auto headlight sensor

Featured Replies

I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic and while cleaning the dash the auto headlight sensor fell into the dash. Is there a way to get it back into position. Looking at the hole it is a simple quarter turn twist to hold it in place so it must have been twisted the wrong direction. I don't think it is broken just down in the hole.

If you pop off the main bezel, and pull out the radio, none of which is very hard to do, you might be able to reach it behind the radio hole and push it back through. Everything comes apart so much easier now on the new cars and trucks.

i had the same thing happen to me. I took some thread and looped around it. i pulled it back up throught the hole.

I ended up taking it to the dealer and it was fixed under warranty. Both the thread idea and through the radio sound like they are good options. I bet this will happen again and the warranty will be gone.

Thanks.

As far as the bezel I am not real sure what or how to do that. I am concerned about breaking off the clips or finding a screw where I might think there is a clip. Does the bezel go just around the radio part or is it the covering the whole thing from the radio to and around the gauges. The counter guy didn't have clue and said the guys in the shop will figure it out.

Well, it goes around the cluster and that radio and it just pulls off, retainers only, no screws. I have a .pdf file with how to do it, and can also get you the exact procedure for the sensor, which of course is some long drawn out pain in the a*s. I still think my way would be easiest. I can get you both in .pdf format, but it won't let me attach the files here. Send me your email address in a PM and I'll email it to you.
