Land Rover chose the 2013 New York Auto Show as the stage for the world debut of the all-new 2014 Range Rover Sport, a complete redesign that moved the SUV onto a new aluminum-intensive monocoque platform shared with the full-size Range Rover. The second-generation Sport shed significant weight compared to its body-on-frame predecessor while gaining a more athletic, fastback-inspired silhouette. Inside, the cabin received a significant upgrade with Land Rover's new InControl Touch infotainment system, quilted leather seating, and the brand's signature rising rotary gear selector. New for this generation was an optional third-row seat, giving the Sport the ability to carry up to seven passengers for the first time.
