Having DI in the Cruze, especially in the turbo models, would have allowed them taller top gears for highway Cruzing speeds.

Get that back by running a 6-speed or CVT instead of a 4-speed....

The 4-cylinder 4-speed auto Alero was able to manage 34-35 mpg also.

A 5mph difference doesn't create a 5mpg difference. Something else was afoot on the trip up.

K5 Blazer Design Contest We Have a Winner! GMC K5 Jimmy by Z28Lvr01 We had a bunch of excellent entries for this design contest, but our judge has ruled the above design the winner. Based on the GMC Sierra All-Terrain, this two door off-road brute also has a removable top very similar to the hardtop offered on the Wrangler. Most likely construction material would be fiberglass, but a high grade plastic is a possibility for weight savings. Instead of having it bolted through the bedrails like the original, it would clamp down or utilize some sort of rail system that could allow for aftermarket/accessory tops (tent, anyone?) to be easily mounted to it. Fixed. Mitsubishi has even announced the termination of the Eclipse now. The only compact coupes left are the Civic and Forte.
