  1. I just wonder the mileage on it. $1500 doesn't get you a lot of truck here.
  2. It's a long term investment for me. Ideally, I want to acquire more in the future. The building I'm working on is 4 units. 2, two bedrooms, 1 one bedroom, 1 efficiency, 5 garages. On these 307s, I can generally just give the valve cover bolts 1/2 a turn with a socket wrench and it'll buy me some time.... that can only be done so many times. The owner said he's never done that before and the valve cover gasket leak is still very minor, so I'd probably have some meat to work with there.
  3. hmm
  4. More than I can spend right now and 4100 = non-starter for me.
  5. I'm still aiming for an Avalanche.... this would be a transitional vehicle. Right now I'm stuck in a catch-22. Most of the time after work I don't have a vehicle. I also have an apartment building that is mostly vacant and in need of repairs. Right now I just need reliable way to get me and my tool boxes to my apartment buildings when I don't have the CR-V. Further, I refuse to finance a vehicle. Buying an Avalanche means saving up $15k cash, which I just can't do when I'm paying the mortgage on a vacant apartment building. I could spend $2500 on a $h!ty ass Cavalier and hate it. I could spend $2500 on a 295k 1987 S-10 with a rusted through bed. Or I could spend $2500 on this and drive it till I can afford an Avalanche then garage it and have my "play" vehicle. I do agree that the price is a bit more than what it should be... but it's in very good condition for a 26 year old vehicle. None of the issues are a surprise. As for the performance... keep in mind that my "dream" car is an '85 Toronado....
  6. $2500 Needs: A/C work Valve cover gaskets Radio Rear bumper fillers 135k miles, same owner for the last 20 years. Thoughts?
  7. Welcome! Hope you enjoy yourself here!
  8. Let me ask this... is there something wrong with that wheel? Upgrade the materials, but... it's a steering wheel with some extra controls.... is there really better/worse in terms of functionality?
  9. Do that enough and you've turned the Corvette into a Traverse.
  10. Volkswagen Of America Announces 10.6 Percent Increase For June Sales And A 12th Consecutive Month Of Growth Golf and Jetta SportWagen Models Drive the Brand HERNDON, Va., July 1, 2010— Volkswagen of America, Inc. today reported June 2010 sales of 21,051 total units, for a 10.6 percent increase over June 2009, and its twelfth consecutive month of sales growth. For the year-to-date, Volkswagen’s sales have risen 29.9% versus the same timeframe in 2009. The sporty Golf posted its strongest month ever with 1,570 units sold, a 187 percent increase compared with June 2009. The award-winning TDI® Clean Diesel version of the Golf also posted a best-ever sales performance. Volkswagen’s line of Jetta SportWagens showed their strongest month ever, with 2,516 units, up 26.9 percent compared with June 2009. Similarly, the Passat Wagon had its best month since December, 2008, with sales of 341 units, up 204 percent compared with June 2009. “While consumers across the industry appear to have been more restrained in June, Volkswagen continued to show strong performance across our full line of new models,” said Mark Barnes, Interim-President, Volkswagen of America, Inc. “In our twelfth month of year-over-year sales growth, we see clear evidence that customers are discovering the incredible breadth and depth of the Volkswagen brand in the U.S. They are responding favorably to our value, fuel economy, design and driving experience.”
  11. Happy B-day Ted
  12. Just in time for your birthday Camino... some more evidence to make your case that Pontiac should build the G8 ST for the U.S. That's two... count 'em TWO dirtbikes in the trunk of a Firebird.
  13. Well now picking out Xmas gifts for him will be easy.
  14. Just now saw a car that was full of fail. It was a Vega GT, the engine sounded pretty badass, but the body was in shambles. It was this same color, But then the owner took a paint roller to it to try and make a General Lee.
  15. I think that's some real competition to least ergonomic dash ever..
  16. It does have cooled seat. I didn't like them at first, but I put it on for the drive home last night in lieu using the A/C. Once I got used to it, it was quite comfortable.
  17. Rear visibility, like in all of the Lambdas is decent for this size of car. The rear parking camera helps a lot. The side mirrors seem to have the top outer corner lopped off and it feels like there is a small blind spot in that part of the mirror that really should be there. The Enclave is very very quiet. Engine noise is non-existent at idle. Very muted at highway speed. I'll get back to you about the long drive comfort. As with all the other Lambdas, very easy to get in and out of. Turning radius is very good. The vehicle feels very maneuverable for something of this size. In fact, I think it's easier wheeling the Enclave around a parking lot than the Malibu was.
  18. So far I've been doing 98% city/suburban driving and the computer says I'm doing 15.1mpg It rolls more than the Acadia in turns, it's no sports car.. or even a sporty CUV. If you're looking for that, this isn't your vehicle. This is all about comfort, smoothness, and quiet. It's going to be a very comfortable trip down to DC tomorrow.
  19. Indeed.... almost Toyota like.
  20. Isn't May typically the best sales month of any normal year?
  21. ..... although.... as a wagon it would be a decent work vehicle for me and I'd always have my tools with me in the back.......
  22. Meh. If you're going to be a really eclectic Frenchman you need a Citroen.
  23. Yeah, they sold more with 50% fewer brands than they sold last year at this time, but I'm still not happy with the spin.
