I have always had the same dilema with buying vehicles. Car or truck?...although I like many cars, more and more I lean towards pickups and the more elemental the better. I like your idea of the classic regular cab, short box, 2wd version. You reminded me to take a closer look at this icon of vehicles. There's a reason you often see ads, movies etc with vintage pickups of this sort. It evokes something very central to who we are as a people and a culture. And heck, I learned to drive in the back country in a stepside Chevy pickup. It's like I've come full circle. Thanks for highlighting this truck. I really want one now.

Crap, I thought it was just me....it's been the same for me...frustratingly slow...some things don't work at all...I've never seen it like this.

Hi Blu, have you gone on the Chevy site on the 360 degrees? It shows a Reg Cab/Standard Box/1LT. http://www.chevrolet.com/silverado/colors/ Click on Trim Level and then 1LT

Blu, you won't go wrong with the Silverado. It is so American. The popularity of pickups in Canada & the US just mystifies people in other countries. If I can be philosophical for a moment...it says much about us as a people, free spirited, hard workers. Wide-open spaces, a pickup truck and a dog...what more can a guy want? And heck, the single cab/short box 2wd just looks so good. It is at the top of my list for the next new vehicle.

  14. lol blu.....yep, thats it...it has to be, right?......or one could just be on a road trip in Montana, and whoa, a deer jumps across the road ahead....bam!....right from your Wildcat drivers window. A time when Buick had a bit of a naughty side. Wildcats and guns...I kind of like this kinko side form the doctors car. Spank me, Buick! 'Hey Cletus, I dun bagged me a deer...and nice rack too'.
  15. This pic is from a '65 Buick Wildcat brochure from Norway. Guns & Buicks! Yaaa!

  18. Hey thanks...appreciate that....will look for it.
  19. Oh and yes, I luv this commerical too. And any vintage car commerical videos. They say so much about a certain era. And it re-awakened me to the '84 Vette...really, a nice car in its time...and still is....I hadn't thought about it for awhile. In fact it'd be fun to have a section on C&G just for car videos.
  20. I don't have it....is that available retail somewhere?....downloadable? I'd luv to have that. Thanks for the suggestion.
  21. Both nice cars...it's just that the DTS is a really nice Buick. I look forward to the day that Cadillac is back being Cadillac. And I'm talking over-the-top luxury...unexpected cushy, removed-from-the-world extravegance. The way Cadillac used to be and should be now. Pure, American, in your face De Luxe.
