Toyota's TRD sport package arrived for 2020 on both the full-size Avalon and the midsize Camry, each powered by a 3.5L V6. The Avalon TRD rides on sport-tuned suspension lowered 0.6 inches, while the Camry TRD drops 0.5 inches, and both get larger brakes, a TRD cat-back exhaust, matte-black 19-inch forged wheels, red-painted brake calipers, and aggressive TRD body styling inside and out. PADM Faults Don’t Always Mean the Engine Mount Has Failed
Many Porsche owners assume the active engine mount has failed as soon as they see a PADM Disabled warning. However, after disassembling multiple OEM PADM sensors, we found that most failures are actually caused by the internal sensor chip becoming loose or detached. The OEM design relies heavily on adhesive to secure the chip. After years of engine heat and vibration, the adhesive gradually weakens, eventually causing sensor failure and fault codes. The issue is that Porsche’s official repair solution only involves replacing the complete active mount assembly, which is expensive and still uses the same basic sensor structure, meaning the problem can return again later. That is certainly your opinion but I stand by it. That thing is hideous and just looking at the profile of the two, the $650K Ferrari looks way too similar to a $40K Toyota. That is not a Ferrari. That is a $650K bar of soap with wheels. You are right about the rest of it though. Just a whole lot of “meh” for that kind of coin. If it had a different logo attached to it, then it might look okay. However, if no one told us this was a Ferrari, we would never have guessed it was. That is my point here. Nothing about it says Ferrari and it looks very stale and boring for the price point.- 1

Oh that is just plain silly that they'd have the same vehicle but some trims do and do not have CarPlay. I'm also in the same boat in not wanting a base model of pretty much anything. I dig the Lyriq (even though the name is horrible), but they're too pricey around me still. The cheaper ones are 40-42k and I just can't justify spending that.- Electric Truck

I would not get a Super. Find one with the normally aspirated 3800 V6. Toward its final year, they may have gone to a Chevy sourced 3900 V6 or 3500 V6. I guess those are ok if lower mileage, but the Buick 3800 V6 tends to be stellar. I just saw this or would have responded earlier. -

Starter Car?
@crvette_guy - I just thought of one if you really wanted a northstar and a larger sedan. You could get the final generation of Cadilac STS. The first gen CTS-V would work also, but they're harder to find cheap while also being in good shape. Still, the first-gen CTS-V is just a standard GM 5.7 or 6.0 liter and dead reliable. You can get it with a manual also. It might be worth spending a little more to go this route instead of going with a cheaper Northstar powered car in the long run.- 1

Starter Car?
There's not a lot of choices for RWD in the big family sedan space. Charger, 300C, Town Car, Crown Vic, or if you go a lot older, Impala, Roadmaster, Fleetwood. Crown Vics and Town Cars really don't have the performance to be doing sideways stuff. Charger/300 with a Hemi is your best bet for that. I wouldn't want to see you doing that with the Roadmaster / Fleetwood. They have the ability, but they're classics now and should be preserved. Outside of that you're looking at Germans (too expensive to maintain) or Lexus / Infiniti.- 1

I'm probably going to be traveling more often for work again. I've done it in Teslas before, so I know that 250kw would be okay. The Silverado EV does still have CarPlay... if you get the W/T trim. I'm not a W/T kinda gal. RST or Trail Boss (or High Country if they made one) for me and they don't get CarPlay. The only Silverado EVs that look any good to me are the RSTs in Blue or Black. The Red Trail Boss is... okay. In white, they look like an electric company fleet vehicle. All of the Denali EVs seem to be in Military Gray Metalic that looks blah. I really don't know where I want to go. I am going to try and hang onto my Avalanche regardless. I think I'll end up regretting it if I sold it. Part of me also thinks just get something like an Ioniq 6 or GV60 for myself to put business miles on and put the Avalanche into storage. The Lyriq has really grown on me (it still has CarPlay). It might be an option once we replace the 300C. We just passed 100k miles there. His job situation is still in limbo. It could go to where he is 100% public transit or 75% travel requiring a vehicle.... so still waiting on that. We find out by July.- Electric Truck

While I think the Luce looks pretty damn bad, I don't think a Crown comparison makes a whole lot of sense, imo. I feel like it wasn't all that long ago that Ferrari stated they'd never make an SUV and never make an EV. Look where we are know... Things like the Luce are why it wouldn't take a whole lot to convince me that automakers are deliberately making EVs look horrendous so when they don't sell they can say, "see, nobody wants EVs." It also just isn't impressive technology-wise. It charges as quick as a Silverado EV and Kia EV# (along with anything else that charges at 350kw) and it's no quicker than a Lucid and not even THAT much quicker than a Hummer EV. Oh yeah, it also has a pretty crap range. It just isn't impressive in any way.
