  1. ? Happy Earth Day to All Totally remodeling the backyard, leveling it out for my Golden Years! No more hills, changing all the garden to raised beds so no more hands and knees. Not sure how much of a garden will get planted this year as I have to put in a retaining wall to my back neighbor, new fence and a retaining wall dividing 2/3rds of the yard from 1/3rd of the yard. Will have a slopped walk area to the upper section where the garden will go. Lots to do, so not sure my garden will get in this year. I also have to replace the decking on my 16'x20' deck, they are 23years old as I put them in new back in 1999 and have lived out their life. Rotted sections that a foot can go through, so looking at Trex to put down that will last till I die. I have 20 Leland Cypresses to plant once the retaining wall is done and fence put in, I will use it for a natural green barrier to all my neighbors, so I have a totally private back yard. Will keep it trimmed like mine in the front that gives me total privacy.

  2. Happy Earth Day indeed. I planted a dogwood last night, spread some grass seed, spread some mulch...very relaxing after a week glued to computer screens on Zoom calls.... going to plant some boxwoods and some thuja arborvitaes this weekend, and some tiger lilys in a flowerbed.

  4. You got to remember that he was a product of the 1970s. He stopped smoking considerably in the 2000s. Cigarette marketing was at an all time high by this time. Cigarette ads like the Marlboro Man started in the 1950s? and by the time we got to the 1970s, cigarette smoking was a regular thing we did. Yeah, he actually smoked DURING the games, ON the bench. He wasnt the only one during his era. I do agree with you about smoking being bad for one's health, and I equally agree with you about vaping, at least today's young athletes for the most part, do NOT indulge in unhealthy life choices. Smoking is largely gone in the sports world. Other kinds of drugs however are not. Its scary to think how much faster, stronger some of these old school athletic superstars would be if they ate, exercised and trained and stopped the smoking and drinking like how today's athletes are. Take Babe Ruth for example. He smoked, drank and ate without a care in the world. But that was normal behavior for his era. Now imagine his natural abilities with today's view on athletic training and diet...

  5. @oldshurst442 @ccap41 Think of all the armed forces who were doing flying like that in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. War time is even more crazy and yet the pilots hung their ass out on crazy ridges to pick up wounded, sick, innocent civilians, etc. Canadians on deployment in Mali

  8. Guy! Guy! Guy! Playing for a franchise overloaded with legends, Guy was one of the best. 5 time Stanley Cup champion past away yesterday. Guy Lafleur would be the last Hab I would cheer for as a Canadiens fan before I defected to become a Boston Bruins fanboy. He would retire from the game (only to come back a couple of years later) in 1985 (because Montreal management and coaching would treat him like shyte) which would coincide my last year I would cheer for the Habs. He was such a great talent to see skating up and down the ice. So electric. RIP
