Porsche Reports August 2018 U.S. Sales

  • Year-to-date numbers beat first eight months of 2017; Macan leads August growth

ATLANTA, Sept. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of the Porsche 911, 718 Boxster and Cayman, Panamera, Cayenne, and Macan model lines, today announced August 2018 retail sales of 4,083 vehicles. This was a year-over-year decline for the month, due to the nearly complete sell-out of Cayenne models ahead of the next-generation model in October. U.S. retail sales year-to-date are up 3.7 percent compared to 2017, totaling 37,524 for the first eight months of the year.

Sales in August increased 2.6 percent counting all model lines except the Cayenne. The Macan led August growth with an increase of 28.5 percent to 2,108 units.

Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) sales in the U.S. totaled 2,102 vehicles in August, up 31.1 percent year-over-year.

More of the common theme, cars sales down, CUV sales up.

August sales reduction though due to new models coming. Wish GM would figure out a way to have less inventory at change over to keep ATP higher on all model brands.
