In this story a car has a mechanical problem right at the start of the book.

1) what is the mechanical problem?

2) what kind of car is it?

3) what story?

Hint: this is a quote from the story - "...officious, officious little prick"

Well, the only three stories, novels, and so forth from Stephen King that I've read that involves a car as the focal point of the plot are "Christine," "From A Buick 8," and "Trucks," and "Uncle Otto's Truck."

Hmmm... Lets see... It can't be "Trucks." In that one, well, a bunch of trucks take over people who are stranded at a gas station and keep demanding gas at the end. It can't be "Uncle Otto's Truck" since that's about a red truck that is located on the opposite side of the road from a red house. The truck, by the way, kills the man who lives in the house.

Then again, it could be "Uncle Otto's Truck" because the truck didn't actually run, it just seemed to get closer and closer to the house and didn't make a noise.

And, of course, it could be "Christine" and "Buick 8" because neither of those cars run at the start of the story.

Well, I'm stumped. :D

Let's see...I have also read "Dolan's Cadillac"...

Damn. Again I am positive I've read it, but still can't think of the damn story title.

When the part of the answer came to me, it said, "Heeerre's Johnny!"

It's from "The Shining," right? $h!, it's been a while since I've read that.

Now I gotta think of the car and the problem...

Okay, if I get this wrong, just go ahead and give the answer. Since it's been maybe a year to a year and a half since I read "The Shining" and I don't own a copy of the book to consult, I'll take a wild guess.

I think the car was a...Buick with carbuarator problems, I think. I remember a Buick being mentioned at around Chapter 5, maybe. Not sure. I'll just have to buy the book and read it over again, like I've been planning.

Wah-wuh-wuahhhh... Well, Johnny, let's give him a warm round of applause for trying!

Come back again and try to answer Stuff You Can't Remember! :D

Volkswagen, huh? Wait, didn't SK mention something about the brakes on the car that was a slight error?

Oh! Now it comes back to me!
