Industry News: Department of Transportation Proposes Their Distracted Driving Guidlines For Automakers
While I think some of these limitations are good, I feel the bulk of this is Big Brother telling you what you can do and when. I agree that a driver should NOT be browsing the web or social media or any other visual/manual input, but the ability to enter an address into nav via voice input should be allowed as well as voice operation of other devices. I do not see this as distracting to the driver. I do agree that things should always be less complicated. Will be interesting to see what the input from the public will be on this. Also WHY CHICAGO? I get LA and DC, but I would think they could and should get input from say the Tech Valley of California, Seattle, Dallas, Miami and NY as well as Chicago.

Blazing a trail to the USA?
While I do love my current 2008 Trailblazer SS, I also do like this new version also. It would be great to get this with the 2.9L Duramax Diesel.

SWEET Ride, that would be an awesome candidate to restore, just wish I had the money to do it.

Industry News: President Obama’s Proposed Budget Includes An Increase In The Tax Credit For Plug-Ins
If one looks at the facts of all defense/military spending, the budget for this year is estimated to be down to 1.415 trillion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_budget_of_the_United_States The Estimated outlay for OverSeas Military Bases is $250 Billion. http://www.fpif.org/reports/the_cost_of_the_global_us_military_presence Right here is $250 Billion that can go to strengthan this country and help rebuild the infastructure compaired to putting it in other counteries pockets. List of all the bases http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_military_bases Great review of "Cost of an Empire, Can we really afford 1000 bases?" http://www.alternet.org/world/130900/the_costs_of_empire:_can_we_really_afford_1,000_overseas_bases/ Enjoy,

Cadillac News: Spying: Cadillac CTS
When one finds that the Americans have built a very competitive luxury auto and has their own best beaten by it, then they start to look little things to complain about. The CTS-V and CTS in all versions beats the Driving Machine of BMW and MB, so the reviewers who do not want to believe we can build quality products that are the best use little things like 1.7" to justify why it is faster or not equal to a 5 series. Fact is we have to accept that we cannot win everyone over, so we need to stay focused on building the best product there is and accept that every other builder is out there is going to try and knock off our crown. Only by doing this will we truly stay the standard of the world and continue to win over skeptics. Every little comment needs to be reviewed and if it has a bit of fact for example certain dash trims that are not truly Luxury level, then you fix these things to make sure the American Driving machines are just that, The Driving machine Standard of the World. CTS-V

Acronym Test
From the CadillacForum.com People there are stating that the ELR = Extended Long Range. Not sure if this is true as I could not find anything on the GM web site to confirm or deni this.

Cadillac News: Spying: Cadillac CTS
It would make sense to move to Alpha and drop Sigma and reduce cost while increasing quality and profit margin.

Just a bad wire
Wow, I love learning new things every day. I always just replaced the whole thing, never knew you could buy a rebuild kit for the distributor.

Lexus News: Leaked: Lexus RX Refresh
Japanese only model.. Uses a four-cylinder engine Also very gutless if you ever been in one. It is equal IMO to a basic Chevy. Crazy how they will hold a name to a cheap car rather than have the cheap model in he Toyota name plate.

Industry News: President Obama’s Proposed Budget Includes An Increase In The Tax Credit For Plug-Ins
We could cut our debt and cost greatly by making one large change. Stop the 1.5 trillion a year spent on rent to other counteries for letting us have a military base and the cost associated with hosting soldiers there. Just like Global warming, there is NO SOLID FACTS that support the US being the World Police Force. We could pay down debt and focus on rebuilding our own infastructure. Bring the troops home and post them on the boarders with orders to shoot to kill anyone trying to sneak across. End result is a large drop in smuggling of drugs, illegals and all other forms of criminal activity. BENEFIT - Safe country and secure boarders. Close all overseas military bases, BENEFIT - considerably lower costs to the tax payers, smaller military and funds to focus on core infastrucure needs such as rebuilding our roads better, mass transit, clean water, Power grid, etc. This on top of focusing on growing our education system to be the best in the world again.

GM News: GM Announces 2011 Results
Over all this is a glowing report. Yet the NEW GM has an ugly issue to deal with. Socialist Europe and their Unions. GM is bleeding heavy and needs to cut their excessive manufacturing capacity and union costs. This is the tip of the iceberg that all car companies in Europe will be facing as they go into a recession. I fear that unless GM can get the Unions to cut their excessive benefits and pay and close unneeded assembly lines that they will be forced to decide if they want to just cut and run, IE close all plants and European companies or continue to fight and hope they can shrink their cost to get them inline with what the European union can handle for manufacturing capacity and reasonable costs. I think the next 18 months are going to be very rocky for all Auto companies in Europe as they work through the excessive debt country by country and the bubbles that are popping all over.

Porsche News: Meet the new Porsche Macan
So this begs the question, will it be an AWD only, FWD biased with AWD or FWD with a 4x4 option since they do mention all terrain. Going to be a very interesting release. Also will see how they price it as I can see this competing with Buick, Chevy just about everyone who might have a small AWD CUV with performance. Jeep SRT8 Grand Cherokee eats their SUV lunch.

Mini News: Mini Lineup Possibilities Include Sedan, Wagon, & Van
Intersting, sounds like BMW Mini plans could be what would take care of their global needs without diluting their luxury brand BMW and would take care of needing to consider purchasing a car company like Mazda.

Cheers or Jeers: 29,000 Mile 1978 Buick Electra LTD
Based on now looking at the link, I agree this is for sure a Jeers as I would not trust any of the electrical. That thing must really be spliced up to run all the speakers and stuff. It was turned into a bass pounding low rider pretty much. Someone will think it is cool and go for it only to inherit a electrical nightmare.

BMW News: BMW Shows The M6 Before Geneva
They are proving the point of building new cars already dated by the time they hit the dealership lots.

Cheers or Jeers: 1988 Chevrolet Americruiser
Toyota had a pickup truck like this also as a few of the still drive around Seattle. But I always thought it weird for access to the rear and such, unless you have kids to put back there. Jeers, one design that should have never made it off the drawing board even for a concept.
