Toyota Stages World Debut of All-New 2007 Tundra CrewMax @ NAIAS
Intrepidation replied to scotthendersonfan's topic in Toyota
...and it's ugly. From some angles the bed looks droopy and slanted down. What a fatty. -
Why did they not make the stereo unit piano black? just use the Sky's piano black one...it's the same unit! That makes it look cheap...plus the plastic on the doors look cheap...but the exterior and of course the powertrain are nice.

Yeah, the previous Focus' cupholders sucked horribly. -

You insult me with that stupid "bling" term. However 17's, at least as an option, would better fill out the wheel wells of the car. Or do you prefer the undersized look like the Aveo or the Sentra have? -
Looks like an Uplander with a previous gen Lexus LS front end to me. I have a Shadow...and no it doesn't look like that interior, and I've been in an Omni...and again, No. As for the shifter, eh I don't care as long as it's within easy reach...minivans are all about convenience. These will sell because of all the class exclusive features, not because they'll be discounted. This is certainly the right way to go for DCX, they're in line with the current style without being ugly like the Sebring, and they give the customer choices and features no other competitor can match. The more I look at them, the more I like them. Good Job Chrysler Group.

Yeah the wheel sizes are 15's and 16's? The freakin' Caliber can be had with 18's! They should reall up th wheel sizes by at least an inch across the board..and what's with the deletion of the 2.3? -
This is what someone told me. Although I only really drive over the limit when I know it's safe.
-
I thought you could legally go 5 mph over the limit? That sucks dude, cops are assholes and never seem to pull over the people they actually should. I've had some ticket misfortune myself. It's winter and all, and you're supposed part on the sides of the street that correspond with the odd or even days, so that way the plows can get buy easier. Well there's been zero snow since last week, and a couple of days ago my mom comes in to tell us that both my girlfriend's and my car have tickets (even though one is on the right side of the street one is on the wrong side). Needless to say, I'm pissed. It's pointless to part on different sides when there's no damn snow. I also think this is retarded cuz they would rather spend time giving out tickets than teaching plow drivers how to drive! (when we got like 3 inches of snow, a plow slid down the hill into a tree). :angry2:

NyQuil works alright but I find the Tylenol Severe Cold/Flu stuff works better.

This thing gives me a slight Camaro vibe, which is no bad thing. It's a great looking car!
-
Now this thing is cool. For some reason I get a slight Camaro vibe off it (probably the paint color, and it's not a bad thing!). It's a really cool looking concept, I'd say build it!

It's so hard to update such an icon, but they could maybe make in modern in one generationa nd reto in the next. Wouldn't that be an original/neat idea?

2008 Ford Focus

I gotta say, I'm really liking this car, especially the coupe. The interior doesn't have the best lighting (typical crappy press work), but I really like the design, this is probably the best the Big 3 Have come up with.,,,and usable cupholders in a Focus! The exterior looks pretty aggressive too, and dare I say, bold?! I'm very pleased with the look of this car, and even if the chassis isn't all new, it's enough that it could pass as a brand new car..plus there was never really anything wrong with the chassis to begin with. The only thing i don't care for is the blocky air damn and fog lights, which are out of place with the rest of the swoopy/edgy exterior. Still, I like it, it's very nice. And hey, they didn't make all models drums in back like teh Escape, what a bold move! Good Job Ford, finally. -

That stereo faceplate has been around since cassettes were popular It reminds me of a slightly updated Crown Vic...which is a step backward. The interior looks better, and I like the attempts to dress up the center stack by adding chome...but it's so bland still. Well at least it has power now, and supposedly more refinement..but I doubt it will get much of a sales gain. They forgot to do one important thing when they refreshed this: rename it Taurus. -
Sure, BMWs styling is controversial, and there idrive system pisses people off, and the competitors are getting better...BUT BMWs have always been known and respected for being the ultimate driving machines. Even though they aren't beautiful cars, and even though they can be frustrating, once you get past that and drive it, you're blown away by how good they drive, and it makes everything else worth the trouble. One also has to respect BMW for not platform sharing, and not being afraid to be controversial. Not only that, there's the image that comes with owning a BMW that few other badges can garner. People buy theses cars not just for the way they drive, but the name attached to them. In Europe the 3-series outsells the Ford Mondeo! The CTS I have no doubt will be a great car, and the best Cadillac yet, but it's too big to be a 3-series competitor in Europe, so it won't get bread-and-butter sales like teh 3-series does. Plus Cadillac does't have nearly as much respect over there. Stateside I think it will do very well, but it certainly won't be putting that much hurt on BMW...it is just one model after all. So to sum it up: No
-
The current minivans are jellybean shaped...that's pretty aerodynamic.

Thank you mister helpful. The BLS starts at approximately € 27,000 (roughly US$35,000). That's a lot of money for Cadillac 9-3 True enough about the 1-series...although I believe it's very cramped, impractical and has a low rent interior for by BMW standards. Well the Mini does get it's own platform. About the Kappa as mentioned in another post: it's too small to build a 3-series competitor. Maybe Zeta though.
-
Now that I think about it, Mercedes does whore itself out with the A and B Class. But they don't here in America because Americans perceive them to be exclusive, luxury cars...those kind of vehicles would damage their reputation (so might the 1-Series). But in their home market where gas prices are insane it seems more excepted. So my thinking is this: A FWD BLS would be ok in Cadillac's home market, since as cavalier36 pointed out, Lexus, Acura, and Lincoln (although they're barely in this market anymore) have FWD entry level saloons. But, to be taken seriously, Cadillac needs a RWD entry level saloon to compete with the 3-series, and with a no-compromise interior (which means no corporate stereo).

Well it''s an abnormally warm--hell it's a record-breaking warm Saturday. The sun is out and it's nice as hell. It's strange and not right but I think it's a great opportunity to give the cars a wash and vacuum them out. Maybe I'll take some picks when I'm done Anyone else got the same thing in mind?
-
So I've heard. There other problem with Cadillacs have been the interiors. The CTS-V for example is respected for it's performance abilities, but the interior drags it down and they look at it as "too big" since it's supposedly aimed at the 3-series. That sense of cheapness and being too plus-sized for their smaller roads and tastes is why I think it's never lit up the sales charts over there.. The STS? We don't even buy them here. The Escalade? Too big, and the last one was just a tarted up Yukon XL with a Cadillac grill (at least this one gets its own interior). I just thikn they need a smaller ca r under the CTS that's been designed to be a Cadillac from the start and not a Saab. What does the BLS sell for over there?
