The ELR Encore and Verano are trying to create what does not exist. How long have most of us here had wished them to do things that break new segments into the market.
This!

Car and Driver is estimating $60-75,000 for the ELR, 0-60 in 8.0 seconds and top speed of 100 mph. This is a 4070 lb car that is longer than the ATS sedan. The ATS is a really good car and sells about 2,500 a month, I just can't see people paying double ATS money for less car because it goes 30 miles on battery. And if it is about styling, then make the ATS look better and sell more of them.
I do think though that the Gen 3 CTS could kick ass though as Cadillac is finally getting Sixteen and Cien styling cues into their cars and upping the interior quality, and that CTS should have new powertrains that aren't out of the Chevy parts bin.
Aside from the CTS-V which has best in class power anyway, what engines does the CTS have that are out of the Chevy Parts Bin? The 3.6 and 3.0 both went to Cadillac first and both have higher ratings than the same engines in the other divisions (save for Camaro).

They need an ATS coupe to erase this car away. Imagine how good an ATS coupe could look with the ELR's front end. And the ATS coupe would weigh 500 lbs less, and have 100 more hp, use Alpha platform not Delta 2, and cost $10-20,000 less.
They could also make an ATS 2.0 liter diesel with 200 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque that posts 40-45 mpg.
You realize that not everyone is a speed freak right? The 0-60 may be in the 8 second range but that doesn't mean the car will feel slow in normal driving. Drivers appreciate the low end torque of Voltec. The Fleetwood was also an 8 second car and few people would find that car to be slow in normal driving even today.

I don't think all trucks are so bouncy.... I think that is a Tacoma specific trait

If Benz and BMW can sell premium micro sub-compacts in the US (and they are coming) then Buick can certainly try... especially with something as good as the Adam as the base.

I think many people being called racist are just expressing their cultural preferences in dating in a very racially bigoted way..... they disqualify a race based on the perceived culture in that race. Anyone can find attractive and beautiful people of any race.

Sometimes things are posted on other sites that were obtained in legally questionable ways. Even if Jalopnik had full on pictures of the car that were obtained in an illegal manner, I would still not have allowed them to be posted on C&G.

If carscoops is going to give a history of a vehicle, they should at least get the history correct. The first Escalade was not a "hastily built and hardly restyled Yukon Denali". The Yukon Denali was designed from the start to be the Escalade (even if not in name). Cadillac rejected it because a "premium brand, luxury truck/SUV would never sell". So the design was given to GMC. Only after the Navigator started rolling off the lots in haste AND Lincoln took the luxury crown did Cadillac take the design back.

looks excellent in person!

Please move further comments to the ELR article link above.

So Cadillac should move BACKWARDS in technology just to satisfy you SMK? I've been liking Mercedes Benz more and more lately, but you know what bugs me about them? The Cheap cheap cheap feeling climate control dials. I'm sure you prefer those fisher price feeling things though...

Great looking in person.

I've updated the Live Shots gallery with my pictures from last night.

I'm assuming you mean front ball joints. If I recall, you have a mechanic already. I would order Moog ball joints and have him put those in. There are Moog ball joints, and then there is everyone else.
Get the links done at the same time.. those don't have to be Moog, but you'll spend more on A/C Delco anyway so might as well get them the same.

the serpentine belt tool can be borrowed from Advanced Auto or Auto Zone typically.

I thought the CR-V and Civic were much closer than that in relation...

You can replace the shift nob. look closely at the front face (the part facing the radio) about 80% of the way towards the bottom of just the knob part. There will be a 1/4 inch long horizontal metal clip. You pull that out with a tiny flat head and the entire knob will come off. Replace with a new knob in the same manner.

If you're sure the source of the sound is the alternator, then it would probably be the bearings that have gone bad. Yes you'll need to replace it. By the looks of the location, it will be a very easy job to do.

I've driven both. The Volt is no CTS-V, but it does drive and ride better than the Pruis with a lot more scoot.

part of that is the extra equipment made standard on the diesel. the engine itself is the easiest thing in the world to cost justify.

Except GM did do it this way already. Their first big foray into hybrids was on Buses.
