Jost Capito, Ford's director of Global Performance Vehicles is leaving according to Car & Driver. The reason as to why Capito is leaving Ford is unknown.

“We thank Jost Capito for his contributions on the company’s performance vehicles and motorsports plan. We wish him well as he begins a new chapter in his career,” said a Ford Spokesman in a written statement.

Capito during his eleven-year tenure over at Ford oversaw the performance divisions in Europe and the U.S. From 2001 - 2009, Capito was the head Ford's RS division. He oversaw development of first and second generation Focus RS and motorsports efforts. After 2009, Capito was promoted to director of Global Performance Vehicles where he played a role in the resurgence of Ford's SVT Group. Vehicles like the Raptor, GT500, and the upcoming Focus and Fiesta ST were done under his watch.

The question now is will Ford's SVT group continue on with this roll of dynamic and exciting vehicles or will we enter a dry spell.

JOST CAPITO TO HEAD VOLKSWAGEN MOTORSPORT

Wolfsburg, March 29, 2012 – Jost Capito (53) is to head Volkswagen Motorsport effective May 1, 2012. He takes over from Kris Nissen (51), who will support his successor during the transition phase and subsequently assist the Group in an advisory capacity.

Jost Capito moves to the Volkswagen Group from Ford Motor Company USA. He has decades of experience in motorsport; among other things, he was involved in Formula 1 and was also co-pilot and winner in the truck category of the Paris-Dakar Rally. The engineering graduate began his career in 1984 as a development engineer for BMW's high-performance engines. Capito joined Porsche in 1989, first heading the Porsche Carrera Cup Organisation and later overseeing all Porsche brand racing championship campaigns. He held executive posts at Sauber Petronas Engineering from 1996 to 2001 and was Chief Operating Officer of the Sauber Red Bull Formula 1 team from 1998. Capito moved to Ford at the end of 2001 where he latterly held responsibility for Ford's global performance vehicle business and for motorsports strategy.

Kris Nissen (51) has been Director of Volkswagen Motorsport since 2003 and won important motorsport victories for Volkswagen during his tenure. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen brand with responsibility for 'Development', thanked Nissen for his achievements: "Mr. Nissen has taken Volkswagen Motorsport a long way forward and led the Motorsport team during the most successful phase in its history so far. He was instrumental in Volkswagen's double victory at the 2009 Dakar Rally and helped write motorsport history with the one-two-three podium finishes in 2010 and 2011."

    • Awesome specimen.    Sadly though, it is no longer available for sale.  Did the seller find a buyer. At $48 000, it is relatively cheap to buy.  Does that mean muscle cars are going down in price?  Maybe its not a "numbers matching" 455.  It does have an Edelbrock stamp on the block which explains the "low" price of 48 thousand.  Only thing I will whine about is: Although I LOOOOVE Cragar SS wheels,  ESPECIALLY on muscle cars, I somehow disapprove of them on a 442.  The rich that support him are making even MORE money with him there so no...they will NOT listen. They do not care.  The others are racist bastards that as long as the ones they hate are in worse shape than they are, then they will allow trump to destroy the country.  It WILL take the rest of you to fight for your country.    To remove him FORCIBLY  and all those other cancerous shyteholes that have infected your country.
    • @oldshurst442 Found your next car, on ebay for sale!  1970 Oldsmobile 442 1970 Oldsmobile 442 | eBay 1970 Oldsmobile 442 | eBay Very clear that WE THE PEOPLE are speaking up louder, but will those idiots that enable Idiot47 listen. Maria Shriver makes bold political statement about Trump after series of tragedies: 'I've had enough'
    • Idiot47 is nothing more than a mole controlled by Russia. Do not forget the pictures and video that was released by Russia of him and prostitutes in Russia as he was there with his wife to try and get Idiot Hotels. He is nothing more than a stool pigeon for Russia destroying America and any other system as they try to push their dictator control of the world. WE THE PEOPLE need to take back America, Impeach Idiot47 and his whole administration. Bring back Democracy, working in unison with the world, not an attempt to attack the world and the continued pardoning of criminals. The whole administration needs to be arrested and turned over to the Hague to stand trial for Crimes against Humanity.
    • Do not forget that he also reignited his racist "why do we get immigrants from non-white countries and not from white countries" rhetoric. Oh...then there is the constant talk about war on his own citizens. Also, the constant attacks on Canada, the usa's most reliable and friedliest neighbour. Not to mention the  grifting and the corruption that allows his friends and family to gain billions of dollars financially from government coffers.  I have become NON-TOLERANT to ANY american entity.  I DESPISE maga, trailer trash and anything remotely connected to trump and/or the republican party. I HATE anything american that ALLOWS trump to continue on this path and I do NOT respect americans that allow this shyte to exist.   And many many MANY Canadians feel the same way. It is NOT just me...  It is, in the grand scheme of things, ALL of Canada that has this hatred for the usa.  And its not ONLY because of trump...   I as a Canadian, we Canadians DO have a dog in this fight as trump has THREATENED OUR nation politically, economically. His words ARE words of war and add insult to injury, some americans to this day do NOT understand the severity of it all.     Phoque trump Phoque the usa
