  1. I am truly sorry for you. I would like to buy it and cut it all up. I would put that thing on a 87 K-5 Blazer chassis with 40"s and a 572 cu in with open headers. yeah....
  2. work in progress...
  3. I just want one.
  4. Love that crazy crap.
  5. It' a Tahoe body kit- work in progress just like that G6 the other day, from that GM Auburn Hills studio. There is a larger picture in the Tech Center News.
  6. The car is lightened up and intended for weekend racing, with stiiff suspension, beefy brakes etc, the removable hardtop should just stay in the garage. OMG that wing looks like JC Whitney stuff. Looks great otherwise...
  7. That picture was in the Tech Center News, and I thought it was of the new GM Auburn Hills design studio for Accessories /SPO parts... If you have too much money, the parts dept. at the dealership will soon be able to hook you up with lots of plastic, and a bag of wood screws. Like a corporate Pimp my ride thing. arrrgh
  8. So theyed be a medium/largish/fullsize/sportscar/GT/Coupe/w/ventiport and kidney grill delete option exxxxxxcellant exxxxxxplanation. Now I'm with it.
  9. Yeeeaaah I was a lurker too... and never comment, just sit there reading, in a cloak of anonymity. BUt nOwWw... i say stuff once in a while
  10. arguing the exact definitions of terms and railing others for not following it is completely pointless and counterproductive. so like, chill, everyone! Trying desperately to understand your point Chris...I get the chill part. I get the pointless part...I don't get the part that where a car that is reponsive, and capable of high speeds, isn't a sports car. Maybe instead of people correcting others with opinions, they should stick with fact-based comments....SCCA has classes for sports cars. Like Camaros and Vettes. I'm not here to argue, and please don't think I'm being disrespectful. I'm just trying to understand your unique point of view, which is hard to grasp.
  11. I'm sorry I can't spill details on anything new... and I only saw the '69 come out to play twice. Both times were on weekends, and I don't park in the Executive garage...so I dunno about everyday.
  12. I can only offer this: I was at the Tech Center today, and Ed Welburn, Top Dog at Design, pulls out of the garage in a yellow & black striped '69 Camaro SS. It's a 4speed car that looks like new, with updated tires and wheels...after it's warmed up, he starts power shifting, and doing hot laps around the lake. Every one that works at Design knows he loves that car more than any other. I can't get into details about what's new at work, just thought you guys should know .... He's one of us!!! http://www.cheersandgears.com/public/style_emoticons//AH-HA_wink.gif
  13. The people that don't understand, and continue to buy imports, don't believe they are ruining the country...They really believe everything is fine! It's not their fault they don't understand a global economy- Therefore, it is only logical to punish them monetarily, such that the remaining industries here in OUR country stay intact. Otherwise, if domestic manufacturers fail completely, we ALL will be picking though dumpsters looking for scraps to knaw on, not just autoworkers. The money spent by auto workers trickles down to every commodity there is. At this fork in the road, your'e either with the USA, or you're not. There is no F'N middle ground. If you spend your money on imports, WE ALL lose. Therefore, the goverment will, in the future, divert your money for you to avoid a national disaster...just in case you don't know how to spend it properly. See? On the bright side, there is hope for all of us! :)
  14. I saw a 2006 Holden Maloo R8 297 with LS2 6.0 Litre tags yesterday. It was dark purple, had same exhaust tips as a GTO in back, 4whl discs, 245/75/ZR19s. Unlike the other Maloos I've seen around the Tech Center in Warren, this one was LH drive! I've seen many kick ass El Caminos, but looking at this thing made me feel weak and dizzy. Oh yeah, it had a decal on the rear window, that said: " HSV ~ I just want one" no joke. This Maloo had the new Commodore fascia, a hard bed cover and a small wing spoiler. Looks nothing like the Ute, other than configuration. The LH drive makes me think something good is gonna happen soon.
  15. There is no cut off year, it's more of a state of mind, a vibe the car gives. The Solstice will one day be a classic, the Ion, hell no. comprende?
  16. 68 you are all over it. The where a handful of cars, modified/resTyLeD in the stupidiest ways....they were auctioned off to raise money. Hilfiger had the only normal one...... no- they all sucked!
  17. BMW Isetta ? I saw one at the WW dream cruise with a small aluminum buick v8. really.

  19. During a recent taping of "Street Tuner Challenge", a mildy modified Cobalt SS pounds a Nissan Skyline, as well as a nitrous snorting Jetta. All cars were clearly at the limits of tire adhesion, as the little Cobalt had the best lap by more than seven full seconds. Too bad so sad. It was at Buttonwillow Raceway park, and it's coming up on Speedvision...Watch it if you like that sort of thing. :P no joke.
  20. It thumps with a 355cu in. 4bolt main from 1970, aluminum heads, 10:1 forged pistons and a special long duration cam for a wicked rough idle. This is my 5th V-8 assembly and the best yet. There is a very special feeling you get from building your own, plus you can save a lot of money if you do it right.... Like the panther unit, it has a single leg rear end which slows take offs, but keeps driveline from breaking often. On the bright side, it chirps gears and does easy burnouts. I'm hunting for a Grand National posi rear.
  21. Well, that was thoughtful 68, thanks. I love simple sleeper cars. Anyway, the interior has a 2004 Malibu Instrument Panel, 99 Grand Am console, Nice buckets from a newer Mopar, '70 SS steering wheel and full gauges...all charcoal & grey. I have had many cars like this, but this one is from Florida and it's exc. cond.
  22. GTO with a stick ....I swapped for a friend's black GTO for the weekend, It was the funnest all-around car I every drove. Driving it everyday.... would be really hard to not get lots of tickets.
  23. That unloved SSR was tossed aside by ASC, they didn't need it anymore. It was really hard not to bring it home.
  24. I cannot explain why I am so drawn to the 78-81 Chevy G-body coupe. I just am. This one weighs 2880 lbs, looks stock, runs 12's with an angry mouse motor and lots of Edelbrock goods.
