"We Never Meant To Embarrass Toyota" GM Says

Featured Replies

Why, YES....it IS open to the public.  I was told that next time I come to Detroit, I just have to call the museum ahead of time, and schedule a "visit" of the museum.  Anyone can visit....whether you work for GM or not....

CRAP! For some reason, I was under the impression that it is not open to the public. Had I known it is open to the public, I would've taken the time to go see it when I was in Detroit, especially since Josh and I ate lunch right across the street from the Tech Center....aye :(.

Ah, well ... that gives me another reason to get back to Detroit ;).

And, YES....it IS owned by GM.....but you didn't get my POINT..!  Owned by GM or not, it is a public venue....and was closed to the public due to an event that was being held there for dealers.....

No, I got your point. The difference, as others have already pointed out, is that GM owns this Museum ... Toyota does not own that place in Chicago.....

Next time Cort we will head over to there. I've been in and it's awesome in there. I can't wait for GM's mega celebration in just a few short years.
I want to be a smartass and make an Edmund's-esque comment but I won't.

Sounds like a plan, Josh! I'll try to remember to let you know far enough ahead of time that I'm coming to Detroit so we can set something up...

As for GM's mega celebration in a few years...did I miss something?

The answer: money.

The same reason Toyota is being allowed their way in every aspect now.

Money talks, especially in America.
