  1. Still can't get excited about a 90 degree V6, no matter how many balence shafts that they stuff in the block. MB never should have killed the in-line M104 series engines. Can you imagine how good they would have been with today's technology!
  2. Did Ford back down on this issue? Seems like it has already blown over to me.
  3. Holly Smokes, just got my 2006 tax assesment... ...foot-patrols only, please!
  4. Yes but it's called "9 mm S&W Gun Stock Walnut" on police versions!
  5. Yeh, buying a car should't be like buying a PC where you have to worry about getting the most "future proof" model!
  6. It's actually the ideal solution for heavy users too. Hop in the car, start driving, and have onstar download the address for you. Very convenient! No more wasted time sitting in the driveway while button twiddling. Also great when you enter an area that you are not familier with (or you think you missed a turn), no need to stop, just do the download on the fly. Just thought of something else: No need to buy expensive updated map CD/DVD's every year!
  7. Acura should be sued for claiming that the MDX is a sport utility. At least the MKX isn't a minivan!
  8. "Heh, there is no way they are going to call it "MLK"" SL & SLK, ML & MLK, seems to make sense. It's the kurtz (short} version of the ML. Remember, this is the same company that introduced the Active Sound System and Pnuematische Motoren Stuerungen! (I'm not certain of the German spelling but you get the idea.)
  9. Looks like another R-Class fiasco in the making. BMW has permanent leasing support on the X3 and now MB wants to jump into the same market?
  10. Looks like Motorweek nailed it with this comparison. Leave it to the GXP version to satisfy both "purist/racer" and "street cruiser/daily driver" camps. It'll be the sure winner then. Wonder how long the GXP waiting list will be?
  11. I like the rooline on this one, especially compared to the weak attempt on the MAXX. The front 3/4 view shows a lot of MB influence in the hood/fender shape and up through the A-pillars. Otherwise, I've never seen so many different styling themes on one vehicle! Only time will tell if the U.S. market has an unlimited appetite for compact/tall/5-door wagons (unless they really look cool).
  12. Anyone know who the vendor is for the direct injection system? Is it proven or should one wait a year a year while it's debugged?
  13. I hope the aftermarket comes up with a better idea for a front license plate mounting location. Just don't like it in the middle of the grill, I'd rather have it off low and to the side.
  14. Such deals are usually done by providing specifications and then asking for bids. I assume that DCX either undercut GM's price or produces a bus with specifications that GM does not offer. If it came down to specs, DCX may have offered a size, seating layout, turning radius, or other some other parameter that is not in GM's program. MB has a very comprehensive bus model range because it produces for markets worldwide.
  15. I think the R in R-Class stands for... ...Rebate!
