Sadly no, did not have the time, though they offered. I will say I did find one thing that blew my mind in a negative way about the CT6 V at $100,000 and that is the gaps and give of the plastic mounting as this white CT6 V had the back seat entertainment systems on the chairs and I was surprised how flimsy they appeared to be attached and the give and gaps around it. Not what I would expect for the price of this auto. Course I would not have them in it either.

Cadillac News: Cadillac Going Back To Names for EVs
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
I would gird your loins for the anouncement that the EQA and EQB will end up being Europe or China only as MB delays to 2023 global EV production at the Earliest. Plenty of news story's but MB is having Battery production problems that started in Feb 2019 and continue still now. https://www.carscoops.com/2019/02/mercedes-benz-eqc-delayed-three-months-due-battery-production-issues/ On top of this MB has anounced that their US Production plant will now supply their North America EV's with batteries further delaying their release due to the added weight of the auto's in shipment. Also for Asia, they just started a battery production plant as China cannot come online fast enough. https://insideevs.com/news/386148/mercedes-benz-battery-production-phev/ Clearly MB can build the auto, getting the battery packs to power said EVs is going to take another year and the focus is Europe and China over the rest of the world. MB will not be done with the US plant expansion till next summer then training, bringing everything online, your looking at 2021 selling models at 2022 at the earliest with reality that they will have EV options in 2023 sitting on the lots for consideration. about the same time that Cadillac, Lincoln, and many other OEMs have stated they will have choices too. End result is MB is Following everyone else, NOT Leading them. F1 EV racing also is nothing special for MB as they will use the same set platform as everyone else, so it comes down to the drivers skill. Again NOT MB Technology.- 74 replies

Cadillac News: Cadillac Going Back To Names for EVs
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
Again, your wrong on Cadillac. I consider it a top status brand and much better than the plastic crap the brand you think is best MB. Plenty of People do not think much of the Lease 99% of the time German brands.I find so much dumped CPO that is at low prices that they ship them out of state because there is so much. I question just how much profit your love fest of MB really has when you see the amount of CHURN that brand has. Small volume high profit can provide much in changing a brand to the next future way of doing business. Mary clearly is seeing a different world view than you see.- 74 replies

At my Cadillac dealership, got the CT6 V on display and I have to say, that is one tight engine bay.

Yes MB has also acknowledged that they are having a hard time getting batteries, so this makes sense to delay the US access to a model that they cannot yet produce in volume to supply Europe. As much as I like the Jaguar and Audi, both companies failed in using the benefits of an electric EV to give the internal space they should have. They actually made an EV that is too close to ICE in wasting internal space. That is where they need to correct a big mistake.

Probably a pile of Rust flakes based on the picture.

VW News: Volkswagen Working on Sub-Tiguan and Updated Atlas
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Volkswagen
I would agree with you on some of what you say, I think the problem is being too market specific where you build one type of auto just for say India versus the Asian market that they are part of. I think you can be a global company that uses 3 to 4 global platforms to build a couple dozen or more auto's from a standardized set of parts and still have regional focused auto's such as Europe, Asia, Africa, Arabia, North America, Central America and South America. I think this is the problem some Global companies end up running into when they really should be thinking regional and get country specific. JMHO -
This sounds like the death toll for Fiat in the US as I think people would rather buy a ultra sub compact from Jeep than Fiat.

Good to hear VW is staying diversified. Course they are a true global auto company unlike Ford, GM, and some parts of FCA. -
Chrysler News: UAW Approves New Contract With FCA
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chrysler
Yawn, the UAW has the Detroit auto companies bent over the table. -
Plus with everyone else giving it for Free, BMW has no market ability to have their customers pay when MB, Audi, Cadillac, etc. gives it for free.

When there were FOUR 350 V8 engines - your opinion
G. David Felt replied to trinacriabob's topic in Tech Section
Yes this is to be expected, I have never understood the European scale as real life owners never get the crazy rating of the battery pack. Solid state batteries should help change this. -

Fisker Ocean Can Gain 200 Miles Range in 30 Minutes :Comments
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Fisker
Will be interesting to see if they deliver on all they are promising on this auto. Will be interesting to see how the spec evolves and changes for charging. CEC is at 350kW of charging where Nissan CHAdeMO V2.0 is at 400kW (400A x 1kV) though on their web site (https://www.chademo.com/activities/protocol-development/) is that CHAdeMO is working with CEC on the new 900kW charging standard that could become the new global XFC or Extreme Fast Charging that would allows solid state batteries to charge in minutes much as some folks have stated Gas is better cause of the minutes it takes to fill a tank.- 4 replies

Will be interesting to see how we reference electric motors down the road. Will it be size like ICE cubic inches or Liters or will it be Horsepower / Kilowatts of power? ? -

Cadillac News: 2021 Cadillac Escalade Leaks Out
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
So lets look at the Evolution of the Escalade to today. Then we have this: The picture @Drew Dowdell has of the interior is interesting, have to see better pictures to really decide how I feel about it and the seats, etc.. I agree to agree with @oldshurst442 that clearly we have some blockage on the front, I personally hate this Chevrolet look of the headlights / grill area but we are not seeing the rest. If this is just a larger version of the XT6, Failure for me. Looks like it has the older style set in place running boards. I think GM should make default for all Escalades the hide away side steps. Current Gen Escalade Front end I like much better than this picture that got out. -
WOW, that is very cool but with all the horror stories online about people fighting to get their wireless connection to work, I do have to wonder how good this is compared to plugging in the USB-C cable? ? @Drew Dowdell @William Maley Any chance you guys can put in a request for one of these BMW and then test out both Apple and Android phones on them as a comparison to what you get in everyone else's auto?

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes Debuts the 2021 GLA
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Mercedes-Benz
Grant MB respect for some respectful numbers on the auto since it is nothing more than a cheap ass FWD appliance with some horsepower. External is just Blah Jelly Bean. Internal is Cheap ass looing with those ugly circle plastic vents. Looks like a ricer version meant to go into a Playstation or Xbox game.
