  1. Yeah, I noticed that too, but I'm not going to be too ciritcal because I know I do that I lot in my own work.
  2. I love the sound of a well tuned, high performance, aggressively cammed small block GM engine....(yes, the sound from a small block ford is different, so is a dodge).
  3. Yeah, you're right, the two-door Blazer continued all the way up till Blazer production stopped in 2005, but if I remember right 1989 was the last year you could get THAT body style in a two door format.
  4. It looks really good, I like that interior color. I've test driven one like that before and I really liked it a lot. We've got two Canyon's in our delivery fleet at my job and every chance that I get to go out and visit our customers, I try to take one of them. I just like the way they ride and their responsiveness. Good luck on it and I hope that it gives you many happy years of service.
  5. All right, each window has power run through a circuit breaker in the fuse panel. Those circuit breakers are designed to kill power based upon the resistance found in the wire (either from a bad power window switch or a bad window motor), if the resistance and heat build up too much, the circuit breaker will trip, instantly killing power to the motor. After a couple of seconds, once the wiring cools down, it'll close again and allow you to use the switch to move the window. This could just be a bad ground for the motor or a bad switch, both aren't too hard to take care of.
  6. BuddyP is right, you lose some mileage, but you gain some power. Another thing that I saw once on a History Channel thing about fuels was that in places like Brazil, straight ethanol was 1.20 per liter, meanwhile straight gasoline was about 2.10 a liter. So maybe that'll give you a better idea as to what you're looking at. I've been seriously thinking about going Flex-Fuel for my next vehicle, if they'd just get some E85 pumps here in Alabama.
  7. I like the answer, nothing definite, just a "we'll look into it". Its also good to see that they're committed to getting GMNA turned around to making a profit. I think that they should continue talking with N-R until GMNA is making some money, THEN see if they still have anything to put on the table.
  8. All right, I might have been a bit overzealous when I said, as is, the US is self-sufficient in its oil reserves. I know that oil is exported to Canada, Britain, Japan, etc, now as far as exact numbers, I don't have them, I honestly don't, so I can't show them. I know that there are oil reserves here in the US that haven't even been tapped yet, sure some are in a wild alaskan caribou mating ground and there are some tree huggers worried about the caribou humping properly, but the point is, they are there and can/should be used.
  9. Absolutely superb Chevelle, looks great. I'm also willing to bet that its a Caddy in the garage.
  10. I would still like to purchase a bunny that's rear wheel drive.
  11. that's what I would think that it could be removed, its not like its one of the old badges that's acutally bolted onto the side of the car and would leave a nasty little hole there, its just double-sided taped on.
  12. Yeah, but you'd have to synch it with the idling of your engine, the acceleration, etc to make it match right.
  13. See, I don't have that problem with my supervisors. I can tell them what I want to do, and they can either approve it or not. I don't really complain, then again, I can't really complain.
  14. Our printers aren't "that" bad, they'll sometimes eat some paper and destroy some invoices, but overall, they do okay.
  15. Another thing, If the exhaust system has a resonator before the muffler, that'll quiet down the exhaust note a great deal on any engine, no matter what it is. Now if you remove that and straight pipe the area, you'll gain some sound, but just like what everyone else said, you can't make a I4 sound like a V8.
  16. It really does look good YJ. i haven't been able to work on my novel all that much myself, but I'll get around to it again soon. Keep us posted on it, I like what I'm seeing.
  17. I full well undestand that the statue of liberty was given to the united states by the people of france, however; I don't like seeing something like that happen where someone else uses an idea that's already been out there in the world for so long as theirs. That'd be like the Russian aircraft company Sukhoi copywriting the use of thrust vectoring engines when other companies have already been using the technology for years.
  18. I'm not even going to touch this one with a ten foot pole with a red hot poker attached to it....
  19. nutrious
  20. I liked it YJ, I really did. And yes, you did use phone a bit too much. You're description skills really come out on this one. Good job painting a picture in my mind as I read. My only gripe would be to give maybe a little more forestory in there so that it doesn't feel like we're just being dropped into a situation.
  21. Thanks for the explanation of the french car companies and the following arguments. Another thing about the US and its oil needs....we have oil reserves, we have enough oil to make the company self-sufficient when it comes to oil needs. However, we do have alliances and contracts with those nice arab people in the Persian Gulf to buy THEIR oil at whatever price THEY set. Meanwhile we ship our oil to everyone else because we're the "good neighbor" that everyone (except North Korea and Iran) wants. I say we do something that I once saw that Robin Williams said. Lets go up to everywhere we import oil from and tell them that we'll pay them $5 a barrel for oil and if they don't like it, go sell it elsewhere whilst we take our own oil supplies and USE them for OUR own purposes. Then again, I guess I'm just being introverted and don't give a damn about the rest of the world (oh wait, I sometimes DON'T give a damn about the rest of the world).
  22. Thanks for giving me a head's up on this one. I personally don't want GM to team up with anyone, I think they're perfectly capable of doing very well on their own.
  23. Hey bob, lemme know what year your Regal is and tomorrow at work i'll jump into the service manual.
  24. Its like I've always said. "how many french does it take to defend Paris? No one knows yet because the last time a battalion of US Army soldiers had to do it."
  25. I still think taht the most menacing police vehicle is one I saw in South Carolina while visiting family. 1985 Chevrolet K5 Blazer 4WD 502 big block crate motor with a blower strapped to it....said it was used for those 'really hairy" chases....
