  1. Those who like it, like it a lot. For most, I would think that the sensors and backup cameras would give peace of mind as far as visibility goes. And the performance numbers pretty much ensure that what's behind you ain't gonna catch up anyways.
  2. Now, let's drag this sucker back on topic. Issuing recalls for 18 year-old cars is probably a bit of an overreaction. But hey, erring on the side of caution is a good flavour of the month to be sampling. Hopefully they add it to the main menu.
  3. Maybe in Bizarro World... $1.4b ( GM ) vs $1.9b ( Ford ). Funny you should put it that way, because I was using the same thought process that wings used here: http://www.cheersandgears.com/topic/85823-47-grand-0-60-in-46-mt-tests-mustang-gt-pp/page-6 ...post #103, to be precise. Now THAT'S a logical thought process, eh But good on you for mocking thought processes like that. I'm sure your buddy would agree. :D
  4. Come now. We do not concern ourselves with folks who use trolling user names. Congrats on breaking 100 posts tho
  5. Indeed. GM's products have shown their superiority as of late. No doubt their marketing team is looking to maximize on that superiority.
  6. With the 2.0T the only thing I can think of that might hold it back in this application is the overlap with the V6. The torque curve is probably better with the 2.0 but I'm guessing GM wants to funnel as many people as they can into the Duramax first.
  7. Thanks for the report, man. Good stuff. I'd never considered the possibility of the 2.0T in the Canyonado before. It would be an interesting possibility.
  8. Sometimes I read posts and wonder if the writer moonlights for Kim Jong-il.
  9. Yes, no doubt the Maserati Quattroporte and Porsche Panamera are a Hertz sticker away from fleet-queen punter status.
  10. An LT4 variant with a curb weight below 4000 pounds would be an amazing car. We know the ingredients exist, it's not like they're the fever dream of an overzealous PR flak. It would be great to see-perhaps at NAIAS in January.
  11. "Great win for the Camaro" IS the topic. Yeesh
  12. #dominating
  13. Meh. The comparo speaks for itself. The reactions it stirred up were pretty predictable. Only thing to do now is wait for full, online links and see what the other mags have to say. But right now it's pretty obvious which is the superior product.
  14. Tomorrow is for Little Orphan Annie and Cubs fans. Today, the Camaro is just destroying. It is fun to watch, not so much because of who is being destroyed, but because it is firm evidence of what hard work and a deep toolbox can accomplish. It is an astonishing machine, regardless of segment. A car for the ages.
  15. Mazda Miata.
  16. Yes, and they well remember what that did to their presence in the segment. Eleven years on the same platform would be a bit much. I doubt they will try it, but if they do there will almost certainly be consequences.
  17. I've seen a lot of new Z06 Vettes in Sherwood Park Chevy. They look vicious. The Volt is what it is. I do wish it didn't look so much like a Civic, but it is what it is. Cadillac is making inroads. Make no mistake. I do not think the Mustang is a bad-looking car so much as it is a corporate-looking one. People call it a Fusion coupe like its some kinda insult but the reality is that was Ford's intent with the S550, in accordance with One Ford. I don't like the back end though-it's legitimately bad. And of course it's now a generation behind the Camaro for performance.
  18. Well, I can at least comfort you with the news that if you got a Mustang you would never have to concern yourself with the looks of the Bumblebee Camaro again. The new car's taillights look more like a Corvette's
  19. Well, at least you won't forget the date. I have been known to have that problem
  20. Halloween? Srsly? ...that's jes' crazy.
  21. FWIW I don't think it'll be 2021 before the new one debuts. But if it takes that long it's too long.
  22. A timeout has already been issued.
  23. ...I mean, here we have a perfectly ordinary SS that will run 12.3@116 in the quarter and pulls 0.98g sustained. That's some tall order to match for a car that weighs about the same and has a lot less torque. And then, there's that price. And the options packages. It's like Ford has to pull out all the stops just to stay in the game, and GM is just limbering up.
  24. And again... how do we know for sure when Ford is so gun shy? Nice symbolism with spelling out the Shelby's name going straight down though. After all, it's entirely possible
