  1. I cut the roof off a 73 Impala $100 bucket, then slit a black garden hose and stuck it on the sharp edges. I thought it would be fun to have a convertible. Mr exhaust got sawzalled too. Sawzalls rule.
  2. I remember one from the mid90s that was green, had muscular, bumped out wheelwells sim. to a 70 chevelle ...406cuin w/efi RWD. It almost made green look ok on a car! Does that ring a bell?
  3. If you are more specific, I can tell you whatever you need to know. No kidding
  4. Next time, or for others with newer cars, you can give the dealer your VIN number and they cut you a new one from the computer. I did this in 1996 when I lost my keys while in another state! I drove home :)
  5. I've seen them in Warren, where I work.... This is a bad idea for sure.
  6. I've seen more than a few pickups lately with testicles hanging from the rear. Some even color match them to the body... I can't imagine some guy making a bracket to hang some balls and then thinking ..SWEEEEET. I wonder if this happens all over or just in Michigan Could this be the worst add-on ever? :( if not, what is
  7. Of course you're right. In Michigan, it still works out to be a good deal.
  8. compromising still sucks- I'll pretend Im not
  9. I am sure many of you already know this, ANYWAY for those of you who don't... Get a car 25 years or older, put in a 400 hp engine. Get it appraised for $100-150. Then get classic/antique insurance for $ 120 for 6 months. Genius plan. oh yeah don't forget to update the brake system and steering with your extra money or risk being an organ donor. Paying thousands just in case something happens sucks
  10. I 've wanted a GM Performance Division jacket for some time... and they're almost done with the new website! Cool logos, black shirts, can't wait I need a new jacket bad
  11. Fantastic burrito mmmm
  12. Gotta have at least one that scares small children, and burns rubber, gotta have at least one more that's big enough for some kids and a dog, and can tow a trailer! comprimising sucks
  13. "Tommy like wingy" :)
  14. My dad always had the coolest Pontiacs...421 Catalinas w/ 4 speed, posi, 8 lug aluminum wheels. My 5 older brothers all had GTOs, firebirds, el caminos.. I grew up with a sore neck from banging gears very time I went for a ride, none were stock, my sic brothers were severe gearheads. I've had dozens of fast muscle cars and enjoy building chevy V-8 engines 'cause they are inexpensive and bulletproof when done right. I worked as a contract designer at GM for 15 years and one day, out of the blue, GM offered me a direct position in Design/Eng.!!! I run a sleeper '79 Malibu on Woodward (I live a few blocks off it) that runs 12s ...I say it's a 305. itsnot. There are no words to describe how happy and lucky I feel to be designing stuff just as I dreamed as a kid. The weird part is, they hired me 'cause of my garage skills and attitude. God I love my job at GM and try my best every day to make a difference!
  15. What I saw looked like a '69 Foose and Kris Horton worked on for years... I wasn't dreaming, and it didn't have drive train yet start saving money http://www.cheersandgears.com/public/style_emoticons//AH-HA_wink.gif
  16. Impala and GXP- the engine is transverse mounted, with a X frame underneath. The Solstice has big 3x8 frame rails extending fwd to the rad support, that are far apart... with the engine out, it looks like a big block would fit in there. The chassis was intended for so much more. Put on yer helmets.
  17. I am sometimes easily distracted chevys rule. I have a 68 camaro also 79 malibu guess which is faster
  18. nice pajamas. I would take that thing apart right away and build some fun
  19. Celebrities? what in the hell are you talking about ? I'm really happy and I love my job. You're in the one in charge of your life...make some changes. It's all about YOUR choices. Don't play a victim- follow your dreams derrrrrh
  20. Oh the other one is a lincoln mark13 1/2 with deluxe waterbuffalo pkg
  21. Buick Wildcat mid engine aluminum V8 concept
  22. I agree with most of you, except this guy. If I hired in at Ford, I would no doubt get a Mustang right away! At Chrysler, it would be a 300 SRT8 or maybe a Jeep. Point is, Don't bite the Hand the feeds you. Based on fact, not opinion, Independant surveys like JD Powers rank GM #1 in Sales and service satisfaction. Of the top ten plants for quality, GM has 8 of the top 10. Chevy was the best selling passenger car last year. Duh. Ya think the majority is wrong and your'e the genious? Have you heard of the Corvette or Solstice? I get paid to wail on them. hmmmm The vibe was the lowest quality rated vehicle GM has. It's assembled in California by -Toyota- Try to base your opinions on facts. Not media crap generated from the dark side. When you understand the facts, Its easy to choose a GM ride. I have driven most of the cool new stuff by GM and I'm proud to drive Chevys. Chevys rule. Its not about being forced. ANYWAY the eLeMent dude's other car is leaky rice junk with a wing and coffe can exhaust. Those of you that can't relate, I hope you get better, soon.
  23. I understand the concept that everyone gets to choose what they really love to drive... But it blows my mind that so many people, working at GM for many years, choose from the dark side. Of course, if YOU were scooping up a nice GM check and benefits, ya think you could find ONE vehicle in the GM stable to drive to work??? At the Tech Center in Warren, they have designated parking decks in which only vehicles of the GM family can park. The other guys have to park aways out, and brave the elements to trudge all the to the bldg. Some losers drive crappy ricers and park close anyway, where they shouldn't. One guy drives a hOnDa eLeMenT with the gray plastic everywhere, and stupiest wheels I have ever seen! He always sits in it, sleeping and goofin off when he should be working! Or he's shining it, with pride...And then leaving early like at 2pm. This guy and guys like him are pushing me to the edge! Sometimes I see people leaving him notes, big ones like BUY GM F___H__D! A couple times I saw he was missing a window. hmmmmm. I would never vandalize any car, not even a ricer..but what is an appropriate comment, or love note to leave for this guy? I thought of many, but never left one. Im cOrNfusEd.
  24. I had a Sedan with 3on the floor....I have owned 7 G-body Malibus, mostly coupes. I found this one in Florida, and made it eat a tweeked 350 w/alum. heads, I also stuffed in a I/P from a 2004 Malibu. I have very little $ into it, and it flies. I tell losers it has a stock 305. I love these cars more than any I've had!
