  1. The west coast green highway has served millions and the website has been a well used source to ensure all trip planning allowed for proper charging options to those using BEVs to go on a road trip. Level 1 & 2 chargers with the occasional Level 3 fast DC charger has been the norm over the 10 year life for the WCEH. Now Washington and Oregon is moving forward to enhance this by contracting with EVCS who also purchased a series of charging sites in both states and will work with local state and county agencies to upgrade the 50kW DC chargers with CHAdeMO ports used by Nissan leafs to current high speed DC chargers with both CHAdeMO and CCS connectors. These stations are spread out among I5, I90 and Highway 101 on the coast. The benefits of this will be the following: Fast chargers every 25 to 50 miles along select routes Close proximity to freeway ramps Convenient parking Located in areas with secondary activities like restaurants and grocery stores. Easy access to picturesque locations like Oregon's Crater Lake, Multnomah Falls, Painted Hills, Washington's Snoqualmie Falls and Skagit Valley. 44 stations in Oregon and 12 stations in Washington have the following venues when it comes to charging needs: Ten (10) city properties (convention centers, visitor centers, parks, etc.) Nine (9) grocery stores Eight (8) restaurants Eight (8) miscellaneous properties ( Country stores, transit centers, office buildings, etc.) Seven (7) hotels and or motels Six (6) gas stations Five (5) Casinos Three (3) shopping malls. The WCEH is the largest contiguous network of DC fast chargers in the North America giving confidence to travel up and down the west coast. This is a welcome upgrade to the PNW and one of the largest expanding electric highway systems currently in North America. 3. Yes Noise Canceling have saved me on more than a few long flights when I used to travel for work. Now they just sit on the shelve in my office since I work from home for ever now as long as I have my current job.
  4. Cadillac has chosen to let Social Media and their blogs on their web site push their story for the LYRIQ BEV. Latest Blog was about the interior. Cadillac Creator Series: Learn about the LYRIQ Electric SUV Over all impressive for a luxury ride, but I do have to wonder as I am seeing the same grey tone as they have on the launch edition 1 of the GMC Hummer twins. GM needs more than Black and Grey interiors to win in the luxury space.
  5. @ccap41 @surreal1272 @oldshurst442 @A Horse With No Name Yes Bose is not all that and a bag a chips especially when you hear their home theater systems which are a disappointment to me. Yet as stated the Bose system is better than general GM stereos and with GM speakers since you are upgrading the speakers to Bose but the head units are still the same. McIntosh according to their website developed the head units and speakers using their technology from their Luxury Home Systems. As such, I am making an ASSumption, yup if could come back to bite me in the ass that this should be a much better system than most and especially on systems that have just speaker upgrades only like GM did in the past with Bose. Even today, my beef with Cadillac is that at $121, 490 for the Cadillac Escalade ESV Sport Platinum you still are only getting the AKG 3D Stereo Speaker upgrade with a traditional GM head unit built into the 38" OLED screen on the dash. Upon thinking on this, I went back to re-read the link @ccap41 posted above and realized that unlike McIntosh, Burmester has done the same thing Cadillac has done. Using a Mercedes Head unit with a Burmester speaker system. S-Class (burmester.de) This system while offering in seat vibrator's to make sure you can feel the music and works with a 3D mapping software but is just a speaker upgrade system. I am expecting McIntosh to have done a much better job since their head unit with their speaker design should allow a superior Luxury level of audio enjoyment. Point I was just pointing out is that the Mercedes S-Class with the Burmester system is also just a speaker upgrade option as it uses Mercedes head unit with software to allow mapping of sound. Jeep at least had McIntosh develop the head unit to work with the vast speaker system and so I do have high expectations as even Cadillac while having the optional AKG 3D sound speaker system is also just a speaker system upgrade and no real head unit.
  6. Never Ignorant, just informed. McIntosh was founded in NY USA in 1949 and is a global recognized symbol of global Audio products. McIntosh Heritage (mcintoshlabs.com) Compared to Burmester that was founded in 1978 and only recently in 7 very high end audio stores has entered the US market. I take nothing away from the push by this company to improve audio, but they in comparison to various intellectual rights are behind McIntosh who continues to lead the Luxury world in audio components. Dieter Burmester Germans tend to stick to Germans so it is not a surprise that MB would say such things about Burmester or Burmester would state what they believe about their audio system in a S-Class. It will always boil down to personal choice and I have spent many a day in the high end audio stores here listening to McIntosh and their lovely speakers and how it moves the air and electrifies what one hears in sending goose bumps, another electrical impulse throughout the body. I admit, I have not heard a complete Burmester system to see if it does that too me. The Amplifiers which Burmester is built on sound amazing. Yet as I said, I have not heard their home audio equipment to say it is better than McIntosh. I have heard plenty of S-class audio systems and they do not impress me. Who knows, McIntosh in the Jeep might also disappoint, but right now just like Bose, I expect McIntosh to deliver on their high expectations to compliment their home audio systems.
  7. Very cool review, young people are noticing Cadillac. Cadillac 668HP CT5-V Blackwing Review: America Did It Better
  8. I totally agree with you that I have always dreamed of a McIntosh home theater system. Having it in a Grand Wagoneer does take it to the Luxury Level that even Mercedes has not met yet. That is ONE SHARP Interior and STEREO System that Rocks! I love all the images and info McIntosh covers on their stereo system on their site. McIntosh Automotive: The Vehicles (mcintoshlabs.com) Having a McIntosh Electrostatic with traditional speaker system in the auto is just plain COOL! Seems all trim levels of the Grand Wagoneer to Grand Cherokee can have a McIntosh system and speakers.

  11. Based on the old Quadra steer, it seems it would come into play all the time just not on specific use cases. General Motors Quadrasteer Info | GM Authority What is Four Wheel Steering System | How it Works? (theengineerspost.com) So Turning is an expected benefit. Depending on speed, the computer would adjust the wheels as follows for local to highway driving. Over all a good video on 4WS. I see it being more common and beneficial on BEVs as we move forward.
  12. Modern Computerized technology is finally allowing ideas from the 70's to happen, but then with electric, ICE is on the end of that roadmap. The auto stop/start and the reduction of cylinders during cruising on the highway has proven it can now work the way it was envisioned. Will be interesting to see what other tech comes back. In regards to pulling customers from Toyota or Honda, NOTHING, Yup GM/Ford/Ram/Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep have NOTHING to pull existing customers that buy the cheap auto's from Toyota and Honda back. As such, I doubt they will ever come back until maybe under a BEV option they see something that is as cheap as a corolla that they like better. For those buying higher up in products, Yes, I do see conquest buyers just like how folks that bought Tesla 3 have moved on to a Ford Mach-e as a far better product.
  13. I like a nice ass, but that is one FAT ASS! ? Course a nice tight well toned ass like this is a benefit! Hyo ? A far more proper Curve ratio! For those that might want to follow this awesome woman. 김효정 Hyony Kim IFBB PRO (@hyo_1013) • Instagram photos and videos Before she dyed her hair.
  14. Yes, while I was being a bit sarcastic in my response, it was not meant to be a political post and just like yours, I do not see it as political either. I will say, I worry for friends who live there due to the lack of leadership and support for PROVEN TESTED MEASURES that can reduce and in many cases stop the spread of a deadly Virus. Sad all the people in Florida and Texas that are starving for oxygen and life due to ignorance and proven science.
  15. That is a Million Dollar question as GM has not stated which type their motors are. You can look at their EV site or any press release and that is one thing no one seems to have asked. Committing to an All-Electric Future | General Motors (gm.com) GM Reveals New Ultium Batteries and a Flexible Global Platform to Rapidly Grow its EV Portfolio Even in the very detailed release of the Cadillac Lyriq they do not state if the motors are AC or DC. 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ Debuts, Heralding an All-Electric Future (gm.com) Very weird as I would have thought an automag site would have asked that tech question and I have not found an answer yet. Do not be surprised if they are DC motors due to being cheaper to repair and DC seems to wear out faster than AC. UPDATE: So I found this story on when the Bolt was coming out. The technology behind the soon-to-arrive Chevrolet Bolt EV - Electronic Products QUOTE: The Bolt uses a permanent-magnet synchronous motor built in South Korea by Chevy partner LG-e. The high-efficiency motor is a GM design that provides 200 hp/150 kW. Peak motor efficiency is 97%. And SAE confirms that it is an AC Motor system: Electric Motor Design of General Motors’ Chevrolet Bolt Electric Vehicle (sae.org) This current story seems to imply that the whole Ultium Powertrain platform is AC as both the Hybrid Corvette and BEV Corvette will use AC motors as will the rest of the GM family of Hybrids / BEVs. Electrified Corvette (sae.org) QUOTE the Corvette story: To further exploit its vaunted Corvette nameplate, GM appears ready to bless a new family of battery-electric SUVs with the sportscar’s badge and design cues. Bloomberg recently reported that GM’s Project R will bring just such a product to market after 2025. At a CES 2021 presentation, GM design VP Mike Simcoe confirmed that the company’s coming Ultium battery pack “enables a wide range of models, especially for a broad brand like Chevrolet. The Ultium platform will allow Chevrolet to further expand its range of electric vehicles to full-size pickups, compact SUVs and even high-performance vehicles.” Traditionalists may lament this extension of the hallowed nameplate to vehicles with too many seats, but there’s no surer way to guarantee life for the Corvette after the last drop of petroleum has been consumed. Newest review: 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV electric Performance and MPG | CarIndigo.com They clearly state AC Motors confirmed via GM.
  16. Simple answer, 15ft underwater! Due to the aqueducts being empty, the Ocean made Florida a sink hole of major proportions due to the ignorant leadership that made it a one grave state! After all, ya gotta put the dead somewhere, so now it is underwater and we have our newest southern state of Cuba and the state sandwich is the Cuban!

  18. I think this is no different than an engine that looses compression and the transmission loosing torque. It will be interesting as data becomes available to compare how electric motors compare to ICE in regards to what they loose in HP/Torque as we know ICE looses MPG as the engine wears, so some battery loss is normal and I honestly do not think 10.5% over 400,000 miles is that big of a deal. Newer batteries are getting even better so just as ICE has improved MPG, I expect newer batteries to do the same with electric motors.
  19. Thank you, that is awesome, so cool to see technology truly being used over the long haul as electronics became better. I honestly felt GM needed to make 4WS standard on all their SUVs / Trucks when I test drove a GMC Truck with it. You really do not realize how nice it is till you drive a very large auto with 4WS and see how clean and tight turning and lane changes are.
  20. That is very cool, would love to see the pic of that Olds. I wonder if due to the decades that Honda and GM have tied up engineering work if that is where Honda got their 4WS that they sold on their cars? ?
  21. Interesting TESLA News this week: This is a positive for Tesla - Only 10% battery loss after 200,000 miles and only another .5% loss at 400,000 miles per real world use by Tesla Owners. https://electrek.co/2021/08/12/tesla-claims-battery-packs-lose-only-capacity-200000-miles/ Elon Musk is staying they are in EXTREME Supply Chain Limitations due to Renesas and Bosch having supply problems and this is hurting them as they have to also make time to rewrite the firmware to adapt to the new hardware as they bring on additional suppliers. Seems Tesla is not able to move to additional suppliers easily due to hard coding requirements. This would imply that as a small auto company, they have yet to understand how to scale efficiently. Elon Musk puts Renesas and Bosch on blast for Tesla's 'extreme supply chain limitations' - Electrek Seems Tesla is pushing out regular customers to January 2022 now as they focuse on Long range and Performance models for Tesla 3. Long range can be built and delivered by November 2021 and Performance models their most expensive can be built and delivered in 3 to 4 weeks. Clearly Musk is focusing on Rich people and could care less about the rest of us as long as we buy Tesla marketing stuff and over priced stock, etc. to keep him going with his space program. Who cares about the average people who actually make up the bulk of the population. Tesla pushes new Model 3 Standard Range Plus orders to 2022 - Electrek This tends to enforce why I think Ford/GM/Rivian can eat Tesla fast over the next 24 months as they ramp up production.
  22. My search did not turn that up so I appreciate you finding and sharing it with us. I did see that the version done in 2002 is considered QuadraSteer 2.0 based on earlier designs, but updated using better modern tech. That is good to see. Guess this could be where GM got their 4W steering for their BEVs.
  23. Was Delphi owned at the creation point of Quadrasteer? I thought they were independent at that time that they offered it on GMC and Chevy trucks in 2002. Just searched and it says Deplhi was sold off from GM in 1999. Delphi Technologies - Wikipedia This story says GM offered Delphi built Quadrasteer in 2002. GM Brings Back Quadrasteer: Chevy Silverado EV Gets Four Wheel Steering | DrivingLine Did GM create it before 1999? Have not found anything and the Wiki page says 2002. Quadrasteer - Wikipedia @balthazar @riviera74 @ccap41 UPDATE - Delphi created the $5,600 Quadrasteer and offered it to various Auto OEM's. GM was the only one to sign up to offer it on their trucks as it made these large trucks turn like a compact car. Interesting data on it here: GM Quadrasteer: The Great Invention No One Wanted (motorbiscuit.com) QUOTE: Quadrasteer was a steer-by-wire rear axle developed by Delphi Automotive. It electronically controlled the rear wheels to respond in different ways based on speed and loads. Two microprocessors controlled the axle. I am honestly glad GM has built their own in-house solution for Hummer, GMC, Chevrolet for 4W-steering.
