  1. nope. nothing has happened. Albert and I just celebrated 11 years together. There are lots of signs that a recession is coming. If nothing else because the economy moves in cycles anyway... but the structural signs are there. If we do hit a recession, it will mostly not be Trump's fault as he has no control over interest rates. That said, it won't be anywhere near as bad as the last one. You could also disagree with him without making accusations.
  2. But that's why this 25% thing that Trump is going for makes no sense. I agree with you that tariffs should be reciprocal... but that's not what he's doing. 25% on Japanese cars when they charge 0%? It's hamfisted. Had he come out with reciprocal tariffs, I think he would have gotten a lot more traction and agreements.
  3. It's the customers who are charged in the end. But China now charges a 15% tariff on imported cars. The US charges a 25% tariff on imported trucks and has since the Kennedy Administration. Edit: Furthermore, it's not like there is some huge flood of Chinese cars in the US market. Two of the three models that were sold here have already been pulled from US sales (CT6 PHEV and S60 Inscription). Japan doesn't have a tariff on imported cars, and S. Korea's is fairly low. That's why a 25% tariff on cars imported into the U.S. from these countries doesn't make sense even from a retaliatory perspective.
  4. Wow! This is great! The tow rating is much better than the regular Wrangler.
  5. What do you mean... "being charged for them"?
  6. and when your firewall is under your seat
  7. Low price. CRVs and Equinoxes get well into the mid $30k range these days.
  8. The battle to be the first Chinese automaker to make it in the U.S. is heating up. Ford's Chinese partner Zotye has been setting up agreements for about 20 dealerships in the US, The goal is to bring the Zoyte T600 to the US in 2020. Previously Guangzhou Automotive had planned to bring their vehicles to the U.S. in 2019, but Trump's tariffs would delay their arrival. The T600, which looks like a cross between an Audi Q5 and previous generation VW Tiguan, sells between approximately $12,000 and $20,000 in China. Zotye plans to position themselves as a budget brand and is looking towards GM's Saturn dealership model as inspiration for its retailers. Currently, the only Chinese built vehicles sold in the US are sold by US (Buick Envision, Cadillac CT6 PHEV) or European brands (Volvo S60 Inscription previous generation) View full article

  10. compliance... not appliance.
  11. I had Lasik. ? I feel like a 25 year old.....I just need to find one who's willing.
  12. My "need to be strong and get through it" song has been on repeat a lot lately....
  13. Ahead of the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, Kia released a teaser shot of the 2020 Kia Soul due to be unveiled on November 28th. In addition to the standard gasoline and gas-turbocharged models, an updated "gas-free" electric model with a larger 39kw battery borrowed from the Kia Niro and an estimated 140 mile range will be shown. However, Kia states that the 2020 Soul EV, like the current model, will be limited to sale only in certain states. We tested the 2017 Kia Soul Exclaim with the 1.6 liter turbo and found it to be a fun and capable little runabout. The all-new 2020 Kia Soul will go on sale next year. View full article

  15. GM's pricing is rather assertive lately. They'll get fewer buyers, but at higher prices... and they seem to be okay with that. They're clearly not chasing volume to keep the lights on anymore. The days of the $99 down $99 a month Cobalt are over. Personally, they're driving me away. The only new cars from them I consider competitive to other brands in terms of pricing are the CT6, ATS, Encore, and perhaps Impala. Everything else has an attractive base price, but then they really nail you on options that are standard issue or much cheaper at the competition.
  16. More are coming soon
  17. CVTs have built in slip that a conventional automatic doesn't and the belts that run them can't handle higher amounts of torque of bigger engines. Yes the 1.5T in the 2019 Malibu will be paired with a CVT.
  18. Doesn't that just make it an A3? Oh... wait... they'll make it an A2-TT Four door coupe
  19. That's a damn good looking off-roader.
  20. 150 miles of range would be plenty. After 150 miles of riding, I'm definitely in need of a 15-minute break.
  21. True, but those tanks can be filled up quickly. I wonder the rate at which the Live-Wire can be recharged on a fast charger.... apparently, all HD dealers who sell it will also have a DC fast charger installed. A Nissan Leaf can get 90 miles of range in 30 minutes on a DC Fast Charger. Figure 15 minutes or less for a full "tank" on a Live-Wire?
  22. Welcome to C&G @Windstorm You should add your truck to our Member Garage.
