  7. $ 25,800 CDN = $ 22,832 USD, at this time 32,000 kms = 19,875 miles Looks to be in line with what DN90 posts right above. Do you want this car...have to feed to V8 under the hood. Also, what kind of a warranty will you get with it?
  8. UBC could be Uniform Building Code or University of British Columbia

  12. Razor: Those applications you speak of are an aluminum head on an iron block, right? That's my concern - different materials, different coefficient of expansion. I'm not too concerned about all-aluminum, actually. There are now plenty of Cadillacs on the road that are 15+ years old that have all-aluminum engines with steel piston sleeves.

Is there a definite date as to when Zeta will be out? 09 or 10? And it will, for sure, be RWD, correct?
  14. True. I am wondering the same thing.I have rented several MCs with the 3900 and the 3500. Both of them had an ever so slight quiver at idle. They only had between 5,000 and 10,000 miles. Neither the LaCrosse nor the GPs I've rented with the 3800 had an idle quiver.
  15. Isn't amazing how they ram this down our throat? I once went into a Buick dealership in WA state and the guy starts showing me some cars, opens the trunk, and says something like 'great space for your golf bag,' assuming I golfed. Sorry, dude, don't have one and don't think I ever will.

  19. I know that when this technology was newer, the cast iron block and aluminum head could be a problem if the engine ever overheated and it warped the head gasket. I know of a friend's parents with a Thunderbird this happened to. However, I don't hear much about this anymore. The Chevy V6s, 3.1, 3.4, 3.5, 3.9 are all cast iron block/aluminum head. Most engines are like this now. Only the 3800 and a few others remain as iron block/iron head. Do you think this is a cause for concern? Have they addressed the fact that a car can run a little hot? Any thoughts or opinions?

  23. I wish it was just a tad more of a "rental queen." Except for once at LAX, I have difficulty snagging one from the rental lots so I can live in one for more extended periods of time the way I have in GPs. And I always ask for one, too.
  24. You evidently like bombastic styling. All the crap that is coming out of Chrysler (the 300, the Charger, their trucks) are all pumped up on steroids and will look stupid in just a matter of years...just like the PT Cruiser, and even GM's HHR, look stupid and will look more stupid. The Lucerne is a leap forward for Buick (especially from the last LeSabre) and is beautifully detailed in its exterior (I don't like a few things about the interior). It will look contemporary and tasteful for quite a while. In fact, isn't it kind of a riot how you can see the big Dodge trucks (some of them with a construction box in the back) and look at the driver and say "Yep." Seems like a certain type of person gravitates to those. Go Lucerne!

If there's no option groupings, then the LT should just be the LT, not the LT 1. Leave the 3.5 in there....some of us are cheap. You know how great it feels to cross 30 mpg? Comment: Will they be leaving the mechanics behind VVT untouched? Do you know how it works? Is it electronic (solid state, bolts on) or mechanical? EDIT after visiting ordering guide: There is no 3.9 to be found. Unbelievable. This is now too simple of a car to order...there are NO option groups. They've just bumped up the content on the LT to sort of capture the critical options. Negatives: they went up to 17" tires (which I don't like, I like the simpler 5 spoke aluminum wheels) and they force you to take the ABS...on the plus side, the spoiler is the race inspired one that flares upward.
