I did take my dad (he was reluctant) to look at a gold '62 Studebaker GT Hawk. That car was, IIRC $1000, and to be fair he did look it over, but again- it was too old (this would have been 1985-86). I asked him about it about a year ago- he didn't remember seeing it. I can still picture the black vinyl interior and the dent in the top of one front fender that must've come from a baseball bat wielded in anger, and I can pick out the house on Pennington Rd where it was. Always liked the GT Hawks.
Your not that old, only 1yr older than me.

Wish it had the TTV6 option for the RS package of Performance.

Traverse and Enclave are pretty good. I think the Traverse looks like a baby suburban.
WOW, your right does look a bit like the Suburban and in RS trim with V6, AWD and a very nice package, it comes in over $2,000 dollars less than the Blazer.
I am liking this way better than the Blazer.

No it wasn't. It was based on the midsize Dakota platform.
Much appreciate the clarity Drew. The larger size seemed to be a move to full size, but weird to know it was still Dakota based even though it was noticeably bigger than Gen 1.
I do like the Gen 3 Durangos.
@Robert Hall I agree that the Gen 2 and 3 of the Dakota are like MIA around here and yet you see a ton of Gen 1 Dakotas still.
Clearly Dodge lost their way with Gen 2 Durango's and Gen 2 & 3 Dakota's. I will say that the V8 engine in Gen 2 Dakota's is a nightmare. My sister had one and unloaded it as it was just one thing after another breaking. Once out of warranty, not worth keeping it.

The Durango has never been a full size SUV.... what are you talking about?
2004 to 2009 Second Generation Durango that my nephew had for a few years and got rid of as it was a problem line, but was based on the full size Ram pickup boxed frame unlike the first generation and third generation Durangos.
My understanding and from what I see on the web is my Daughters 99 Durango is based on the same boxed frame as the Dakota, but for the second generation Durango / Aspen SUV they built it off the Ram frame as the SUV became 7 inches longer, 2 inches wider and 3 inches taller due to the Ram underpinnings.
Gen 1
Gen 2
I admit I could be wrong but that was my understanding. Generation 2 was a full size and did not do as well as Generation 1 as to why Gen 3 went back to the same formula as Gen 1.

I'm usually a huge fan of Mercedes styling but the grille on this isn't my jam. It isn't awful but it isn't what I'd prefer.
I like this grill better than the GLC refresh Drew just posted with those two horizontal bars.

@ocnblu you might want to consider changing your email password too.
I would suggest all your accounts change the password and make sure you use the upper and lower letters, with symbols and numbers. That makes it much harder to hack.

The Five Year plan from last year indicated a 3 row Grand Cherokee was coming (whether it will be badged as a GC or something else is unknown), distinct from the full sized Wagoneer & Grand Wagoneer. I don't recall anything specific in the slides regarding Dodge SUVs, but I've seen speculation on Allpar that the next Durango would be a full sizer on the same Ram-based platform as the Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer. Time will tell.
Durango FAILED as a full size SUV. They need to keep it in the size it is and if they want a full size SUV for Dodge, then bring out something New like you said based on the Full size RAM Wagoneer or what ever Jeep calls it.

All of the pictures look unusually dark. Not sure why.
Maybe holding back some details for the Geneva show?

Outside looks ok...interior is too dark and gloomy.
I am happier as @Drew Dowdell pointed out to me on my comment on the picture, it is a hatchback, so not the traditional 4 door coupe. As far as the interior, Drew is hoping for a high end cloth treatment and that might not play well with pictures but could be very nice and warm to the touch.
I hope the interior has options for various high end cloth options for a warm soft touch throughout.
Would love a Mocha theme interior, Ocean theme, Forest Theme and City theme. I think you could have some very nice luxury cloth interiors.

I thought gm was going to electrify everything? why did the volt die?
Had an ICE component, they are moving to go all EV. ICE to sell till the EV family is out. Then sell both as the market switches over and then retire ICE.

Have to say while I believe the Coupe look to be tired and overused, this car is far better looking than the Tesla 3.
Way to go Polestar!

More competition should help with prices. More choices are good even if we don't go for the new things.
Some people in here are really living in the past with regard to Peugeot's reliability. I wouldn't base their current reliability on a vehicle that hasn't been in this market for 28 years anymore than I would judge Ford's current reliability on a 1990 Taurus.
I can respect and understand that. Yet past and for me 2yr old experience is still showing that their 28 yrs last entry in the US has not really improved much. Yet that again is based on my last experience 2yrs ago.

How did car insurance sneak in there?? And keys??? Is there some movement afoot to banish keys? Are keys a problem/inconvenience somehow?
No to 2, 4, 6, 7, 8
Maybe/probably yes to 1, 3, 5, 9, 10Car insurance was stated as self driving service cars will make people not need auto insurance as they will not have their own auto. I think they are making a crazy assumption that everyone will move to paying for auto service of getting from A to B using a Lyft or Uber type service. Not me, I love to drive.
Keys, I can see this happening as I see more and more keyless home door locks and fobs for auto's. I can see the push to go away from keys. Again not for everyone.
The remotes, I can see happen as more and more electronics move to using voice control. Guess the household will have shouting matches over what channel to watch.

Any Idea what their Fragrance AMG#63 smells like?
I see it has the S-Class large LCD Display. Some interesting tech spec, I wonder how the start/stop feels. Be interesting to see if you can get it for a review @Drew Dowdell Would love to know your thoughts on driving it for a week.

There are always people looking for the new and different thing just to be different and as long as they make a good, quality product they will sell and word of mouth should get more sales from there. This is all relying on them making a good quality product. It won't hurt us to have more options so I don't see the issue.
I agree that it does not hurt to have more options, but their history carries a ton of baggage like Fiat and I would have to question if Fiat even makes a profit here with the ton of auto's sitting on their lots.
This is more of those of us that have run our own businesses challenge their ability to actually make money and break even let alone a profit especially bringing in an auto line of product that the history has shown was garbage and some still see as garbage.

10 Everyday Items that will become Extinct before you know it. Do you agree with the list?
- Desktop Computers
- Keys
- Physical college text books
- Televisions
- Manual Transmissions
- Analog watches
- Car Insurance
- Remote controls
- DVDs
- Incandescent lightbulbs
I can see many of these changing but not totally going away. Television is one area that for some virtual reality headsets might replace their TV, but having tried from the latest $2,300 version from Microsoft to Dell's and others, just not for me.
What do you think?

I don't know how good Peugeot right now, they never been a great quality cars, but they were never really bad either, considering their market (you can't judge European common cars with US standard).
But maybe they are doing something right after all. Opel/Vauxhall under PSA just made a profit after 20 years of losses under GM. So maybe lousy socialist European company knows something General Motors doesn't.
Or, GM executives used Opel to hid losses that causes GM to Bankrupt in the first place. GM has always had too many name plates. I honestly think PSA and a few other companies will end up in Bankruptcy also as they struggle with way to many name plates.

I don't think that's an entry price for the vehicle RS trim?
True, but when you add what other OEMs have as standard at a lower price, I ended up with a $52K RS AWD that I had to question why would I pay that for a Chevy.
DRIVEN: 2019 Chevrolet Blazer LT AWD 3.6

Agree, I would take the GC with the V8 over a TTV6 in a Traverse. I also do not need the 3rd seat, but if I was to stick with GM, the TTV6 would make the RS a true performance CUV.
