  1. It's also an EV thing... manufacturers seem to think an EV has to be different and offer fancy features you don't see on normal vehicles, like the stupid door handles on the Mach-E, etc. I like panoramic sunroofs w/ an opening section and sliding shades, but don't see the point of a huge glass roof in a truck. It's a truck, not a luxury car.
  2. That's assuming these were already sold to consumers and not just dealer inventory...
  3. 'handsome' might be a better term for the truck..
  4. I'm sure the insurance will cover the losses and GM will build more.
  5. There is no set definition of beauty, it's objective and in the eye of the beholder. Some vehicles may be beautiful to some and not to others.
  6. Not sure why they would need the terrarium feature, maybe so the A/C runs more and depletes the battery faster? Also helps push up the price.
  7. Been busy the last week, wrapping up a project at work and starting a new project. I did watch the reveal last week of the new '22 2-row WL Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee 4xe hybrid. Looks good, definitely evolutionary from the WK2 and basically a shorter version of the L with shorter wheelbase and less rear overhang. Same interior sans 3rd row. I like it, looking forward to seeing it in person and test driving one eventually. I've seen a few of the 3 row Ls out and about, not up close though. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a37774950/2022-jeep-grand-cherokee-revealed/
  8. I got a few of the AW square bodies back in the summer...incl. the green 4x4...will have to dig them out and post a pic.
  9. It's 2 inches longer than the Trax and over a foot shorter than the Equinox...I'm thinking they need something with a normal CUV form factor, not potato shaped... From what I've heard, Chevy will be getting a larger EUV, one that is Lyriq sized (Lyriq is between the Nox and Travy in size). Buick and GMC likely will as well, in typical GM fashion.
  10. Chevy needs an ECUV in the Equinox size range at a reasonable price...the Bolt is too tiny.
  11. The rear bumper on that Seville looks like it's been pulled in tighter than normal. Always liked the long hood/short front overhang and squared off roofline of these...definitely see styling cues that appeared on other GM models later...the rear reminds me of a smaller version of the early 80s Olds 88..
  12. He'll have to wait for the Rivian MAX with an extra two feet of headroom and two feet of legroom..
  13. Dog guy looks like he has been out in the sun way too much and is/was a big drinker...
  14. I think '73 was the best year for rear ends of all of the Colonnades--- Malibu, Monte Carlo, Grand Prix, Le Mans, GTO, Grand Am, Regal/Century, Cutlass, etc. '73s had 'small' tight fitting rear bumpers..the Olds esp. looked good from behind. Some of them did the front bumper better than others... the one front detail I thought that looked bad on all the Colonnades were the large dual round headlights, which seemed like a cost-cutting move...cars that large looked better w/ quad round headlights, IMO. I like the front of the '76-77 Cutlasses, but they smoothed out the sides and lost their distinctive creases on the coupes (the 4drs kept them). I esp. like the '76-77 Cutlass S/442 sloping nose w/ the fastback roofline.
  15. Mitsubishi Mirage may be the only other US market super cheap tiny car. https://www.mitsubishicars.com/mirage/2021
  16. Unusual story about squirrels stashing 42 gallons of walnuts in a Chevy Avalanche... https://www.autoblog.com/2021/09/30/squirrel-fills-truck-walnuts/?icid=autoblog|trend|squirrel-stashes-42-gallons-of-walnuts-in-a-chevrolet-avalanche
  17. After only putting 1500 miles on my Jeep between March '20 and June of this year, I've put 2k on it since June...every weekend since Labor Day I've gone to different Lake Erie beaches and state parks along the North Coast. Have just over 53k miles now and it's running great.
  18. The '73 Cutlass 'El Camino' is interesting looking..needs paint. Interesting how the front end looks without the nasty '73 front bumper...
  19. Out and about on a rainy Sunday morning, saw a tired looking pearl white 2nd gen Avalanche for sale, w/ some rust around the rear wheel arches and corroded chrome wheels.
  20. Another beach day yesterday, saw a sharp dark red mid 60s Corvette Stingray convertible on the freeway, top down. Saw a rumbly black late model Camaro ZL1 convertible. Also a very clean white w/ no vinyl top '69-70 Grand Prix on the freeway.
  21. Chevy Spark. Starting from $13400. I wonder if any exist at that price, though.
  22. ^ mini-PLCs on the Vega H-platform. Automakers went crazy for PLCs of all sizes in the late 70s, these were GM's answer to the Mustang II Ghia.
  23. Yeah, it's not for everyone. Since my work product is in the cloud, and I'm fairly misanthropic, it works well for me. I'm able to focus albeit with taking periodic breaks.
  24. Not on the road, but on tv..while watching the first episode of season 4 of ‘Goliath’, I saw a Lucid Air in a brief scene being used as an Uber Black-style service car in San Francisco.
  25. True that..radical styling and proportion changes in a short span...then park a '63 there, so much change from '53 to '58 to '63... just 10 years between '53 and '63, yet it's like 30 years of styling difference from the tall humpy late 40s-early 50s themes to the squared off lower-longer-wider early 60s... That garage reminds me of a guy a few streets over from me--has a mint early 50s Lincoln and early 60s Lincoln in his garage, and a mid 90s Town Car and recent MKS in his driveway..
