  2. did anybody click the related article that mentions a 4 cylinder in a commodore? "The engine would likely be a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine slated for use in the Chevrolet Camaro, which shares its underpinnings with the Holden Commodore." That doesn't sound like they are considering it for the camaro, it sound like a done deal.

  4. This is good japanese design. Read a really good article by Robert Cumberford about the whole mazda concept family. If more Japanese cars looked like this, or even the more pedestrian nagare cars, I would have more appreciation for them. The only japanese company to hurt themselves more design wise then Toyota is with this scion concept is Subaru with their whole line. They went from weird and distinctive to weird and bland. The only car I didn't like the last subie nose on was the tribeca. I thouht it looked awesome on the impreza and legacy
  5. You were one of those kids who read the dictionary as a child to try and make yourself sound smarter to everyone else weren't ya? For someone who talks so much about jingoism, also know as nationalism, extreme patriotism, or excessiv bias, your tone conveys a strong sense of bias yourself. I think when we comment about how bad this looks it's not a comparison to anything or base on any branding, it's just plain fugly. If GM had made it we would have called it as such just the same. Oh yeah and one other thing, How the hell does a caliber represent bold american styling but everything from GM in your opinion represent just copying someone else. I don't mean to imply that you don't think has any products with american styling it's just that the only models you chose to reference are ones that in your opinion are only copying other country's styling.
  6. Don't know if anyone else has posted this When is a coupe not a coupe?
  7. I keep looking at the saturn astra and I like it.. a lot. The problem is though I look at what everyone else offers as their base models in compact hatchback class and I can't imagine choosing a saturn for any reason other then you really really like the way it looks. I just can't see a good reason to choose one over a VW Rabbit or a Mazda 3. It's not just that the base models of those cars trump the astra for similar or less money, it's the fact that for the price of a three door astra xr with an automatic your almost at the price for a gti or a mazdaspeed3. I like the astra and I want it to do well but I can't see it doing much of anything unless they make a cheaper three door you could afford to tune or a hotter one that's already good to go from the factory.
  8. personally I'd just drop the 2.8 and just make a non DI 3.6 for the down market brands (Chevy/Pontiac) and DI for higher end
  9. actually Road & Track just did a review (I think, or else it was car and driver) of the Sky Redline with the auto and found it was faster than the MT. Something about the torque converter keeping the turbo spooled constantly. And I thought the HHR SS was getting the 2.0 turbo, not a 2.2 turbo, did I miss something?
  10. first and foremost I have to say I am loving that gm is addressing these problems and trying to fix them before it goes on for too long and fix it at the last moment then kill it. That said they need to do something about the trunk space and/or the shape and size of the gas tank. The top itself is not the problem as some magazine reviews lead you on to believe. Just the location and shape of the fuel tank. I think if they could engineer something like the vette's split tanks people would pay extra for the room in the trunk.
  11. I'm not as upset that this isn't out STS as much as I'm upset this isn't our DTS.
  12. mini wagon kappa like chevy nomad for production. Get a kappa with room for 4 and space for travel bags.
  13. The way I see it the 4sp auto is the workhorse of GM with all the bugs worked out and proven reliability. Just the sort of thing a work truck needs. What it's still doing in cobalts, hhrs, and epsilons I don't know. You want a 6sp auto in a truck with a big engine buy GMC.
  14. Nobody on here ever played pole position?
  15. I'd like the rides one if it wasn't so low and different. rims. I think it's the most subtle while actually being different.
