  1. C&G: I'm wondering people's thoughts/opinions on what new technology or features they would like to see integrated into future vehicles. For example, iPod/AuxIn features are hot now. Nav systems were a few years ago. So what is next, Tivo's, etc? Edit: I'd like to keep the ideas centered around integration of new electronics or "creature features". Any ideas for expanding OnStar? Radio display screen customizations? Input like that.... Let me know, thanks! p.s. It's for a class project ...
  2. What the heck is that think under the "M" in the license plate? Laser cruise control? Front camera?

    .....

I am so sick of that stupid grill, and now they "bling" it with chrome accents. As long as Dodge keeps tacking that grill onto cars and trucks, I will not care for that brand (yes I know it's the signature Dodge grill.)
  4. I give it 2nd-3rd quarter 2007. The concept was basically a Chrysler LX chassis with fiberglass body panels, I mean you could see the whole underpinnigs if you peeked under the car. They've probably been working on the tooling and dies for the last year, and pre-production units could start in a few months. I really don't care for this car. Like all Dodge's, it's looks like a dumb, bulky unaerodynamic pig. I really hope it's a flop. Plus the interior sucked and 3 of the 4 gauge cluster lights were out on the concept when I saw it but the production will probably get the black ugly radio with the stupid "brushed aluminum" plastic.... If this is released it will just motived me more to throw hot cam in my GTO and tune it eventhough I can probably beat it stock.
  5. lol that is so awesome. i've seen the commercial, but not the website. wow. haha. Jen sure has a hot voice
  6. I'm assuming the flip down dvd screens and the 22 in wheels won't be found on the production vehicle either......or will they?!?!? The 'Sclade has got 22's. hmmmmmm
  7. I could swear when it came out for it's debut with Eva that guy guy hit the brakes, the CHMSL lit up, but the other brake lights didn't. I had a crappy seat and I was pretty much looking straight on @ the back. (Plus I do electrical work so I pay attention to the dorky stuff.... )
  8. Buickman, The Tahoe concept is a full hybrid with all the running gear. It was driven out on stage under electric power. Autoweek did not drive this concept. The electric motors are in the transmission, therefore could not be hidden by an engine cover, nor could the "hybrid powerplant" (which you fail to describe). The display by the Tahoe tells the story about the whole system. The people by the car, unless they are GM or a GM person is present cannot just "pop the hood" for any random Joe, especially during public days. Just because GM didn't stick to you "plan" doesn't mean you can go slandering GM. Your little blurb is ridiculous. FYI it was probably removed from the floor for maintenance and will be back when fixed - the hot lights shining on these concepts can melt parts that are affixed to the car with adhesive - nothing to do with the powertrain. Stuff happens to all concepts (for example, one of the Challenger's gauge lights is out, and the Imperial's brake lights don't work, only the CHMSL).
  9. A system that locks, unlocks and STARTS as you approach it? What is the logic behind that? What if you are approaching the car to get something out of it? It sounds like they tried to one-up easy key (system in new Caddy's and Vette).
  10. Was anyone there today? Anyone go to the Chrysler afterparty @ Detroit Firefighters - rumor was Eva from Desperate Housewives was bartending but she never showed up. Dieter was there though. If anyone is going tomorrow, just a heads up but a seat by the GM stage will not be the best seat in the house. Go to the emtpy carousel in the Chevy booth.
  11. I don't believe all the jazz about the motor. They can say what they want, but look at the engine pic - where is the wiring harness? It looks like nothing is hooked up, not even the fuel injectors. Does that thing even work? Is Ford using gas to give us a lot of hot air? It's kind of cool looking I guess. Although reading the release says they have "BeltMinder" possibly the most annoying thing ever.
  12. For those privledged enough to live in Southeast MI you've probably seen them on the road. They really are impressive. A neat feature is the gas cap (I've never seen something like this before but I'm sure it's around) - there isn't any lever to pull inside or no lumpy finger hole protruding, you just press on the cap and it pops out and you just press it closed it and stays flush with the body. I know it's not a deal breaker but the sleekness adds to the flush and tight bodygap look.
  13. Well they are producing Sky's now for the media and company cars because I've seen them around. Anyway, when the Sky goes on sale in a few months, it is a 2007 model. By then, the Solstice will be at or near 20,000 units. However, since they'll have a huge backlog, they'll start taking orders for 2007 Solstices including GXPs thus maintaining 20,000 a year. Plus most Solstices are built to order anyways.
  14. Car and Driver wrote an equally glowing review in the Feb '06 issue. They also had to complain about something, and chose the plastic interior components that are expensive looking but hard to the touch....for all those people that buy a car to poke @ the interior panels. But it was a good article and good news for the Tahoe.
  15. With the popularity of SUVs dwindling, why not use a major auto show to introduce updates that may have otherwise gone unnoticed. This was a good move. It will get exposure and help build model exclusiveness.
