  1. Well, he's right about the styling. In fact, I wouldn't even say the car has any "styling" per se. It's just a blob.
  2. I tried an Acadia and a Yukon. While the Acadia is nice, I liked the Yukon MUCH more. Better looking, better torque, less toy-like. Frankly I would even take a V8 TB over the Acadia, which I think is tailored more towards the women.
  3. Gotcha, I thought the contest was about skill, not cutting and pasting. What a joke.
  4. Hasn't anybody noticed that the winning design was a rip-off of the Alfa Brera?
  5. Well, I guess the EXT is my kind of mullet.
  6. "Overtly racist, humorous but yet non-offensive..." That made sense to you???
  7. No, you're wrong. The Ram is a nice looking truck. The regular cab shortbed looks tough. Overall they are slightly larger, but not much in it. If you think the newer generation of Rams don't look good, it may be because your sense of style is a little bit feminized. I will admit, you don't see too many gay males or women driving Rams. The Mega Cab makes a lot of sense; full sized bed, full sized stretch-out room in the interior. You don't like it, don't buy it. For me, my Silverado extended cab suits my needs so that's what I bought.
  8. Your friend had Deville DTS (Deville Touring Sedan), not a DTS.
  9. You're changing your statement. You initially stated that manual trans was a requirement, now you're saying it's a preference for many serious off-roaders. Well, auto trans is also a preference for many serious off-roaders.
  10. I think GM did a great job with these. I particularly like the lower spec "work truck" dash and the wide opening rear doors on the x-cab. It's too bad they don't offer quadsteer, otherwise I would trade my '03.
  11. Off-roaf driving does not in anyway whatsoever require a manual tranny. Having a clutch is a handicap in many off-road situations.
  12. I would like to pat myself on the back for buying 100 shares when it was at $18 or so, but then again, I already owned another 100 that I bought at $45...
  13. I think they look great. The only reason I won't be in a hurry to trade my '03 Silverado is the lack of Quadrasteer on the new ones (I am one of the few who bought that option, and don't want to give it up). I predict that Ford's reign as king of full sized sales will be over shortly.
  14. I said the Charger, not the 300, was WAY better looking than the Lucerne, which it is. The Lucerne is timid and uninspired. They even stole the rear end from a Passat! Talk about a lack of confidence. The Charger is distinctive and confident in a good way. The 300 is not my cup of tea, it looks kind of odd in profile.Yes, a certain kind of person gravitates towards a Ram, someone who wants the utility of a truck, something big, safe, and yes, good looking. I am not sure what else you are implying. I considered one in '03 but ended up with a Silverado because I decided I wanted Quadrasteer (and what am amazing feature it is).
  15. The Charger is a WAY better looking car then the "melted bar of soap" Lucerne!
  16. Or at least have good taste?
  17. I think you are all missing the point. The article seems to me to be sympathetic to Toyota but critical of NHTSA.
  18. You came from owning Corvettes and an E55 and you love the handling and acceleration of the G6? No offense intended, but I am having a hard time believing that a former Vette/E55 owner is going to be impressed by the dynamics of a G6...
  19. No, they're not. Power windows weigh less. The manual crank assembly weighs more than its powered counterpart.
  20. That picture is hilarious. Who are those dweebs???

    Death of the V8?

You are forgetting that for many, many, many buyers, a V8 is more than just raw numbers. It is about a sound and a feel that is unique. In short, the V8 is going nowhere.
