*chuckles* They've made me weep since 1988 ... and then downright sob in pain 1995-present. He he heh...irony rocks. As some know, I've been out of work with no pay for 7 business days due to abdominal pain that started with a trip to the ER Thursday, December 1. Given this morning's events, I figured I'd fill you all in...& give some other news as well.... That other news being the death of my grandfather, Virgil Weimer, this morning (Friday, December 9, 2005) in Mt Morris IL. After Thanksgiving, he had increasingly refused to eat. So, it was not a big surprise...but, still isn't easy. Unlike with my grandmother just over 3 years ago, we had no "advanced warning" from him; he died soon after he woke up this morning. Like with my grandmother, however, the minute the phone rang ... I knew. As for me, I kept my appointment with the gastroencologist this afternoon ... & still do not have any answers. I am back on a "solid" diet (luckily), but now have to go through more bloodwork & see a surgeon for another evaluation/opinion. The gastroencologist believes I have a minor case of Acid Reflux. The prior tests (Xrays, CT Scan, Ultrasound on pancreas & gallbladder, hidascan) show "gunk" in the gallbladder with a few small stones, but not "big enough" to cause the type of pain I've been experiencing lately. The focus right now, according to the gastroencologist, is the liver & gallbladder. *shrugs* And life goes on..... Earlier this week, I received an invitation of sorts to "check out" GMAC Insurance. Basically, they want to give me a quote. Since I've been "under the weather", I haven't taken the time or energy to call, but my guess is they won't insure my cars, given their age. I may be wrong...but, that's my hunch. Anyway, just curious to know if anyone else has received a similar mailing &/or has called &/or has insurance through GMAC.... They did that in 1988. Well, a RWD replacement would be a slap in the face to Monte Carlo enthusiasts..... That depends. It was "speculated" that the 2000 and up version of the Monte Carlo would be RWD, but sadly, that isn't the case. [Would've replied sooner, but been away for a few days following my trip to the ER last Thursday.] No no no...not on the bumper. INside the car...on the back ledge behind the back seat..... Sorry I didn't make that clearer earlier.... And, no, I don't mind you doing that....as long as you give me credit...he he he -

Nice, Sixty8 :). I see a few cars around here with wreaths on the front ends...but not many. Heh...I used to put garland along the back ledge of my cars.... He he he...I know the feeling, Josh! Every single time I've purchased a car ... have not been able to sleep....he he he. Course, sleep won't come easily tonight...for a different reason, thanks to an ER trip this evening :(. Congrats on your purchase, Josh! I expect to be given a ride in it when I'm in MI again ;). It's nice to see others agreeing with me ;). BTW, I know of that '72 color scheme ... I know a couple people with a similar scheme right now! And, HE, I see there is a mid-90s Ford Thunderbird in that pic...he he heh. *shrugs* Ya'll oughtta know by now what name I'd prefer. But, whatever they name it ... if the RWD coupe does come to production and for sale to the public ... I sure hope it takes over the NASCAR flagship so that you can once again "race on Sunday, purchase on Monday". You haven't been able to do that since 1988..... I'm right there with you. I had been thinking of purchasing an '06 impala, but then I saw a mid-'70s Impala and a '95ish Impala SS in a matter of minutes one evening on the way home back from a Chevrolet dealership...and quickly put the '06 impala out of my mind for purchasing. Instead, I'll either get a "winter beater" ish car ('86-'88 Monte Carlo, '87ish Caprice Classic, '87 Olds Cutlass Supreme, '70s-'80s Impala, '80s Malibu) or get an '06 Dodge Charger..... *grins* So do I!!!! And, fascinating just barely begins to cover it...he he he. I just enjoy seeing old reviews, old ads, etc., and, sometimes, finding humor in what was considered "state of the art" back then...he he he.

Nice! Thanks for sharing these, HE! Hmm...wonder if they have any replicas for any RWD Monte Carlos....sure would be cool! Um. It isn't just the auto society that utilizes this "modus operandi". *grins* Now _that_ is a good movie, imho. I saw it in the movie theatre the year it debuted. After spending the day in Nashville TN, I went to Jackson TN to spend the evening with a college buddy of mine. His wife and children were visiting her parents in Indiana, so he suggested we go see a movie ... and we decided on "O Brother Where Art Tho" ... and were NOT disappointed! As for my Thanksgiving ... well, just isn't the same anymore. But, things change. And, it was a good day ... slept in, then went to visit Gramps and took dinner to him ... turkey, cranberry sauce (my fav), sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes/gravy, green bean cassarole, stuffing, spiced apples, and, of course, pumpkin pie. Was there for nearly 5 hours...then came home to relax..... Unfortunately, had to work today. I really need to find a new job....among other things....
