  1. I'd keep the Nitro, Magnum <class by itself>, and .... I've changed my mind on the Commander. Done right, and with better marketing, it could be a great Jeep product to go up against the Land Cruiser and Land Rover.
  2. Accord/Odyssey/TL - all cough up transmissions between 40k and 80k 4-cylinder camrys/corollas/Rav4s - all have major sludge issues RX has steering wheels that fall off 4-runner loses it's front ball joint
  3. What's that? The Avenger EXT?
  4. GMC is the most profitable rebadge this side of an ES330.
  5. I'm getting the the point where 68 is. I am in a position I am completely bored in and am beginning to resent being stuck in it. They pay a very large bonus ever year on February 15th. I was only eligible for 1/4 of the bonus last year, however, if I multiply last years bonus by 4, it is easily a large enough number to want to stay. I'm on call this week which means I have a pager... which means I get a page every time some server somewhere gets a hangnail. Did I mention they only get hangnails between the hours of 3am and 4am, when I'm in the shower, mowing the lawn, or in the middle of something... more personal? Last night the pager was going off while I was trying to cook dinner because the server wasn't downloading files that weren't going to be looked at till the next morning anyway. Resume was updated yesterday <both US and EU versions>. It's being sent out today.
  6. Lets play which one of these is not like the other, which one of these isn't the same.
  7. That's a nice update. Makes it almost look Landroverish
  8. I agree with 68 here. The new Lacross grill, in person, majorly improves the look of the car. I saw an Enclave, 08 Lacross, and 07 Lucerne sitting next to each other in the lot. The Lucerne suddenly looks very dated.
  9. So because you've never experienced it, it doesn't exist. I've never seen the Grand Canyon in person....I've heard about it, people have told me about it.... but I haven't seen it myself.... so it must not exist. Chrysler Hemi? Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes sell what they know. I'm sure if they put their minds to it, they could come up with an pushrod that might compete with the LSx or Hemi engines. Out of that group of brands, there are very few engines that stand out. Nothing from Lexus stands out as an excellent engine. Capable, yes, however nothing that makes it special. BMW's I6es deserve praise. Mercedes dropped their I6es. The only Benz engines that come to mind for me are the V6 CDIs. Drive an LS... or heck even a 5.3 Impala SS. GM can do more with less. The fact that GM's V8 runs with the V10s and V12s of other companies while weighing about the same as the I6 and returning better fuel efficiency than ALL of them should tell you something. There just isn't the NHV issue with the LSx, the 5.3, or even the old LT-1 that you seem to think there is.
  10. It was just a flexcar rental.... they don't give ya much choice in transmissions. As for the speedo... if it's not that important why is it the size of a dinner plate?
  11. This is Europe... a Volvo 940 is full sized.
  12. The point of this chop? It's to get GM enthusiasts riled up about how bad of a mistake GM might make. The point of the Traverse however is to help Chevy pick up sales from the Highlander, Pilot, and Edge while the Trailblazer rides off into the sunset to Radiator Springs.
  13. There is a segment of the population to whom that appeals..... and they buy over 500,000 cars a year.
  14. Yes.... I actually wasn't aware that the paddle shifts would work in normal mode, so I only attempted it in sport.
  15. Yeah because the Equinox, Enclave and Escalade all overlap with each other. A year ago you might have an argument using the GMT360s, but most of them are dead now. Reg is talking about 6 very similar SUVs. You'll notice the RAV4, and RX aren't in his list.
  16. not bad from the back. horrid from all other angles.
  17. Buick is alive and well? Hmmm. Pre-Lucerne, Buick had rigamortis Then with Lucerne, it was in a coma, but had a heartbeat Now, with Enclave, it's one step above Terry Schivo. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited by the prospect of a strong and thriving Buick. However, "alive and well" doesn't yet apply. Cadillac isn't even completely well, though very much alive.
  18. Have you actually driven a CTS-V? Even the old one? You automatically disqualify it simply for it's valvetrain layout without actually driving it, compairing it's performance, and comparing it's price......... then you deserve to have to bend over for the BMW dealer both at purchase time and service time. He won't use lube.
  19. Oh all right... you talked me into it. Com'eer big boy...
  20. Does Honda always take press photos with the hood latch popped? OMG Teh PANEL GAPS!@!
  21. long time 5 dolla
  22. lol Drive a Hyundai and get holes in your hands.
  23. also: Power/litre is a red herring.I could just as easily say
  24. A 1996 Buick Roadmaster could creep up behind you and eat you before you knew it was there while at the same time providing 27mpg highway, 5,000lb tow rating, and enough power that police cars used the same drivetrain and many officers would still trade a new Crown Vic for an old Caprice. That is 15 year old technology.... don't say it couldn't be done today.
