  1. Shopping List - windsheild - hood - trim for left 1/4 panel - dashpad - set of Corvette-style rally wheels - filler pieces for rear bumper - interior light -turn signal lens'
  2. Ummm... thanks. I think?
  3. Well I do have that strange little Italian car in the garage...
  4. A change in overall wheel/tire diameter can also cross-up your car's computer if you don't get it re-programed/chipped to deal with the change. With a computer-controlled car you have to be careful about this.
  5. I won't know which V8 it has 'til I get a look at it. IIRC, in '77 you could only get a 305 in a Camino - I'll have to check my references about that. Anyway, there's no reason to think that the engine is original anyway, so it will be a surprise. No 502s for this one. This car will just be a nice cruiser - I'll go nuts on another one someday.
  6. Thanks NOS.
  7. Sorry man, without paint the air here in PA will eat the car alive - so no patina. Anyone notice the bullet hole in the tailgate?
  8. OK, now to respond to everyone else. No, I won't SSify it - I don't like clones BP: That is one cool custom! I don't think this one is going to be a hot rod though. Schuby and Detroit Nut: Thanks! OCN: you can count on those pics. No, this will not wear the Spacetruck name. Funny thing though, yesterday when I walked into the local Wawa, Spacetruckin by Deep Purple was playing on their satellite radio.
  9. That's what I'm hoping,Z. We'll see how sound it is when it gets here, but I think it should be pretty good. Would you be willing to go take a look at a parts car on L.I. for me? I think I'd like to buy it, but that's a long way to go just to be disappointed. Let me know.
  10. It doesn't have the wood panels. I'll have to see what the status of the engine really is once it gets here. I'm thinking that I'll get it running right, put some decent wheels on it, add the missing parts, paint it in original colors and bring the interior back to decent.

  12. Yeah, I want this one completed. Too bad it's so cold, or I could really make some progress.
  13. Somehow I knew this thread would end-up in the gutter. The cool thing about these bedsides is that they actually bolt-on. then they are secured by a few welds. The hard part is likely to be getting the old ones off (breaking the welds).

    heretic!!!

I'd rather see that engine between the fenders of a classic bowtie. Kind of a waste...
  15. Wise decision, well done! May the Bowtie be with you!
  16. I saw this on CZ28 weeks ago and forgot to post it here. I can't remember for sure, but I think that the 450HP is an official GM #.
  17. I remember that one,Mouse! That Camino has a serious attitude!
  18. Why do you think I'm looking for help?! Actually, they aren't all that heavy, just huge and hard to handle.
  19. ... hang some new bedsides on my crew cab? Just picked-up some brand new GM bed sides for the Mothertruck.
  20. I can't remember,Croc. But I just remembered another highlight of the trip: Venice Beach! What an entertaining freakshow!

  22. Well said.
  23. It was quite a while ago, before the riots I think. It was in an apartment complex just off of the 405 on Sepulveda,I think. The stench only appeared on the day that I left, but it was BAD !
  24. I don't know what I said back when this thread was new (I didn't review), but right now it looks like : NEW : El Camino SS USED : El Camino I think it's time.
