  5. you can always offer him a ride there in your Grand Prix! Besides, don't all the documentaries show that it's the Germans, the Dutch, and the Scandinavians that like those places...
  6. Casa de Musica (Porto)
  7. fingers (no dirty ideas, they are ingredients for tiramisu)
  8. talkative
  9. Miami Beach (lots of glass block)
  10. Sunday, March 15: 1978 Oldsmobile 98 Regency sedan with gas engine (according to badging): silver / silver vinyl top / dark red interior (leather seats) / whitewalls / wire wheels Perfect condition / 6 digit (now 7 digits) original CA plates What I have always called "la cathedrale roulante" ("the rolling cathedral" in French, for its tall twin-spired taillamp look from the rear)
  11. fiber (to avoid problems in this area, supposedly)

  14. March 12: Regal coupe, 1976 with landau, primer gray, but running at about 75 on the fast lane of the freeway Regal coupe, 1973 with vinyl top, the mint green, but fairly faded, parked at the post office Same 'effin day! Nostalgic. (What an improvement the '76 was over '73-'75 with its Eldorado inspired taillamps)
  15. So why did this happen? The car looks good, supposedly drives well, is reasonably priced (in V6 form). Did I mention it looks good? So was it timing, advertising, crowded market niche, association with Pontiac, or another easily forgettable alpha-numeric name?
  16. Light (in Europe, there's no Diet Coke, only Coke Light)
  17. dfelt, you're way out there, are you SURE you're from P.C. Seattle? response to thread: soda
  18. This is now the second time you've said this... ...you need a new slogan...
  19. I like them but don't have them. Maybe in the future. Most of all, they make a room seem more peaceful.
  20. gooey

  22. Ditto. Of the big 5 car brands, either my parents or myself have owned Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Buick. Never a Cadillac. My dad had to be convinced into a Pontiac, a basic LeMans coupe with an inline 6 and no A/C bought from an elderly person and with low miles, that actually turned out to be the most dependable car he had ever had. He then became receptive to Pontiac. (My dad had one bad Ford and one bad Chrysler, causing him to buy GM from then on). I have more of an "emotional" connection with the 2 Cutlass Supremes I've owned, but my 2 Buicks have been very good cars.
  23. diapers
  24. What? You've never been to an Olive Garden. You're just trying to act highbrow. Sheez. It's edible. Sometimes they have decent dishes, but they have an American spin on trying to be an Italian restaurant. The best one I ever had was some kind of penne/asparagus/mushroom concoction. Again, not bad. But not inspiring, either. (Also, between the unlimited soup and unlimited salad, go soup and get the Zuppa Toscana - it has potatoes, sausage, rosemary, broth)
