The fact that it is a patch job is my point. This van is hitting the decade mark without any major changes hence my opinion that Stellantis doesn't care. That "platform" should have dropped a few years ago but again, Stellantis.

True, but I also think this was a patch job. The Pacifica is the only vehicle on this platform as almost everything else has moved over to a Stellantis platform. They assure me there is more coming for Chrysler.

The third-generation Volkswagen Atlas made its debut at the New York International Auto Show, built on an all-new MQB evo platform that adds about an inch of length to the three-row SUV and brings the most substantial interior redesign the Atlas has seen since its 2017 launch. Exterior Design The new Atlas adopts a sharper, more geometric front end. Double-stacked LED headlights run the full width of the nose, and an illuminated VW badge is standard on all trims except the base. Three new exterior colors join the Atlas palette for 2027: Blackberry, Sacramento Green, and Sandstone. A Completely Redesigned Interior Volkswagen describes the cabin architecture as a "bold loop" cockpit design, a sweeping dashboard structure that creates a visual separation between the driver-focused zone and the passenger side. Real wood trim is now standard across the lineup, and a column-mounted shift lever replaces the previous floor-mounted unit, freeing up the front center console. Three interior color palettes are available. Technology The base trim receives a 12.9-inch touchscreen; every other trim steps up to a 15-inch display. A 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro instrument cluster is standard across the range. Qi2 dual wireless charging accommodates two devices simultaneously, and a new Driver Experience Dial puts drive mode selection within easy reach. Volkswagen's Premium Speech AI is included with a one-year trial subscription. Rear sunshades and a power liftgate are standard on all trims, and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system is available on the top trim. Safety The 2027 Atlas adds a front center airbag, bringing the total to seven. Volkswagen has upgraded IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist, and a new Emergency Assist feature can guide the vehicle to a controlled stop and alert emergency services if it detects an unresponsive driver. Powertrain and Capability Under the hood sits an updated 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (the EA888 evo5), now producing 282 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, a gain of 13 horsepower over the outgoing engine. Volkswagen expects improved fuel economy, though EPA figures are not yet available. 4Motion all-wheel drive remains available, towing capacity is rated at 5,000 pounds, and a hybrid powertrain is planned for a midcycle update. More like a bad Korean style nose job. If the rest of the van had been redesigned with this in mind, that might be one thing but this just looks beyond tacked on. Stellantis simply does not care about Chrysler.

Meanwhile, the U.S continues to get boring Buick CUVs with underpowered 3 bangers.

They have something else in the works. I think the existing system was costing them too much in warranty and stop-sale orders. It probably wasn't salvageable. Any one else think it looks like a Bolt XL?

I'll stick with my 2018 since the only really difference between it and this one is the nose and that new nose is one only a near sighted mother could love.

It's disappointing they couldn't just make a good, working product. On the surface, it seemed like a killer family vehicle for those wanting maximum efficiency.
