This Cadillac looks nearly exactly, and I mean NEARLY EXACTLY like this Chevrolet : Meanwhile, over at Daimler :

Sorry; have had some depressing automotive news today; my detective hat is on it's hook. ? I think knowing what I know in general, the JGC fits the best RE DD's scenario, but I don't know. Not picking up on '3G'. Sorry. - - - - - grumpiness & sadness ?

You mean like the show car for production ELR or the show car for production XTS? I’m not worried. You’re sight impaired.

Do not like the color, and I prefer automatics 10/10. But it’s sure clean!

Industry News: Average Age of Cars in the U.S. Climbs Again
balthazar replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
I have a hard time considering a 6-cylinder (instead of 8), have only owned 2 out of 23 vehicles. Jonsing for a new SIlverado/Sierra, and would go either with a 3.0L DuraMax 6 or a 5.3 V-8, despite the 2.7L T having the same HP rating as my 6.6L Duramax (tho it's down by 215 TRQ, it's also not pushing 6500 lbs). From another conversation elsewhere; Chevy/GMC just aren't building hardly any 2.7L trucks anyway. -
Didn't it take 2 years for Tesla between the showing of the Model 3 to being able to buy it? Hell, hasn't the M3 (a trim and engine upgrade on the same model) taken 1.5 years to go on sale from when a new 3-series did? This sort of time span is certainly not unprecedented.

A station wagon, for comparison's sake : Is this also a 'station wagon'? How come nobody is calling every SUV & CUV out there 'station wagons'?

You're not going to make 'station wagon' stick. It has no rear cargo area (visually); the roofline is nearly an unbroken arch from the windshield header to the rear beltline.

Watched the 12 min video; Cadillac is totally 'talking the talk' with that piece. If most of the lighting & detailing makes it to production, the vehicle is going to reshuffle the hierarchy and see incredible demand.

I miss my.... wait; they're all right here!! ? Seriously; tho I'd love a spin again in anything I've owned previously (including those that never ran), the only one I was truly sad to see go was my '57 F-250.

I glanced across this story, wondering as usual why I should care. 'Multi-millionaire restored ho-hummingly common car / thinks it's amazingly special'. First, here's the before/after. Nice job, obviously (tho CERTAINLY not a tough restoration, at ALL) : Ya; it's Aquaman. Then this caught my eye : I don't know why I think the idle rich can pay someone a few bucks to make themselves appear informed, but apparently that's wrong. They made like 560,000 '65 Mustangs, the word "rare" doesn't apply. Then I found out where his thought came from : Apparently he thinks Ford built 1 each of the V8s, and 559,997 I-6s.

See; you say "work on the patio" and I read 'work ON the patio'. I need to move into semi-retirement ASAP.

It's 2020, did you still think freedom of expression was a thing?

Multiply the three numbers below by a factor of 10, and you have the 'electrify a vintage vehicle' fiscal picture. ? -

It certainly happens that people put deposits down on things that remain perpetually illegal. The occurence has no effect on the legalization aspect of the given scenario. -
• Changed the oil/filter. • Hooked up the un-hooked-up trans cooler lines. I do not recall why they were disconnected to begin with. • Finished painting rim #3. • Pulled all plugs, cleaned & gapped. Installed loose, as I want to turn the motor by hand with them out, to lessen the high compression load. • Lead 3, 4, and 5 for the accel linkage are dead. Still looking. • Carb rebuild next.

Used up spatter can #4 in the trunk, came out pretty good. However, should have used a black undercoat- the self-etching primer was a grey-green color, and such changed the final color. Then went ahead and dumped 2 cans of matte clear overtop, recommended as the spatter paint is partially water-soluble. That ended up a bit more mottled, but F it; I'm done. Still plan on a mat for the center section. Still have to get back on the header, but there's a few other minor sidebar tasks I can spend some short time on, too.

Has the 'Kandi Kerfluffle' actually secured legal/tested approval to sell in the US??? Most of the OEM-sourced releases are sopping with blurred terminology; where 'goes on sale Jan 1' leaves off the tiny technicality of 'pending US Government approval'. -

David has chronic 'EVSS' (electric vehicle stockholm syndrome). Land Rover above has always been a F'ing ugly shit box, and the Bronco is only marginally better. Changing the 'dirty bits' [™ RobertHall] and quintupling the price is a ridiculous approach. BK in 2 yrs. -

Very close on the pics, too. B-59 was closer to the 2nd one (& was white), the GP and Cat are spot on (configuration & colors), Charger was black w/ black graphics, but the ‘65 was a worn, plain, dark blue post coupe. I forgot one : also had a ‘64 Merc Marauder 2-dr fastback w a 4bbl 390. -

That affordability curve over the last 15 years looks a lot like the COVID19 infection curve for 2020. -

When I was 25 I owned a '64 GP, my '59 Invicta (plus a '59 Electra parts car), a '73 Dodger Charger Rallye, a '65 Catalina 2-dr sedan, and my daily driver; a '64 Catalina. :D
