1. Really? That doesn't sound right. Hitting another car head on that is also going 40mph has got to have more force than hitting a wall at 40mph.
2. A demonstration video of two Saab 9-5s crashed into each other at slight offset with each car going 60kph (about 40mph) for a 120kph (80mph) total impact speed. The passenger compartment remains incredibly intact and all four doors are still able to open after the impact.
3. The only thing that leaves me cold about the Lambo and the Aston is sure they sound powerful, but they don't seem to have any personality. It's slightly off topic, but still GM made. Scroll forward to 3:55 to skip all the chatter and hear the startup. <param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385">
4. From the thread title, I was hoping for expecting a completely different subject
5. The rest of the results are posted here. Sorry, I can't get the chart to format to this website properly or I'd post it here directly.
6. Blah... Dodge Grand Caravan because I''m retrieving lots of office equipment from our closed office there. Albert is staying here.
7. Staying put.... but Tuesday morning I'm making what is likely my final run to Columbus for work.
8. I'm sure you were just filled with rapture on that one... Where was talk years ago about how Microsoft wanted to combine the portability of Windows CE with the user friendliness of Windows ME and the security of Windows NT...... but they got stuck between a rock and a hard place.
9. Wheel bearing or CV joint.
10. I don't think anyone here was arguing the other way. I just want an efficient process to document them properly and let them work for at least the legal minimum wage.
11. 2:26 seconds, but I'm also a terrible typist.
12. Well maybe both? I know the ignition recall was the one that caught fire in people's garages.... my other grandmother's Escort did that, but they caught it smoking and had it towed out. It didn't have cruise control.
13. I think that was the ignition system, not the cruise control switches....
14. Apparently my local DSG is teh suck. I stopped in one near the bike trail yesterday and they don't carry even Rollerblade parts much less the blades themselves! Though they do sell guns in this location just 5 miles from downtown Pittsburgh....
15. I mean, I don't want them to look like this: Mine are a black shell, wheels, and frame, with a dark blue inner boot
16. I do it as an alternative to jogging.
17. The losses on the automotive company bailouts could only be $34b if GM's value went to zero. Since even in liquidation that wouldn't be possible, the $34b is just a big number meant to scare people. Even skeptical analysts peg GM's value at around $68b, which makes the Government's share a little over $41 billion.
18. Yesterday I broke out the rollerblades for the season.... the pair I have, I've owned since 1997. I got out to the bike trail, strapped them on, and *SNAP*, two straps broke. Anyone have any suggestions for a set of replacement blades that are good quality but don't look like I belong on the set of Dragonball Z?
19. Happy Birthday everyone!
20. If it's a mini-poll, I'm disqualified.
21. Why would I need to? I've never had trouble finding someone do to it for me.... this is one area where I favor outsourcing the work...
22. This line stood out to me: This ignores the fact that people without insurance are less likely to seek out treatment for an illness before it gets to emergency status. The number I would want answered is: "How many of the uninsured received emergancy treatment for something that started off as a minor illness and was left untreated until the ER visit?"
23. Damn that Matador is ghastly!
24. I don't agree with their methods. They are more concerned with the continuation of the organization than with the results they get. They spend a huge amount of their donations on swanky parties with D.C. elites.
25. Number 6 is only half right I think.... the lower half...
