold. I just hope that it will always be treated as a collector car and never a daily driver from now on. I want to feel like I did right by the car. It left the driveway for the last time about 45 minutes ago.
  8. Agreed. I am already on record as saying I would consider buying this car to use on short trips and everyday errands rather than driving my 2500HD to do those things.
  9. It's about time they got caught. I am very pleased at the grief they are getting for this.
  10. I love it. It's brilliant. Would I rather have a Camaro? Sure. But putting cars like this into production will help cars like Camaro to remain available. Call it a symbiotic relationship. Don't compare the Volt to Camaro 68, compare it to the zit on wheels called the Prius. Then you begin to see the Volt's beauty.
  11. No, but I would like to give it a new classification: Performance Compact Sports Compact is just too ricey to work and I think the Cobalt takes things up a notch.
  12. I agree that Camaro and Mustang fall between Sports Car and Musclecar: to me that defines Pony Car. The Original 'Cudas and Challengers stradle the line between Pony Car and Musclecar. I lean toward calling them Musclecars, but I can see the other side of that argument. Have to disagree on the Sky and Solstice though, while a Roadster can have 4 seats a Sportscar can't. Notice too that Sports Car and Sportscar can be used interchangeably, so I think there are no completely right answers to be had.
  13. Not your fault NOS, people apply descriptions to cars that don't really fit all the time. Also, the range of types of car changes too. I tend to be more narrow in how I define each type. For instance: Camaro and Mustang are not, and have never been, musclecars by my criteria. They are Pony Cars. Along with cars like the AMX. The MB CLS is not a coupe. The VW Phaeton wasn't. These are Sports Cars: Vette, Viper, Sky,Solstice,Miata, MG,Austin-Healey,Ford GT, Lotus Elise... These are Musclecars: Chevelle SS, 442,GTO, Buick GS,GN,GSX,GNX, Charger(original),Roadrunner, Ford Thunderbolt...
  14. Now there's a post I can believe in.
  15. No. But I have a very narrow view of what Sports Car means. Your dad's list would be cut in half with my definition. Cobalt SS Supercharged is very definitely a performance car but not a sports car in my opinion.
  16. Wow! Ignorance all around.
  17. I just hope, since I can't keep it, that I have at least secured its future as a collector car and not some clapped-out beater 10 years down the road.
  18. Thanks guys. I almost can't wait for it to go onto the trailer, knowing it is still in my garage is kinda tough. For the curious: The price ended up being just a sneeze over 30k with the scripted wheels added to the deal. Now to sell the others... ... man this is making me tired. And yet... ... I can't wait to go car hunting again. Yes, I know I'm a sick puppy.
  19. It's a cash deal- so that works. It's going to smart for a while though. Time to pay some bills.
  20. Accepted an offer this morning.
  21. If/When Cuba opens up to the world, there will be a treasure trove of classic American cars on the market! :AH-HA_wink:
  22. Happy belated, Mr. Croc.
  23. Welcome! We are glad to have you.
  24. Could be,Fly. Cuba will change, the question is how and how fast.
  25. The GMT400s especially the '95 Tahoe.
