  1. i was using my father in laws olds 88 as a comparison as he had the same thing done one time about the same time frame. in otherwords a typical volume car just like the accord. the car had a/c. funny you throw that out there, does honda put A/C in their cars?
  2. who cares if it takes -you- five minutes, the thing is that 98% of people today get their car work done somewhere.
  3. it was a coworker, an accord, the alternator had gone out and needed replacement. the work was being done at a genuine honda dealer. cough......robber, whatever.
  4. the ones in my car took up no console space and was right at hand between the seat and the console, and it never interefered with your leg space. in summation, it sacrificed no space, it enhanced function and didn't take up prime leg space on the floor. perfect setup. see post #7 this thread. unless you enjoy snagging your dress pant legs on your footbrake all the time, then its ok....fer sure. or banging it with your foot and leg getting in and out of the car.
  5. "They had to take apart the dash and center console and do multiple road tests." "I might have to trade this car for a m35x" "they wouldn’t replace my front seatbelts that DID not work" "They have pulled the dash down and insulated where it attaches to the firewall, used sound deadening insulation in various ares of the dash and center console, and it still cracks and pops. Worse in the cold weather. This has to be a serious issue, more people must be having this problem. Heck, my wife's Accord is quieter than the GS." "Now mine, after 10,000 miles, has this windshield issue. This car has been a huge let down. My conclusion is that it should be priced at the low 40's. For the kind of money I paid, it is a total rip-off. Steering problems, it handles poorly, under powered, bad in the snow, creaks and rattles. This is my first and last Lexus. I have owned Audi, Cadillac, Mercedes and BMW - all of them blow this car away in virtually every catagory other than the sound system. Also, that "Lexus Service" that people here are always raving about...It's OK, but nothing that Mercedes and Cadillac don't provide. Cadillac was better. Audi was pathetic and I never had BMW service issues, so I don't know. Sorry to be so negative, but honestly, I am embarassed to own this car. People told me was taking a step down when I announced I was buying it, but I was sure that I wasn't. I was wrong."
  6. jeesus, i might have to pop some popcorn and grab a beer.
  7. "i'm planning on taking my GS in very soon for the windshield noise. Frankly, I'm disappointed by the number of minor fit/finish issues I've experienced with the GS. I still love the car, but I never thought I would be taking this car in for service so many times. Oh well, I guess even Lexus has troubles with their first year models, but at least it's nothing serious."
  8. "they pulled my whole dash out"
  9. cobalt hatch = cobalt HHR
  10. the backbone's connected to the LEG BONE...... etc. etc.
  11. um, it sucks that the impala has one too. i test drove an SS impala, and i'm like, this thing has a footbrake? I think the grand prix has footbrakes too. i don't give a FF what it is, i like my cars to have floor shifter and hand brakes.
  12. that's what I am saying, footbrakes are lame, and now Toyota has joined the party. Asian carmakers never used to have footbrakes. My diamante had a handbrake that was nicely fit between the seat and the console so no room was lost and the brake was in its rightful spot and easy to use. Why toyota has regressed here is beyond me other than to show Toyota is starting to get watered down to the LCD....lowest common denominator.
  13. i remember a coworker a few years ago had to put a new alternator in his accord. it was like 400 bucks more to put it in the accord than your basic GM car.
  14. tall chicks frickin rule. jump in with three feet buddy. the pool is always warm, never cold.
  15. I just thought of something. What if she is the beginning of the 'new aggressive female'.? i.e. stuff like this happening with the same frequency as male sex offenders? Is this the direction all women are going?
  16. so right blu, this woman must be a wild basket case. but Josh, maybe you dig that?
  17. lots of true items in that post
  18. HEY! I JUST NOTICED! IS THAT A FOOTBRAKE!!!!!!!!!!?!?!?!LAME! now we have proof they are going all geriatric/estrogen on us.
  19. the tc is a decent value but another 2 grand on top is starting to put it under scrutiny. it least it has some real horsepower compared to things like the FIT but if i recall, no one wants horsepower anyways. if it weren't so chunky looking, I'd consider it.
  20. although i do give them credit, the new camry is nicer to sit in the new Hyundais. Bland as it is, the interior is like hot dish for dinner on a fall chilly night. It warms the tummy, but doesn't excite.
  21. meh, been there, done that.......
  22. nah, the 04-06 was just plain bad. the dvd player at the side of the base of the seat. dash vents that would break almost immediately. a rough texture on the 'pod' that would scratch and look like hell within a week. Creepy leather grain, absolutely horrific cloth. Barren door panels. Rancid color schemes. The redo incorporates warm tones, traditional perforated leather, convincing wood accents, pleasing chrome bits, subtler shapes, and corrects the functional flaws. The dvd player now is in the right spot. The location of the climate and radio controls is perfect for a van because they don't interefere with the tray area now...hey, it even HAS a tray now! The gauges are small and kind of hidden, but since they didn't have much to work with on the redo they did what they could. It makes the odyssey interior look like the bloated puffy interiors of domestics of yore and its much more interesting than the bland Sienna interior. i wish the gear shifter was down where it is on the Sienna but we can't have it all.
  23. I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
