You don't have to be a psychic to see that this is defintely GM's truck showplace.... my bets are on the Sierra and maybe another surprise (Canyon?) for GMC, with the Silverado and maybe the N/A Colorado for Chevrolet.

EXCITEMENT!!! I am looking forward to the GMC roll out. I had hoped there would also be a chevy rollout, Dreaming of the new Trailblazer from Thailand showing up here for the NA market with the 2.9L Duramax Diesel in Bad Ass off road trim.

Course I will take it as a GMC labeled version too which would be HOT!

In regards to what we can expect, I am hoping to see small size pickup and trailblazer type SUV for GMC/Chevy.

For everyone else, I think we can expect to see hybrid and diesel versions gallore.

I was really reaching about the new SUVs, regardless of whether its Chevy or GMC. I don't think we'll see them until Fall (LA) or Winter (Detroit or Chicago, 2013), as they will be released after the full-size pickups.

But it is disappointing to learn that the Sierra & Silverado will not be debuting show truck versions at the Chicago show. That means either the NY show in April or the Texas State Fair (Ocotber or November?) would be the other options since they'll be on sale in early 2013 and I think the LA show (November) and Detroit would be kind of late to show them. The new trucks won't be on sale in early 2013....towards the end of the first half of 2013 is more accurate. So far, I haven't heard anyone talking about a concept truck. They may not do one.

The Colorado/Canyon for the U.S. won't be around until 2014.

Erm, you know...Facebook, twitter. The 2nd day of the Chicago Auto Show has been "social media" day since last year. Most OEMs don't have anything to debut, but just talk about their interactive campaigns, etc. It's a good way to keep their buyers informed/involved.

Though really, what seems more accurate is...the Chicago Auto Show no longer has enough debuts to warrant 1.5 media days, so they are doing this "social media day" to try and retain that 2nd day of coverage they get from various outlets. As it stands now, I don't think most of the working media will have much of a reason to be there on day #2.
