  1. Didn't indicate anything IS wrong with it ... I just found it odd, is all. As big as the car is, I figured it wouldn't have a hood prop. *shrugs* I just associate hood props with small cars...not big cars....
  2. Whereabouts in Iowa will you be at that point? Dubuque area or farther into Iowa?
  3. Can't say I really have a favorite..... My grandparents had an early '70s Impala ('74, iirc) ... and I absolutely loved that car..... Other than that, I like the '58 Impala.... 4. *raises eyebrow* That HAS to be a type, I would think.... Either the Civic's is actually 10 more than what is listed ... or they switched the MPGs in the notation in the article.... Course, stranger things have happened.... 5. Hmmm... My guess is the '97 Chevrolet malibu. I guess this because it was the first car I noticed that had them ... thus, it is probably way incorrect...he he heh. I remember being "shocked" when I picked up my '97 malibu (late '97) nearly a year after my parents bought their '97 mc LS (purchased in late '96)...only to discover my malibu had DRLs, while my parents' '97 mc did not have 'em.... *shrugs* Cort, "Mr MC" / "Mr Road Trip", 32swm/pig valve/pacemaker MC:family.IL.guide.future = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/ Models.HO = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/trainroom.html "Hood slidin' like Bo Duke"...Dierks Bently...'What Was I Thinking?'
  6. *chuckles* I was _shocked_ when I discovered, upon opening the hood of the '06 Dodge Charger I looked at last Saturday, that the Chargers have hood props ... couldn't quite believe my eyes...heh. 7. Do you frequent many of the Detroit area cruises at all? Perhaps next time I'm in the Detroit area, we could meet up ... some friends of mine from the FGMC live up near you, I believe....
  8. Heh...I know what you mean. In the span of 30 minutes this afternoon, while it was raining (after a wonderful rain-free morning of driving my older 4 MCs), the 2 Chevrolet salesmen I was talking with regarding the Classic and impala informed me that they were leaving (one for a Ford store and the other for a dealer in another state)...and the Dodge dealer with whom I've spoken regarding the Dodge Charger told me that they don't do "dealer locates" for customers because it promotes them to check out other dealerships.... Aye. As for the new round of incentives....kinda figured this would be coming. Hmm...maybe this means the impala will be even less for me now.....if I can find a new dealer.... *sighs* Cort, "Mr MC" / "Mr Road Trip", 32swm/pig valve/pacemaker MC:family.IL.guide.future = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/ Models.HO = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/trainroom.html "How much longer will they be around?" ... 9. Well, mine _should_ be obvious.... "Mr Monte Carlo" D'oh. 10. bv ... if you can find out for sure, let me know, please...thank ya! z28 ... no show or cruise nights at all? Wow...I think I'd go crazy if I didn't get to at least a few every year...he he he. wildman ... hmm...if I end up going up with the family, I'll let you know...maybe we can meet up, if you want. FOG...Ah, I understand now ... and that's nice to be only 2 hrs from your Camaros...he he he....
  11. *raises eyebrow* Dare I ask "how so"...?
  12. *nods* Yes...yes it would. So, how soon you coming to IL? *awaits answer patiently* He he he And, GM1, glad you had a good visit with Sixty8!
  13. Hmmm....which direction? And ... I have relatives up that way ... and we may be coming up north to see them in the next couple weekends.....
  14. Are we going to get a review?
  15. *nods* Yes, that certainly would be neat :). And, um, if we meet somewhere half way, you won't get to see the entire MC fleet, ya know..... Just more food for thought....he he heh.
  16. *chuckles* Don't tempt me....
  17. *cautiously raises eyebrow* Wait ... let me get this straight ... an accounting error has produced the most-recent problem at GM? Hmm...if that's the case, is it possible that the "beancounters" have been wrong the last few years in dictating which vehicles are axed and which vehicles are produced by GM? Hmph. What _else_ could go wrong? Cort, "Mr MC" / "Mr Road Trip", 32swm/pig valve/pacemaker MC:family.IL.guide.future = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/ Models.HO = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/trainroom.html "It's a no-win situation" ... 18. ...He's happy with his LS only if he is buying a 1986, 1987 or 1988 Monte Carlo. *grins devilishly* The LSs weren't available until 1986, with the Sport Coupes (SCs) being the base models 1981-1986 ;). Now do ya'll see why I'm unhappy with what Chevrolet claims to be the monte carlo these days? That sounds funny'n'all, anor, but in reality, your observation is ssssoooo very very true. The Lumina replaced the Celebrity in 1990. In 1995, Chevrolet dubbed the coupe version "monte carlo" ... it was in 2000, with the 2nd re-design, of the Lumina body that they dropped Lumina and dubbed the sedan "impala". *shakes head*
  19. *raises eyebrow* Why yes, yes they do!!!!!!! Hmmm..... Satty, I did drive an '06 MAXX ... but I don't like the dashboard set up :(. And, the reason it is a decision between a "normal" "winter beater" (i.e. with rust, etc.) and a new car is because I'm trying to decide if I'd rather get the newer car ... so I don't rent for trips any longer ... *shrugs* Still considering....he he he.
  20. *raises eyebrow* So...you can make a trip to that area, but not out to see me...? *grins devilishly* Too bad I wasn't able to meet up with a lot of ya'll when I was out east in August of this year.... Ah, well ... there's always next time ;). Cort, "Mr MC" / "Mr Road Trip", 32swm/pig valve/pacemaker MC:family.IL.guide.future = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/ Models.HO = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/trainroom.html "There's no better time than today" ... 9 Days ... 'Good Friend'
  21. Hrrrm....sounds as if some of those folks you'll be meeting up with Sixty8 were in areas that I was in during my August road trip ... darn it anyway ... he he eh.
  22. Hey Sixty8 ... when are those events usually? I remember you posting a link some time ago about the Worcester cruise, but I can't seem to find that thread ... sorry :(. BV...same Q to you ... when is that event normally? wildman ... how close is St Cloud to Minnetonka and Elk River? zhawk ... thanks for that link :). FOG, why won't your Camaros make the move with you? (Just curious....)
  23. Which border are we talking? WI/IL or IL/IA? I'm, actually, not all that close to either border ... BUT...let's see what we can arrange, alright?
  24. *sits stunned* Wow...such royal treatment for the Camaro/Firebird enthusiasts.... Guess GM/Chevrolet does care about enthusiats ... too bad it only cares about a select group.... *shakes head* Cort, "Mr MC" / "Mr Road Trip", 32swm/pig valve/pacemaker MC:family.IL.guide.future = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/ Models.HO = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/trainroom.html "Why can't that be me?" ... 3 Doors Down ... 25. *gazes at MC board pic* Ahhhh....now, THOSE are Monte Carlos ... he he he. And, you're right, OldsGuy, that is about the same color as my '87, though not quite. That has the "boxy" front end ... which is the Sport Coupe model ... and I see it has the Landau top, too. And that SS....wowsers.
