I will get one more conventional car and I'm hoping the next time it will be something that gets mega-miles per gallon and/or has an electric plug.

Oh, no, we've gone down the language route. I like German for how guttural it can be. I only know a few things. Seriously, I wish you had $ 2.00 on your poll. I voted $ 2.50 though. I love consistently getting over 30 mpg on the highway. Grant you, the most awesome engine I've ever owned was my first car which had an Olds Rocket 350 V-8...the most enthralling sound I've ever heard from any engine. I used to put the right window down when going over a bridge just to hear the velvety rhythmic purr echo back to me. I love my 3800 V6 but it doesn't sound like THAT. Times have changed. Any more, I wouldn't pop for anything over a V-6.

OK, guy, you PM Moltar and ask him this. Denver is where he hangs his hat. I like Denver. It's a nice town. It's a blend of West and Midwest. A lot of Midwesterns like it because it's a change of venue without going "over the hill" (the Continental Divide). I'm a warm weather critter, so it's not for me and I like skiing less and less with each passing year...God, I hate it when you fall...it's so 'effin cold. Oh, yes, and lately I've been on a neurotic thing about mountain lion encounters ever since that 70 year old / 65 year old couple got attacked in North Coastal California. Everybody at work gave me $h! for weeks about my concerns. Within 30 miles of me is serious mountain lion habitat and I've hiked many times by myself. Don't do it. Many of the western suburbs of Denver (like Boulder) thin out into the Front Range of the Rockies where humankind and this cunning ruthless beast have had scrapes. Hike in a group. Have fun, too.

I'm laughing at this. I get along with: Straight women (except materialistic or superficial ones) Straight men (except ultra-Machiavellian ones) Bi's (based on who I thought was or knew of) Gay men (for the most part) Lesbians (if feminine and they like men) I don't get along with: Lesbians (if masculine and dislike men) - but everyone on C&G knows this. A few here have taken potshots at me that I'm misogynistic. (Gee, who might that be? :AH-HA_wink: ) Look at the list above. The common denominator is that I only like women who are NOT a liability to a man (on one end of the spectrum, the trophy bitch who doesn't feel a need to develop herself because she can rest on her laurels and may be entitled to "vaginamony" as Tom Leykus would say and, on the other hand, the nasty butch lesbian who, for whatever reason, hates men and is out to make your life miserable). I hate both of these extremes. Yeah, you may proclaim "HOTT" to the former, but when it puts a nice big dent in your wallet and complicates your life, how "HOTT" is that? Two Fridays ago was my last day at work. A couple of chicks at work hugged me, wouldn't let go and started crying. They really liked working for me and liked my jokes and impersonations. Duh, they were straight and really down-to-earth. Back to the list, most of the people I know who lean toward, or that I perceive as, being "bi" based on comments and such seem to be very cool. Sexuality is not a "front burner" item for them. Sexuality shouldn't be a "front burner" item for anybody! Damn, who woke this thread up? I am somewhat happy. The grille looks to be other than an oval. It also looks like it leans back in, at least at the top. I was hoping they would ditch the teary-looking headlights (making them look more like those of Lucerne), but what they've done is better than nothing. The headlights had to go, too. Is the 3800 remaining as the base engine? I would imagine.

I never have trouble getting a rental Grand Prix. I have to canvas the lot to get a LaCrosse and then tell the rental counter what parking stall the car is in! Either way, both of those models are down markedly. However, Impala made a good showing. It is quite a value for the money.
